- Embark on a magical journey into Hayao Miyazaki's 'Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea' as I bring the enchanting Pop-Pop Boat to life!!!
The entire production process took 28 days, during which I not only replicated the Pop-Pop Boat in animation but also infused it with my own creative touch. I introduced a water inlet at the bubble engine for a seamless water supply and crafted a lift platform to play with candle heights, elevating the magic.
Now, here's the unexpected twist-my dad 'borrowed' the boat for a fishing expedition.😛

Starting off the year right! Another amazing build! I’m also happy it works in the water too!! I’m even more suprised it could take 2 people as well! Once again, a fantastic build and I’m glad you and (I’m guessing) your pa got to have fun with it!
Been so long since I've seen a video from my favorite Creative. Always a calming blessing to see her work. I don't think there is anything she cannot do! Still remember her home build, small Paper Mache decorations of flowers, jewelry stands and boxes. The bow and arrows are amazing too.
Giant sculptures of mythical creatures, swords with lights, Mandalorian Armor and Mech Warrior body suits! She can literally do anything! You have to love this girl and her channel!!!❤ Simply Wonder! Fantastic Father Daughter Time Too!🎉

Edit: Mould (a science youtuber) made his own hilariously oversized pop-pop boat - with the _exact_ same result (the _speed_ doesn't increase when scaling up the _size;_ the boat moves at 1 cm per second no matter if it is 10 cm long or 3 meters long). But his was far less cute. Check it out, it is hilarious.

Man seeing this really brings back memories! Since i used to watch ponyo as a kid down at my grandma's. Since crackle had it up to watch; and i fell in love with it since! And still do! So great job on making this thing!

This is a joy to watch. The builder is proficient with many tools and techniques, plus they worked safely. I've made a putput boat from an aluminium can, this is way better.

Interesting idea. We have little ones, called put-puts. I have never seen the idea scaled up. I wonder if it could be made to generate more power.

First of all, I think it's great how this "toy boat in large" was built and the craftsmanship of the whole thing is really super! The only problem is the fact that flow machines like aeroplanes, certain engines and ships with planing hulls change their characteristics when you change the scale. The small toy boats that you can buy at Christmas markets in Germany, for example, speed through the pool or bathtub like racing boats. Unfortunately, this doesn't really work in large scale. There are a few people here on UA-cam who have tried this in vain. I think 2 of them have converted the motor into a version that works in these dimensions.

@TubeYouLena кому как, я вот работаю по выходным езжу на дачу что бы провести время по дальше от шумного города в тишине и покое, а сасед мой чёртов мастеровой..постоянно что то мастерит используя при этом самые шумные инструменты вроде циркулярной пилы или болгарки , начинает с раннего утра и заканчивает поздним вечером.... и блин не получается у меня поспать подольше и после обеда вздремнуть не выходит и с саседом ругаться не охота мужик он хороший. Вот вам и мастеровые....
@@ВикторАкимов-к6н ну да, согласна, кому как и когда как. Меня звук пилы мужа в гараже никогда не раздражает, только радует. А вот звук моторов машин соседа (он частный автослесарь, постоянно что-то чинит) мешает мне аудиокнижки слушать :).
Studio Ghibli movies are the best! Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service are two of my favourites.

But if you decide to build another boat later, don`t make it with a flat bottom, this will make it float better, give it better balance and also better to steer, and if it is wind, it will be better to control and not be drifted so easy with the wind.
But then again, i have not seen Ponyo, and maybe it should be a exact copy of something from there..

Well... the steam power candle boat works as well as one would expect... but it's a great build nonetheless!
Unfortunately these candle motors don't work when you scale them up. Hence why she had to row. However she had me going, I really expected her to prove this fact wrong lol. Nice build

Yay! A big put-put boat :) Ofc the speed will always be slower than a snail's pace but it is fun anyway. Make a lighter version though as weight of yours is really bad.

I always wanted to make a full sized 'Pop Pop' boat! Good for you! Maybe put the boiler below the gunnels and shield the flame. Make the firebox so it can use drift wood from the bank! What a cute boat and skipper!

When you are using C clamps where one end spins on the item you are gluing, it helps to put a small block of wood under the spinning clamping force.
This. When I made my boat I didn’t know about that and it made circle dents where I had it, some even cracked. Didn’t know about that until after and had to redo one part because of a crack. I don’t mind ugly, but cracks are not great to say the least..
