Shine Forth yes it is. This takes place in South Carolina, and if I’m not mistaken, they are still recovering from the recent hurricane. Please tell me if I’m wrong, but if that’s the case, then she is taking advantage of people who are already hurting. Also, the tickets for her February 24 show in LA cost over $500. This really makes me sad.

      @tyeishaleisure 6 років тому +1

Shine Forth you are absolutely correct. The gospel is free for everyone. No price could or should ever be put on his love for us. Honestly, she may have a nice voice, but when I look at her, I don’t see Jesus in her. If that sounds judgmental, I’m sorry, but for me, I just don’t see it. I have read everything I can on her and have watched several interviews wit her including these recent ones, and I can’t see Jesus in her, and her taking advantage of these people just add to this for me. As Christians, we are supposed to help the ones who are hurting, not take advantage of them.

Like other believers on this thread I am tempted to criticize her for not mentioning her faith, but then I remember all of the times that I was given an opportunity to share my faith but remained quiet. I am also tempted to criticize every judgmental believer here for their unkind words, but then I remember how I catch myself in thoughts and words of self-righteousness every single day. I am furthermore tempted to lose heart over the fact that both types of criticism damage our reputations as believers, but then I remember that God, the creator and sustainer of the universe, does not need me, you, or Lauren Daigle to accomplish His purposes. In the end, I am simply grateful to him for giving her such a beautiful voice and message, and for every person who has received encouragement and a clearer view of his character through her music.

The problem with most Christians is they are answering questions that aren't even being asked. It comes off as spiritually arrogant, condescending and ugly to nonbelievers. Lauren is answering correctly and is wise. Her gift is quite evident and the Holy Spirit draws people like a hook thru her music. Not interviews. If she just sat there and said God God God....the ears of many would seal off and never listen. She's using tact and discernment. Keep up the great work Lauren. God Bless

@@norakotze6610 , The Pharisees wanted to kill Jesus because he was a "friend of tax collectors and sinners." When he encountered the woman at the well, he didn't immediately say, "I am Jesus, and you need to repent." He talked to her about living water. He used the circumstances of her own life and the context of their conversation to reveal something about himself and about the nature of his grace. Only after a lengthy personal conversation did he reveal who he was. In numerous other instances, Jesus intentionally taught through parables that did not mention God or himself at all. He used these parables to open his listeners' minds to deeper truths. Every song isn't a sermon. And every interview is not a spiritual discussion. Some sow the seeds. Some water. And others harvest. Everything I've seen in Lauren Daigle's career so far gives evidence that she is constantly sowing, sometimes watering, and no doubt reaping souls for Christ.

We as Christians LOOK out for influential voices like this to stand for what we believe and mention His name at any given opportunity. It’s not judging, it’s anticipation followed by disappointment and sadness. Jesus is who we stand for, it’s why we are here, and if someone who carries His name is ashamed to use it in exchange for people to like them, then we need to point it out and admonish our brother or sister. THATS love. Pray for Lauren. She’s such a sweet and great person. This world is designed to tear her spiritual life apart.

Every song every lyric every nuance denotes of the existence and Glory of God. We should never be hypocritical because if you don’t speak of Christ or God in everything you do you cannot then cast a stone at Lauren and say she has forgotten God. Focus on YOUR own discipleship. I'm sorry, any complaint about Lauren Daigle not mentioning her faith and Jesus Christ is valid. Look at the particular question: Why should people listen to my music? They need hope and unity. She spoke about love. What hope? What unity? What love? Where is the grace and love of Jesus Christ (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9) that is able to save sinners from the wrath of God to come (Revelation 20:11-15)? If we have an opportunity in a secular interview to mention the name of Christ, the gospel, or our testimony, we should do so. Maybe she was nervous or maybe they edited some stuff out, but the brunt of her answers seemed to flow without editing.
She answered many things from a secular viewpoint and if you didn't know she was a Christian already, you wouldn't know she was a Christian at all by this interview. Of the 11 things we should know about Lauren Daigle, we should know that she wants lost souls to come to Jesus Christ. Because if the hope in her songs stop someone from committing suicide (which is good) but doesn't lead them to the cross, they will only die later and go to hell. Not trying to be hard on her, but we have to be prayed up for these type of interviews and not just think our smiling faces and sweet answers will make the sinner go running to Jesus Christ without mentioning His death on the cross and resurrection.

