Be sure to update your UBoom X to firmware 0.39 that is now available through the Earfun app. That updated firmware addresses the issues firmware 0.38 suffers from.
If you use ground zero on the x, it is the wrong placement. G0 is for omnidirectional listening, so it is totally wrong here!!! Speaker need to be tilt with tweeter up to the sky!
If the speaker is showing signs of being greatly stressed at that EQ at max volume it's not going to matter if it's on it's back or sitting flat. You can take that to the bank!
The Boom 2 Plus is a well rounded speaker that has great “punch”. If you eq the bass at 40hz then it will certainly get plenty low. It obviously has more power and headroom than the Earfun (low output volume and apart after 80%). I have the Stormbox Blast as well and it sounds good, but is more of a studio monitor type speaker. The Boom 2 Plus has be come my favorite for all around music from oldies to current music. It has that “impact” that you refer to that few speakers have and doesn’t translate over UA-cam. Great review! Keep them coming!
I like several of these boombox speakers that have come out in the past few years. It's great to have so many good options, but that can make it hard for somebody to decide on just one.
@@현무-o7d so far wking is most powerful boombox the boom 2 plus has potential but its very muffled and the passives are designed for upper bass then deepbass
I also think that the Uboom X will not be perfect. But the Early Bird price is 112 USD, which is quite reasonable. I felt Soundcore's voice was stronger.
I'm digging my Soundcore Boom 2 Plus and after I bought it just barely after it's release on May 29th, I'm STILL having a ball putting it through it's paces, because it could handle LOTS of different kinds of bass, both electronic and acoustic! 🔊)))))))))
if you have firmware update 3.11 the boom 2 plus can dig low but to get the feeling of it you might need to mod the passive radiator by adding weight you will get more deeper bass for sure
@@jacobdavidson9752 I heard about that from another UA-camr recently. What kind of weight DO you suggest, man? They talked about these car magnetic cellphone holders that you could stick on the radiators. Do you mean those?
Great work Jay! I love these. To me the soundcore sounds slightly better and much more powerful. But i would love to have either. I have the boom2 and really enjoy it.
Mr. Hand has been sober for like 3 months now. I'm very proud of him. 😆 I'm glad you asked about the weight, because these aren't too far apart. On my scale the Boom 2 Plus is 8lbs 4.6 oz. The UBoom X is 9lbs 1.6oz. So the UBoom X is heavier, but by less than a pound.
The different response at different volume setting makes the comparison a bit more difficult, especially when you consider that people don't typically look at the volume setting - they adjust the volume setting until the output level of the BT speaker reaches something that they're comfortable with. However, to me it sounded like the UBoom X was doing low frequency bass a bit better than the more expensive Soundcore Boom 2 Plus. I do prefer the Boom 2 Plus styling however.
Hi there, not intended to be negative in the first UboomX video, just that I think the "first look review" is kinda not informative and meaningless and I might be too harsh, but I guess it is Earfun's responsibility to let people know what specially about every EQ especially the Oluv's one, your video might actually showcase what a normal customer might think of the speaker when they first get it. I have watch your other new videos of UboomX and do think those are useful and great reviews, I would think the volume above 80% is meant for listening faraway distance, I have to turn the video volume down a lot to listen the recording, maybe normally we don't listen to speaker max volume this close, so an outdoor test would be very useful to test UboomX high volume issue if the problem is actually there.
It was not a review, nor never stated as a review, so not sure why anybody would keep calling this a review. I took the speaker out of the box, turned the camera on and did a "first look" video and demo so people could get a chance to check out a new speaker that just came out. I don't know what else to say. I've done dozens of first look videos in the past and nobody complained until now. What makes this different? Explain that. 😆

@@emanrov Go with the W-KING X20. I own one of these speakers & I’m not being endorsed or paid to say these things. I also own a JBL BB3. The X20 performs better & gets louder than the BB3 while it’s running off of its battery. The BB3 performs better or excels in an indoor environment placed near a wall while it’s plugged in getting the full 180 watts. I watched a comparison video between the X20 & the BOOM2PLUS. It wasn’t even fair or close. The X20 got considerably louder with better detailed mids, clean smooth highs & deep, but tight bass that sounds better & gets loud at max volume off, but still keeps most of it’s bass, without the mids & highs sounding pushed, distorted & or ear piercing or shrill. It may cost more $$$, but trust me, the X20 is the much better speaker.
W-KING has most if not all of their mid & larger sized boomboxes discounted lately. This has me believing that they’re going to release some new speakers soon. Wishful thinking anyway.😂
I haven't heard of any plans for a bigger speaker than the T9 Pro from W-King. They have sent me speakers in the past and I've actually helped them out with the T11 and D320 firmware update problems. I think the market is just soft right now due to so many speakers out there available and people don't have as much disposable income as they have had in years past.

I think it's just a couple of guys who are big fans of Oluv and want to belittle my videos on his behalf. At any rate, I am a fully independent person doing this and not working for or being paid by any company or person to influence my views on any video I make.

if you make the passive radiators on soundcore boom 2 more heavy it can actiually go impressively low

At $199.99 or less, the Boom2Plus is a go. Over $199.99, it has trouble competing with the likes of the X20 or BUGANI BOOST MAX.
Yeah, at $199.99 it makes more sense than when it is $249.99.
Well, I have exactly that issue. The b2p is 169.99€ (189$) and the x20 is 239 (266$) over here. That makes the decision pretty hard
