Dude, I watched the whole video and thought thats way too much work for me in this moment. I checked out the comments and I did the same thing you did and it went away like a charm.
There is ESD to be concerned about. You will absolutely not be shocked by an unplugged electronic. Electrostatic discharge can ruin the green panel if you touch it without grounding yourself. The video does not state this but please be careful not to touch the green panels without eliminating ESD as an option, because if you shock it, you won't even know it happened until you try to turn it on, and it doesn't, because it has fried.
Im too scared to open mine...... The line was disappearing before when I was putting pressure on the front bottom edge (without dissembling) but now it seems like it won't go away.
Yes, putting pressure on it can fix the problem temporarily, but usually at some point the movement causes the solder joint/joints to further break and make the problem worse. The only way to fix it is to open it up. It's honestly not that hard if you find a tutorial for your specific monitor and follow it closely and don't use too much force.
WHAT THEEEE U HELPED ME FIX MY MONITORRRR!! IN MY CASE THERE IS A RED HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL LINES FLICKERING IN MY MONITOR. YOU'RE AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND, SIR!
Tried it on my monitor, unfortunately it didn't work due to the way the black tape is. Monitor is the LG 32UD99-W. :( A headphone hitting the very bottom rim of the monitor created a 1.5cm black vertical line to appear on the screen. The circuit board appeared to be very fixed in place so I wasn't able to move it like you did in this video. Damn..... So expensive that monitor too. *sigh...
i tried many methods of applying pressure and still doesnt dissapear. however i do see the "glue" used to stick to the board are farther than the cables. maybe they used too much passed the cable?
There was fungus build up in my Zebronics monitor, which I cleaned up. Now this Thick almost 1 inch white vertical line appears. My monitor has similar PCB board, with almost 5 golden thin connectors like you said, should i try the same.
1 inch thick line is quite many pixels. I'm pretty sure this fix won't work. Does the line disappear or change in any way when pressing on the edges of the panel where the line is?
@@KrupsFilms sometimes yes, when i press hard it goes and come back in millisecond. It was working properly when it had fungus, but then we cleaned it up and fixed it again and it didn't work.
Can you help me? It works the first time i did this method and the line was gone, after an hour of use the line came back and doing this again did not fix it :(
Horizontal lines are usually a completely different problem. I'm not exactly sure how to go about fixing those as we've never really tried, but it's something to do with the panel's electronics, not a bad connection as with vertical lines.
Thanks but I can't for the live of me, take off that casing. It's so thin I'm not even sure if I trie to dislodge a thing that is even moveable. I'm afraid I'm going to brake it. If I could take off that blasted thing I'd be able to fix that Asus monitor because apart from a dead pixel somewhere the only thing it has is that infuriating line in almost the middle of the screen.
Hi, I have a asus pb278qr with the same issue. Single vertical black line with red background and line disappear with blue and green background. However, having tried your method and even compressing each connection with a tweezer with no luck. Line stay constant throughout. Any advice please. Thanks
Unfortunately, if no amount of twisting and squeezing anything does anything to the line, the problem is likely inside the panel or something to do with its electronics.
It might be held together with some sort of adhesive instead of screws. That could make it harder to repair, but with a good prying tool and patience you can definitely get it to open.
Does this work with all monitors? I have Samsung G9 with same symptoms. I opened it up and fiddling with the bottom circuit connections doesn't seem to do anything.
hello sir. i have an asus vk278q monitor. a red and green vertical line appeared a few weeks ago. i would like to ask if maybe you could help me on how to fix it if you have idea on asus monitors. thank you
It doesn't really matter what monitor it is, all LCD monitors work the same way. If you're wondering how to disassemble it, try to find a teardown video, but most likely you need to remove all screws on the back and then pry the front bezel off.
Time for a new monitor then I think. The lines won't always go away, the cut connection might also be inside the panel, and in that case it's likely impossible to repair.
LCD and LED are two unrelated things. LCD is the panel type, and it being a transmissive panel it needs a backlight for illumination. That can be made of LED of CCFL lamps. In this case the monitor uses CCFL lamps that run on very high voltage, and thus touching the power supply can be very dangerous when it is plugged in. LED's run on much lower voltage and are safer, more modern and all-around better.
Do viruses cause these type of lines? I took a screenshot of the screen and the line was not there. Does this mean that it's a hardware issue? (Mine has one horizontal line in the middle of the screen)
Well, I mean theoretically they could, but then it'd most likely show up in a screenshot. When you take a screenshot and the line is not there it almost certainly means that the problem is in your monitor. So yes, it's a hardware issue. No, installing windows defender won't help. It most likely wouldn't help even if you had a virus and in this case certainly not.
And this is how a minute long video saved thousands of people's money.
