I recently started going to the roller rink again and I opted for quads since they were cheeper to rent and I didn't have wrist guards, and it wasn't too bad getting back into the swing of things. Except I kept subconsciously trying to do lemon drops and that didn't work very well. 😂
So what I got from this is make a pair of skates that have 8 wheels per shoe Have 4 wheels on each side of each shoe so I can get the advantages of both variants
I used inline skates to get from point A to point B in New York City, which was fine. I just got my quads, thinking that it was going to be simple to learn since I had my previous experience blading... The balance is so different that I couldn't make it even half a block. I had to take them off to get to the park where I practiced on level ground. On the way back, I felt strong enough to skate but it was a struggle. Let's see what I can achieve in 30 days...
Generally inlines are easier, but if your older and or heavier, your ankles might hurt on inlines and your better off on the quads first. I was 46 and probably 120kgs then but I found my ankles fine on inlines and haven't looked back. I believe if you start out on quads you may strengthen your ankles over time allowing you to progress to inlines. At the same time you might lose some weight reducing the pressure more also. Inlines are inherently more stable and more versatile on more outdoor surfaces, such as esplanades
I tried quads but I kept falling and couldn’t get anywhere with them on yet inlines are so much easier to balance and to skate with. The second I put them on I was going super fast.😊
Please make more videos for roller skates 😢 There are more on roller blades but very few on roller skates. I'm learning skates watching ur videos please help me with more roller skate videos 😭 🙏🙏🙏
As a kid in the 80s I learned on quads at school skate parties. Then I learned to ice skate a bit. Then in the 90s my neighborhood bestie got inlines so I got some too and we spent many happy summer days blading around the neighborhood and park. Trying to teach my kids to skate now, I started them on quads, but they are having a really rough time with it! We sadly don't have a rink nearby and they're struggling without a railing to cling to lol. I've just ordered them some inlines because I think the balancing might be easier for them, especially since we are only able to skate on sidewalks and parking lots. Crossing my fingers lol.
Also just in terms of transferable skills, I think inlines give you more versatility. Inlines are so similar to ice skating and even skiing! I went on a ski trip as an adult, a good 10-15 years since I had last bladed, and felt like skiing was so similar to inlines. Very similar balance, turning, propulsion, even braking. So I think if someone has already ice skated or been skiing, or would like to someday, inlines will give you a leg up on those skills over quads.
I never understand when people say inlines are easier. Quads are objectively easier to balance on. I’m convinced people just like the look of inline skates bc besides speed they’re the inferior skate. Roller skates are more versatile. Genuinely the only drawback is they’re slower then inlines. But quads are easier to balance on, easier to do tricks on, easier to do dance moves on, they’re smoother. Idk I really don’t get besides just going really fast why people like inlines so much more. It took me twice as long to learn how to use inline skates as well, quads took no time to learn. (I learned how to skate on both at the same time as well)
I learned quads then inlines had an easier time on inlines, I was younger my first pair of quads were probably shit my first pair of inlines were Bauer more comfortable and felt better I think inlines for me I didn't have to adjust anything and the quads probably needed adjusting etc but I was 11 yr old so didnt understand the ins and outs back then
I loved skating inlines because the control was better, but they made my feet hurt soooo bad😢 anyone else have this problem? After a few minutes my feet would go like half numb and just buuurn
Hi Polly! I've been following your channel here and on tiktok for a while... You make me want to start skating again! That's why I'm turning to you for a little help. About 10 years ago, I skated a lot with inline skates. I want to start again but I don't know if I should restart with inline or squad skates? If I learned with rollerblades, will squad skates difficulty? What kind of inline and squad skates do you recommend for a restarter? I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for answering! Best wishes, Norah, from Hungary
Well when I started the first time skating was on some old gifted roler blades .Then I got new one s but they wasn t roller blades ,they were roller skates and they were made of plastic it was hard to skate then I got my first and beat roller blades! Since that day I started to skate the first time I'm still skating today! Is RLLY fun! ✨
I wanna do inline but i found quads my mom bought for me (or my brother?) years ago apparently And it feels wasteful to buy another pair of skates when i have something..
What’s better for a Roller Rink?? I’m have chose roller blades over Skates since I was like 11 but I don’t know if I should wear them to a roller rink.
And there’s lots of different kinds in-line blades, rollerskates, quads, hockey skates and another one. I can’t remember the name and the ones you connect to your shoe
I like inlines better, but everyone who skates has their own preference on what is easier.
💯 exactly!! 🫶

Inlines for outdoors, quads for roller rinks
THISSSS
@Argelis77Memes it’s my personal preference

Is it easier that way for you?
@@zeydakidd1437 idk, but theres only one way to find out.

@@Rotsly Tbh i would say inlines
Thanks for helping us!
Happy to help!🫶🙏🤙
Hey this helped a lot and now I am a pro online skater
Yay!!!
🤣
I love my quads, but it is noticeably more difficult to skate outdoors (quickly) with quads versus skating with inlines.
I tried quads but I kept falling and couldn’t get anywhere with them on yet inlines are so much easier to balance and to skate with. The second I put them on I was going super fast.😊

I like inlines since it's unusual, which makes it fun to learn
Oooh I love this POV 🙌🤗
I love tutorials like this! I want to be a pro skater I've only got the basics😅😅
You can do it!
I'm glad the schools I went to gave basic training for both types
That’s awesome!!!
That dress is so cute

Out-of-line skates are actually the hardest. Having one foot with wheels going sideways is really tough.

Omggg I have the same rollerskates❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love them!!!! I want one in every color haha

Oh yay! So fun and exciting!
I just got some inlines after using quads for about a year and I'm going to see what I perfer
Love that!
How was it? Which one do you think is better?
I personally prefer quads since cmon i aint really going anywhere. I would roller skate for stres relief and peace so i choose quads.
Valid ☮️
Inlines are my worst fear so not them-
lol oh no!
I wanna do inline but i found quads my mom bought for me (or my brother?) years ago apparently And it feels wasteful to buy another pair of skates when i have something..
Inlines sound easier, plus theyre faster, more bonuses, too.
💯☺️
But first we need quads cause for kids it's easy and if we learn it we can use it outdoors aswell
Most the time I use them both at the same time
Love that

Equal at a roller rink!! Rollerskates are more popular but blades are super fun there too!
@@PollySkates ok Thank you!!! ❤️❤️
I thought abt the other quads
SAME BAHAHAHA
I have inline i didnt try the other i like the inline better
Hell yeah
I dont know how to roller skate but i know how to roller blade
Inliner easier than Quads
I mean I looove roller blading but it’s just so unaesthetic 😩
I’m confused about the shoes of skating so which one is the best plz ?
