Really enjoyed this show, wish it hadn't been cancelled. Was leagues better than T3, Salvation and Genysis in my opinion. Kept the feel, themes, and mythos of the first two films and expanded on them. Also really liked the dynamic between John and Cameron, and how she made you wonder if a machine could actually learn what it means to be human, and possibly even have a soul.

I like how this accurately represents Jim cameron's version of the future war from t1 and t2, the same dark and gritty atmosphere.

This scene is very impressive for a TV budget. They've accomplished so much on this show that it would be such a shame if it doesn't get a third season.

I really liked how a TV show was able to bring that same desperate, "humanity is on the brink" feel that was present from the flashbacks in the first 2 movies.

To those complaining about "Terminator Salvation",do you really expect the tactics and atmosphere of the early years of a war to be the same as when it`s nearing its end?

I get what your saying, and understood what they were going for in the film. Early terminators and plasma weapons not in use yet. I’m sure had salvation had a sequel, it would have adopted the aesthetic of the original terminator films. I do think the film would have done better and been a success though if it adopted the T1-T2 aesthetic to start with though because it is more popular. To this day other than what is shown in TSCC and T2 : Battle Across Time, there has never been an extended look at the completely desolated future of the first two films. Genisys tried but they changed too much for it to feel the same. I think a film that is future war and holds true to Cameron’s vision , dark blue tinted wasteland and silver endoskeletons fighting resistance soldiers amidst plasma fire- would do well.
I find this future war scene really good.

Why the tv series does better than high budget movies when making the future war that has the bleak feels like T1 and T2?

Jonathan Jackson as Kyle Reese?!? Oh, I can die happy now! I've been suffering through JJ withdrawal for years, and Kyle is an awesome character to make a comeback for... even if the role was small. Here's hoping they have plans to bring Kyle back in future episodes!

They should do more of this. Love the future scenes in terminator, and they were actually using the right guns too. Which T3 fucked up. everyone standing around cheering with their M4's and MP5's. Weapons that do nothing. This is made of awesome.
the series may be lame, but atleast its future war scene is more intuned with the original terminator movies than in Salvation

according to james cameron's first two films- it states that Skynet wanted to be shut down by humans, so skynet (learning at a geometric rate), defending itself, launches a nuclear attack on Russia, (knowing that Russia will strike back) Russia strikes back, Machines are created by skynet to wipe out remaining human threats, Resistance is formed.
Think they should add more of this future footage.
Here is a question, which I have tried asking in other forums in regards to the Human Resistance and their vehicles.
How does the Human Resistance Tech Com power their vehicles Gasoline I imagine must be scarce, perhaps power cells or something?
And, I disregard T3, so it doesn't exist to me. Like James Cameron, the Terminator series ended with T2.
It doesn't make any sense. Kyle Reese came from a future where the war happened in 1997 not 2003, and a future where the HKs hunt better during the day not night, and he met Connor in a Skynet War Camp where the Resistance was formed not how Salvation was.
And if Reese traveled back from the Salvation timeline and he would've started a new one, because that's not the same Kyle Reese of T1.
And terminator zero is just… 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🙄

No, it was a sequel to T3. Did the war in T4 look like the war in T1&T2? I don't think so.
For starters, the war started in 97 not early 2000s, Reese was born after J-Day way too old in 2018, the Resistance was started in a Skynet war camp where Connor met Kyle, the HKs hunt better during the day not night, Connor had always been the leader, the T-800s were built sometime in late 2020s, Skynet didn't know Kyle was his father, and the T-800s could be destroyed by bombs and molten steel.
Agreed. It just wasn't a terminator film in my eyes. First 2 were superb, third shouldn't have been made by anyone but James Cameron.
@Levelord92 It's called Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It aired on Fox from 2008-2009 for two seasons and 31 episodes and was cancelled, ending on a cliffhanger.

I agree man!:) You know who should of played John connor in T3 insense they didnt want to bring back Edward furlong because of his drug problem. I think Norman Reedus from blade 2 should of played connor insted of Nick Stahl.he looks alittle bit like furlong and he would of been a better replacement. Also, I know linda didnt want to make a come back to the series but they should of ask her twin sister Leslie Hamilton Gearren that was linda double in T2. that would of been cool.

yeah this is a terminology that is really generalized. The term HK IS hunter killer, but, it it also generalizes the fliers and ground units.

It is the series but is not based entirely on the future war, in most of the episodes they show short pieces of that war.

