    Or you can just actually hold the steamdeck since it has an actual ergonomic design, unlike a certain nintendo product.
    Good video all around, and largely fair to both handhelds, though I think you left out a point of comparison or two.
    Also nice to see someone talking about the steam deck's use cases outside, I don't think I've seen other people talk about it much.

    Unlike the Switch I don't feel like I NEED a separate controller for the Deck, the controls feel so good, I hate playing shooters with the joycons but no issue at all on Deck, even the trackpad works great for shooters too.
    Also I feel like Valve knows most Steam users that would use a separate controller already have one, and for those that don't it's too big a tradeoff getting rid of valuable space for hardware just to have detachable controls.

    • @Skipti_LLC
      @Skipti_LLC  2 роки тому

      The interesting thing is that inside, the hardware for the controllers DOESN'T share space with the CPU or storage. Theoretically, you could cut off the Nautilus controller and the Deck would still work just fine...

    Is the Steam Deck worth using outside or is the glare and anti glare just not worth it? Or even inside which would you prefer?

    This does involve buying more stuff, but I’ve heard adhesive phone kickstands like the ESR Boost phone kickstand work nicely on the deck. For controllers I also use the 8bitdo SN30 pro which is the SNES-style one with joysticks but no handles; I love it and it’s super compact although nowhere near as comfortable as a pro controller but 8bitdo sells some really nice travel controllers

    You lost me at the Desk only having 1 advantage over the Switch. You can have the best system in the world, but if your games suck, who cares. The Deck can play every game I am interested in playing, but in the event that my 13 year old niece wants to play a Switch game, I can emulate that as well.

    Honestly the OLED Switch isn't really a comparison to me, most people who wanted a Switch already had one so I guess it only applies to someone who has neither system.
    If I were to choose between spending £300 on a second Switch just for an OLED screen or using that money to get a Deck I'm gonna get a Deck.
    Also the airplane thing doesn't make sense, the joycons don't work when detached if the system is in Flight mode anyway so with either system you'd just be holding it.

    • @maxhalo369gaming4
      @maxhalo369gaming4 2 роки тому

      If I'm honest I've only ever used the Switch with the kickstand maybe 3 times in the 5 years I've had one so the Deck not having one isn't an issue.

      Explanation: Just like on PCs, we can create fully functional development environments on the Deck, we can add a multitude of drivers to support our devices, we can compile or install the programs we want and freely maintain/change the internal components ( let's not forget the great modding support). Again, all by default. So the deck is a complete, flat computer, it doesn't come crippled from the factory like consoles - it doesn't suppress diversity as a basis.
      Oh, and it runs PC games... And almost all other consoles, because it's a PC.
