Well the Glow is a completely different style of speaker, with just a single, down-firing driver, so it's a 360° speaker compared to the traditional, front-firing Select 2S. I don't think the Glow will blow you away with the difference over the Select 2S, but $35 for the Glow is a really good price.

Well if you use custom EQ and keep the lower end of the EQ at a moderate level, then the speaker doesn't have the same issues like it does on some of these signature, boosted EQ's.

I do believe I used that Boom xxX EQ in one of the previous videos. That is supposed to have the most bass boost, so be careful with that one at higher volume.

@@lukabosnjak3829 yeah, on the Earfun site it describes the Boom xxX as having the highest level of bass and SPL.

@@JaysStraightUpReviews that eq is target at the upper bass above 70hz for outdoor use rather than boosting the lower bass spectrum. The bass distorion is worse than that of the Tribit Blast. The blast can distort if the purpose is to play bass test music but most of time I dont hear that much of a distortion with the blast. The blast with custom eq will hit 85 watts while no eq gives you at least 80watts. Its when you plug it to AC you get an additional +1dB for the bass going full 90 watts of power. Blast 2 will use 180 watts on battery and 200 watts at AC mode

​@@JaysStraightUpReviews oluv's EQ was made for neutral performance where frequency levels are well controlled and balanced. This tuning was created for a few audiences who support his work via Pateron, Those who aren't into this can use the Default Earfun Presets Or Create There Own EQ.

@@JaysStraightUpReviews You can tell its louder though, would make more sense to put them both at same perceived volume and just tell us what the volume of each 1 is. That way people can compare the differences in sound quality without having to pause it and change volume themselves

I did actually at a couple points in the video run the UBoomX at a higher volume than the X20. Did you watch the video?

So let me see if I understand what you are stating. These EQ's by Oluv were designed for just a small audience that are his patreon members, despite being available to everyone? On the Earfun website it doesn't state these EQ's are designed with a neutral performance. In fact, the Outdoor and Outdoor Plus are described as bass boosted with broadest stereo enhancement. So if I were a patreon member they would sound different/better? The UBoom X wouldn't have any issues at higher volume if I was a member? One other guy in a different video that was obviously a supporter of Oluv's, maybe it was you, stated the preset-EQ's were all garbage. At any rate, the speaker can sound good for certain, but just using the EQ that fits the setting doesn't automatically make it great or protect it from having upper volume issues.

It always is.....Waiting on the Stormbox Blast 2 to come out and then going with it or the original one.

Maybe a firmware update can do some good. The speaker did have a firmware update right out of the box, however. The UBoom L had some launch issues and they had a firmware update available a bit after, but it was a manual install update since the speaker wasn't app supported.

Glad you got in on that deal I posted for the X20. It's a real powerhouse and at the $200 or less mark it's pretty much the top dog. Not that there aren't some other good speakers in this range and I do think the UBoom X is one of those, it just doesn't like being played loud with a lot of these signature EQ settings.

I haven’t seen the x20 for that price….especially $165….. the x 20 is going for $287 with a $72 discount ..so that’s $215 at its lowest.. I think $165 is BS

Jay that wasn’t directed at you, but I’ve been on top of the price… I want one ,just want to get a sale… maybe a black Friday Amazon sale or if you have a code when amazon does their 20% drop…like I said my comment was directed at the first persons comment…. I bought my storm box blast at $146 a year ago.. now it’s up to $199 on Amazon… was down to $154 yesterday for 3 hour sale… so I’m on it!

I've never been a big fan of the Pulse speakers. I still have the Pulse 5, but have never been happy with it.

@@JaysStraightUpReviews I upgraded to the 4 from the 3. I feel like it was a bit of a downgrade. It looks nicer. But just doesn't seem as loud as my 3. Oh well. I gave the 3 away. The ONN box is replacing my P4 in the garage.

The Willen II is a pretty mediocre speaker from my experience. On the same disappointing level ans the Emberton II.

@@JaysStraightUpReviews really? Damn. I have the willen2 and compared it to the tribit micro 2 and for me the willen had better cleaner sound quality. Although I thought both sound great. The tribit was XTRA impressive cause of the price at only 60$. But I hear ya...

The MiniRoll is a smaller speaker than the old Roll 2, which was quite a bit larger. The MiniRoll only has a single active driver and a passive radiator.
