i think linux is good for servers but to use it on laptops and all is not very convenient. i tried every single distro on my laptop (gaming notebook with amd and nvidia combination). on every single distro many features break suddenly eg. brightness stuck on max and all. also on wayland screen shutter abruptly while in x11 fractional scaling breaks. its total disaster
Anything related to Nvidia is a long history of problems. Nvidia simply hasn't embraced Linux like AMD has and your experience is the result of that. All AMD systems for example, tend to be rock solid experiences. Nvidia support has come a LONG way though. With so many years of shoddy support from Nvidia, the community has had to write a lot of code themselves and graphics are some of the most complex things to build code for in a system so it has taken a long time. The good news is that more and more Nvidia issues keep getting fixed with this year in particular looking really good for a lot of the Wayland issues finally getting fixed. It's not from lack of effort that Nivida support has been a problem, but many of the issues are finally getting fixed now.
its driver problem, getting good gpu drivers on your computer will fix this problem. I had the brightness problem too, but i fixed it with nvidia-driver-550 instead of nouveau drivers. Btw i use linux mint 22 / amd cpu and nvidia gpu