I believe what I believe, but if it's put in my heart to testify, I hear these words in my mind. "Know your audience." Who cares how someone is Saved, as long as they are? Who are we to care HOW someone is brought to the Lord? It's by His grace, not ours.

For those disappointed that Lauren didn't tell people about God in her life- God is what her music is known for! These are questions asked by Billboard, a secular viewpoint. If you were talking to someone who didn't believe in Jesus as their Lord and saviour, you might not mention God or Jesus in every second sentence before connecting with them as a human being. I think she answered so gracefully and passionately. I love that if she had any wish in the world she'd start an orphanage or the like. @gc1438 6 років тому +3

@M S Jesus told us how to judge, so it seems that judgment is permitted by God. He said, "do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment." If things aren't always what they seem, why would we be surprised or insulted when hard questions are asked of us or others. If Jesus said wolves will be among the sheep and that some who claim to do great works in His name are not truly His, using Jesus's standard, I wonder why you wouldn't expect that discernment should go deeper than assuming someone loves God or are doing things in His name simply because they say it is so. That being said, a forum where people make judgments about another individual's character and spirituality based on a comment or two, is clearly not the best place to ask and process these questions.

@sharrayon cartright True, the "Name" Yeshua, but let's not get into the Greek and start splitting hairs because a child of God did not fulfill your expectation of what a witness should be. I think love and hope, and her entire music career speaks of Jesus. The aroma she gives off is that of Jesus, whereas some who speak the Name of Jesus in a prideful, arrogant, "I'm better than you, and you need Jesus" tone, give off a foul aroma to those who are lost. God judges the heart. What amazes me is that we are even talking about this, and meanwhile the lost are....

If she could have one thing in the world it would be the power to better help orphans? How is that not worship that’s what we Christians are called to do! When they asked her trivial questions like "what are her favorite types of music" thats obviously a question that doesn't really have a way to glordiy God. But when she was asked things like "if your life was a book what would it be named" or "why should people listen to your music" those were perfect moments to glorify God and remind everyone what she is. A "Christian" singer. There are a plethora of other interviews in which she has the chance to and doesn't take it. Instead saying things like "where's the party?" She also called Mardi Gras "the best thing " you can see her true colors. A sellout to the mainstream, done in the name of Christ. Its a shame, she's very talented and think she could touch countless more with her platform. Boldness in faith and sharing is our calling from Christ as his followers. We should use EVERY chance to give it to him.

Maritza Nunez I must agree. Also, are you aware that Lauren recorded a song for the movie the shack which DepictsGod as a black human woman. She did an interview about this and basically said that she loves that God can appear in the form that we want him to. Also she recorded the song called almost human for the movie blade runner 2049. This movie is rated R and contains violence, heavy sexual content, smoking, and profanity including the F word, and several other things including taking the Lords name in vain. Both of these movies came out in 2017. I’m sorry, but none of this is Christian no matter how much per Fants want to say it is.. also, I don’t mean to sound judgmental when I say that, but that’s what IC, and I’m not going to stay here and condone that a Christian artist recorded a song for a R-rated movie. Also, answering question smartly when your Christian is not the way to go. If you are at Christian artist, your job is to spread the gospel, and answering smartly does not mean you are spreading the gospel. When you answer smartly, most likely you were doing that please rather than uplift.

Tell me... if this had been an interview with a brick mason, and the interviewer asked, "Tell me which brick masons inspire you" would you expect her to start talking about Jesus? It's just completely illogical. Singing is an art form. The question was about which artists inspire her. This is the issue with many Christians. They don't know how to have an authentic conversation. There is no mandate in the Bible that any time a Christian sings, it has to be about God. Or that every time we have a conversation with someone we need to shoe-horn God's name into literally every response. Discipleship is about building relationships and being an authentic human being first, and a mouthpiece second.

