Why Netflix? Why can't Pakistani and Indian organisations do documentaries on their cultural icons? Oh, of course, our organisations would rather fund fueling hatred! How foolish of me!
Growing up in a Hindu family in India, my world was filled with Bollywood, but it was Khan Saab-Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan-who saved me in ways I can’t even explain. There were days when life felt too heavy, and everything seemed too hard. During those moments, I’d put on his qawwalis, and somehow, his voice would reach deep inside me, giving me peace, helping me see things more clearly. Today, I stumbled upon on this video, and it hit me all over again. I couldn’t hold back the goosebumps and the tears. It’s hard to put into words what his music does-it’s something you feel, not just hear. Even in 2024, Khan Saab’s legacy still feels as powerful as ever, like a force that will never fade.
You guys have no idea how much these qawwalis mean for me. i have spent years just listening to Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and i got this taste in Heritage from my father who died 14 years ago. he used to told me stories how he heard him live. and the cherry on top that. most of the Qawwalis are related to Ma'arfat or we call Silsila in Urdu Language and me being part of Chishti Silsila and hearing a Ma'arfana Kalaam recorded by the Ultimate Singer himself is nothing but a once in a lifetime experience. i hope many people like me can relate because there wasn't a singer like him and never will be.
This is truly incredible! How wonderful for all of us Qawwali lovers to listen to a high quality recording accompanied by beautiful new images of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. May his legacy live on. ♥🙏 Much love to all of you who were involved in the process. Pakistan owes you a debt of gratitude.
I hope this album by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan finally wins a Grammy. While his previous albums, 'Intoxicated Spirit' and 'Night Song,' were nominated but didn't win, he certainly doesn't need a Grammy to validate his greatness. Nevertheless, it would be a well-deserved honor for both him and the Grammy Awards.
Nusrat Sahab is to big to Grammy and remember Grammy will give itself to Nusrat Sahab one day once they will culturally appropriate him like Satyajit Ray and similarly other great Artists of South Aisa and global south .

Being from India and learning Qawwali from him Nusrat Sahab is indeed the living gem.❤ People die physically and become Immortal metaphysically. He shall too live and loved forever
Why are tears rolling down my eyes automatically? I was 12 when Nursrat Fateh Ali Khan Passed Away, last album I listed to that time was Afreen Afreen with Javaid Akhtar. Here we go, 27 year later, I still cry
I don't think I've ever been more excited about an album release. Saw Nusrat back in '97 a month before he passed away. We could tell he was ill, but he was magically transformed when he started singing. I'd never experienced anything like it before or since.
In the World of Music. No One Could have and Can Touch his Voice, High notes, low notes, the effect on your mind. Indeed I have heard ton of different musicians from all over the world but may be the greatest of them all was Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. My grand father used to hear him, then my father attended his Qawwali's in Lahore and now KING IS BACK with Chain of Light.
Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab is WITHOUT EQUAL. I have been listening to him for thirty years and deeply addicted to his voice & music, I never listen to FM or other singers because when you dive deep into the ocean, you don't get fascinated to little ponds. Nusrat Sahab is specially blessed soul of God.
Thank you real world for restoring this masterpiece album. Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali khan was a Legend in Music Industry and nobody can touch this height. Miss you The Great Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab.
I’ve a great admiration and respect for Mr. Michael Brook cuz without him we’d have not known the real Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The night songs album is wholesome.
It's nothing but magic that after 3 decades, a lost record and unused portrait suddenly come to light to become part of our silsila-e-noor. Truly grateful for this
Thank you is very little word to confront my feelings to you . May God bless whole the team and , the person who found it may you live long and healthy life ❤️❤️🙏🙏
Honor for me to see the album releasing. No doubt, The Maestro was the greatest vocalist. I love and admire Ustad Ji very much. May Allah bless him with high rank.
May be this is one of those incidents which may never happen again. A music album of a singer to be posthumously (after 34 years) and become the number one album of 2024 ...no words
Thank you Real World and special thanks to Odhran Mullan for finding it.. World needed this.. Listening to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is like feeling the universe speak directly to your soul. His voice transcends time, language, and place, reaching deep into the core of your being, stirring emotions you didn’t know existed. Every note, every breath, feels like a prayer, as though he's channeling something far beyond this world, a pure connection to the divine. His qawwalis carry the weight of centuries of longing, love, and spiritual ecstasy, pulling you into a space where you can lose yourself and find yourself all at once. It’s like his voice holds the entire spectrum of human experience-the ache of separation, the rapture of union, and everything in between. Sometimes, when you close your eyes and surrender to the sound, it feels as if the pain in your heart is being cradled, understood, and soothed. There's a healing power in his voice, a raw vulnerability that makes your soul tremble. His music doesn't just fill a room; it fills your spirit, enveloping you in an ocean of feeling that leaves you breathless. You’re not just hearing a voice; you’re feeling every tear, every smile, every sigh that humanity has ever known.
I have goosebumps and tears in my eyes watching this and realizing we would get some more of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab… thank you for this… can’t explain my gratitude… 🙏

I am 33 now, i was introduced to him by my mom who played Ustad everyday and one day i saw my mom crying when i asked she told me her favourite singer has passed away and this has stuck to me ever since. When i listened qawali it feels like something so pure and heavenly. And even today my day wont go by without listening to Nusrat ji.
She never met him but she was a big fan and we used to have so many tape cassettes. She will put some cassette on and go on her way to do house chores and you could hear ustad ji any where in the house. I use to hate it at that time but some magic started happening as i started understanding lyrics and make my own sense of the quwalli. No other music could ever match the Peace that i get from the NFAK's quwalli. Did you remember google's doodle for Ustad ji ? Felt so nice
My regular five-hour journey from Aylesbury to Cornwall becomes a timeless experience when Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's music plays. His transcendent melodies dissolve the distance, turning every moment into a journey of pure, uplifting bliss.
