Very helpful thanks! I own a suzuki gn250, had to program my menu 1 to c-0469 to get it to right speed count. I guess it does change from bike to bike. Cheers!
Have a 2013 Yamaha ybr can u please help me with the wiring diagram to this speedometer can't get the fuel guage and the tachometer to work everything else works ok
Great review! I am trying to install this on my tracer 700, (original was stolen.) I connected everything fine except for rpm signal, have any idea where exactly ? Tracer has stick coils ,I tried on pos and neg to coils and crank pos sensor but nothing happened...
The wire should connect to ecu rpm signal not coils or crank pos, I searched a bit and it looks like on newer Yamaha's rpm signal wire is just yellow instead of yellow/black if it helps
Helpful, thanks. I have a similar speedometer, just a bit different. The settings on wheel circumference maxes out at 199 on mine, a little problem since I have 21 inch front wheel where the circumference is about 220. Was wondering about this speedometer, does it go above 199 in the settings ? Do you have any chance to check it ? If so I would very much appreciate it, as it would let me know that I could buy this type you have and it would work. But no point buying another speedo that stops at 199. Thanks Best, Espen
unfortunately I do not have the bike anymore to check, but what I would suggest is maybe use less magnets for the speedo and calibrate using gps speedo from your phone
1 wire(green) for signal and 1 ground(black). If I remember correctly you can just remove the green wire from the plug to connect it in the new 9 pin connector and leave the ground connected normally in the original plug. Else you can connect it to any other ground
If I remember correctly you should hold the back button for around 3 seconds while the ignition is on already and while you are showing the total miles not the trip meter or else it will reset that
@@chrisjones5352 During the time of this video I fitted 2 straight steel brackets which you can find in any hardware shop until the proper bracket for this speedometer arrived (ordered from aliexpress)
From what I can tell a lot of these Speedo ask for circumference of the wheel and number of magnets/pickup triggers. If you only have one magnet it will calculate speed based on wheel rpm and the circumference, if you have two or will count two pulses per Revolution etc etc. The more triggers the more accurate/consistent the Speedo at slow wheel rpm.
The first 2 numbers should be the wheel size(17 inch in my case), the last 2 numbers I set them up by going to an empty parking lot and adjust settings by comparing the speedometer to a phone GPS speedometer app.
Thank you from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Very helpful video😁 Thanks a lot !!!👌Apreciate your efforts🙏
Thanks for the video, i did a lot on my own.
Like stripping all the cables😢. But the video make it a lot easier. Greets from Amsterdam.

How is it going? Thinking of getting one for my gn250
@@tomo2242 you should, it looks really good on it!
Hey. Thinking of getting one for my 1982 Suzuki gs400xf. Can you help me?
Where to connect the wire from to show the transmission speed, because there is only a neutral transmission to the terminal on the diagram?

Hey, a bit confused. I do have 2x 6 pin connectors on my bike. Xjr400. Did you modify you 9 pin to be 6 pin to match the bike
Self answered , older model before 95 has 2x 6 pin connectors and younger models have 9 and 6 pin.
I'm sure I had a 9 pin plug already on the bike and mine was an older model it was a 95
thank you for this, I have no manual for setting it up otherwise lol
I was in the same situation so glad I could help :)

Yes, thanks for answering, I will try that :)
hi bro.. do u hv something write down on the xjr400 wiring ? not clear in your video..thanks
Hey i brought the same one and i dont find rpm wire
Hello, everything is clear but how to connect the revmeter? Which cable is dedicated for revs?
It should be the yellow/black on both sides
How do you get the gas gauge to work when your gas sensor has 2 wires ?

i spliced it into another wire
Hi,
Do you know how to go into settings and set the total KM for the Bike?
Is this possible?
Best regards
Uffe (BMW k100 owner)

will this work on sr 500 kickstarter bike?
I don't think there should be any issues as it should have similar wiring
Will this work with a 1982 Yamaha xj650?
Yes it should as long as the wire color coding is the same
@@pullumoto did the bracket come with the gauge or you had too buy it

hello sir why my universal speedometer is moistureng inside the lens after washing it
I would not spray water directly on these things(except for rain), even though they look well built I'm sure they don't have the best waterproofing
I bought also same item.but mine is not working.although i connected it to the power supply
Did you try it with an external battery or a 12v source first (not on bike) to check the unit works?
hi, nice video very helpful! , i have a question, where do i connect the wire for the engine revs? the one coming from the coil
If I remember correctly its yellow/black from the tacho and connects to yellow/black on the bike they are the same color wire(9pin connector)

you need to press the button on the back side for at least 5 seconds to access the menu
@@pullumoto Mine has a PIN. I think I have a different model
I connected it man but my Speedo wont turn off even tho my harley is off
Harley's mostly likely have a different colour wiring harness, so you will need to convert the colours I said to
to your specific bike
You probably swapped the permanent+12 with the +12 downstream the key switch
How you select the position of magnet for speed
The position of the magnet doesn't make a difference as long as it is in close range of the sensor

you count the whole wheel? or half wheel??