The explaination to why there are no laser guns in terminator salvation is because it's 2018 and not 2029 yet. Skynet hasn't become that advanced. Another explaination is that it is not the future his mother warned him about, it is another.

Man you should have uploaded what happens next!! Also I found a plot hole/problem with the Terminator series: If nothing dead goes through time displacement, then hair and nails shouldn't be present because those are made of dead cells.

@luisalexander70 Well doesn't it make sense? Johns father came from the future, so John was born in the 80s or so, went t the future, and kyle was born in the earlier 2000s. John was already 20-30 by the time Kyle was born, and about 20-30 years futher, John is probably 40-60, and kyle is about 30, kyle goes back to the 80s and impregnates the mother.

I don't want to be the devil's lawyer, but it's a fact that the fate can't be changed. So T3 exist, I know T3 was the worst, but it still happened. Everyone can make their own vision of the terminator's story. The spacetime equilibrium is pretty basic, you can move element, you can add element, you can transform element, but you can't erase element. If the end of the world was written, it will actually happen. ''The Time Machine'' by Simon Wells bring a very good explanation on that. So T1-T2-T3
That movie lacked what the fans and people really wanted. And that's a Real Future War...in fact I cant even come up with a sci fi movie that had a full scale wars one after another...like how Braveheart was made...this is a travesty.

now it burns my gears Terminator movie series should've gone by this concept introducing Derek Reese same way Terminator TSNC series did it would be awesome for Sarah to meet Kyle's brother in the 3rd film instead some lame Terminatix TX and anyone what would be your idea for the alternate version of Terminator 3 with Derek Reese and how would the gang try to shut down Skynet before coming online and how many T-800's they have to fight through out the film ....

I feel the same way. T4 wasn't necessarily bad in my opinion, but it definitely did not have the same post-apocalyptic feel that T1 and T2 had. Where were all the bleached skulls that were supposed to be lying around on the ground? Where were all the starving refugees and people huddled in bunkers?
TSCC managed to replicate a good deal of that on a limited TV budget. Here, it's dark and you can see bones and skulls lying all over the place.

Yeah a damn T.V show on a low budget was able to bring out the same look and feel as the future scenes shown in T1 and T2, and yet, T4, with a fucking 200 million dollar budget felt like shit. Ridiculous man.
I like the purple automatic rapid fire of the terminator 2 better. Awesome better sound, and purple autromatic laser rounds of impending DOOM.
I don't think they live in radiated areas. I think they have geiger counters so they know not to live anywhere that sounds like beep-beep-beep-beep-beep.
@FortitudeOfHeaven In Terminator, if you came from the future and caused a change you would still exist but the future you came from would change.
Take Derek in SCC, in the future he met Andy Goode, the man who created Skynet, so he went back in time and killed him. How could he be dead if he met him in the future and if so wouldn't Derek no longer exist? That's because Derek's existence wasn't changed but the future he came from was changed. This isn't Back to the Future.
I believe they havn't even been invented yet in the T4 Salvation Movie its just a stuiped prequal thingy while this series told it more the way James Cameron wanted it with sarah connner still alive!

You can tell by the way that they keep naming characters in the show for people involved in the original films (Cameron, Ellison, Billy Wisher) that they really respect the masterpieces that were the first two films. T3, however, shit all over them to make some money. It's nothing more than a special effects flick.

@FortitudeOfHeaven I refuse to believe that J-Day can't be stopped. Kyle Reese said "There is no fate but what we make for ourselves" which means the future isn't written and that it can be changed and T2 was all about changing our fate, the T and the Connors fought to save our future and succeeded.
But T3 basically says Kyle Reese was wrong and that the T and the Connors failed. And I refuse to believe that. That's why 3 doesn't exist to me, 1 & 2 are the true T movies, the rest don't exist.

@FortitudeOfHeaven Terminator creator James Cameron intended this series to end with Judgment Day being stopped. To me, the Terminator series ended with T2, J-Day wasn't postponed, they stopped it and I refuse to accept anything else.
With the exception of TSCC, again, if they didn't cancel the show they would've stopped it I'm sure of it, they were leading but they cancelled it and we may never know what would happen.
T3 sucks and it should never have been made.

Yeah, T3 was terrible. The writers didn't even do any research. There were so many mistakes. It was almost like they took a non-canon fanfic and turned it into a film and slapped the franchise title on it!
I consider myself a Cameron loyalist, but I must say I'm really enjoying the show. I think season 2 starts in the Fall.
well if you have virgin media on sky or any other cable network they will screen it in october this year and the series is 15 episodes which is longer.
and heroes season 3 starts in spring too.