Today is March 4th. For myself I love your music Lauren, and when your song "You Say", first came out I was the 1st one who posted regarding my suicide experience. The response was over flowing with love. Since all the controversy about you came out I truely try to keep an open mind.I love the lord with my whole heart and soul and feel that you are just immature and a baby in Christ and need to grow. If your heart is truely with the lord then at one point you will start giving God more glory for the powerful message in your music. If you can reach the secular music industry, then you are right where God wants you. I understand the crazy pressure you are under, but at some point even at secular events and Awards, as a child of God. Giving God the Glory should be part of your response, because this is where you can minister to the lost and secular world. Giving God glory for your music shouldn't be shameful and I pray you become more comfortable and mature enough that at these events you find the streagth to Say God is the reason behind my message in my songs, not just words of hope and love. When you grow in the Lord you should be more comfortable saying Gods name in interviews. I will continue to pray for u.

I went to her concert 2 days ago in Huntsville, AL and I have to say she put on a good show but I was very disappointed. So much in fact that I didn't really enjoy it. She actually sang 2 secular songs which shocked me. I stopped listening to secular music 2 years ago, partially because of her. They also played secular music over the speakers as people came into the arena. I sure pray the limelight isn't pulling her in. I think it's also sad she didn't give God any credit on this video, but at the same time that could've been edited out by someone afterwards. I'll keep praying for her.

I went to her concert in Sept 18 and I LOVED that she sang other songs that many, many of us know and love. Music is about JOY and that's what I get from her music. Just because I love Lauren's music, doesn't mean I can't enjoy other secular music. She got her inspiration from Aretha and Stevie, so of course she would want to sing some of their stuff. Aretha sang gospel and secular, and she was...ARETHA!

I too have not listened to secular music for years, our church has done some secular songs before a message and it really upset me they said it was to connect with the unsaved....I think church & christian music influence is becoming more and more watered down. If we aren’t standing out apart from the world then what are we doing? I did a video about Lauren and I was kind of defending her knowing that maybe billboard edited out her mentioning the gospel but I also shared that I think she’s compromising. It’s sad:( praying she doesn’t lose her soul to gain popularity in the process. I pray people come to know Christ through her music still🙏🏻. Don’t turn into Katie Perry and abandon your roots for the world. Afraid that’s exactly where it’s going. Her music will become more secularized. Guaranteed

I agree. In her words, she says other people labeled her a Christian artist, not her. Pretty sad. I also heard in another interview where she said God could possibly be a woman.

Man there are some harsh Christians on here, and some wonder why some see Christians as hypocrites....ripping into a Christian for something about God she didn't say. Sad. Probably the same people who wonder why church attendance drops. I wouldn't want to attend with judgmental whiners either.

No I don't wonder why. Jesus said in the last days people would want their ears tickled and they would be lovers of themselves... Not lovers of Jesus. No matter how much they claim that. Jesus also said there would be many in churches who aren't really His. So not every church and individual who says they represent Christ actually do.

She does, you can't say she doesn't because of a edited 2 minute video where God isn't mentioned.

shes at fault for all this arguing among believers...this is part of the reason why she shouldve just turned the interview down...these are the types of things that make people think they are saved when they are not

@@nathanjplatt, I was addressing your comment about church attendance. Although... Paul did call the Corinthians to examine themselves to see that they were in the faith. This after all his history with them and at the very end of his second (if not third) book - length letter. Meaning, after seeing all their errant ways and spiritual immaturity, he loved them enough to have them check their hearts and be sure of what they said they believed. Look at the book of 1 John. Many "say", but are they doing?
People don't want to hear that they are depraved and wicked and need a savior... Or that perhaps their decisions and behavior are not reflecting the character of God as we are called to do. They just want to be affirmed. Throughout Scripture it is clear that God is holy, HE is just. And He is love. He loves us enough to conform us to the image of His Son. Not tell us how wonderful we are in our sin... or approve of sacrifices that reflect what we want to be or what we want to give (like Cain), instead of what God has called us to be and give to Him.
