I just came back from Seoul yesterday. I spent two weeks there and I was constantly surprised how safe, clean and efficient Seoul was and the food was very inexpensive, twice cheaper than where I live in Orange County, California. I really loved the no tipping for restaurants, taxis, beauty salons, etc.
One of the greatest advantages of South Korea as a travel destination is its ability to efficiently explore both time and space. Being one of the safest countries in the world, visitors can freely roam even during late evening hours. Moreover, with an excellent transportation system, any destination in South Korea can be reached within three hours, and the transportation costs are also very affordable haha.
You are having a fun and happy time in Korea. Besides Seoul, there are many great travel destinations for romance and local food, so I hope you visit many of them before returning.^^
Hello, Charming JJ Couple! I have appreciated your joyful guide on the foods & streets of Seoul, Korea! So great! You look to be in a heavenly safe place there! Thank you again! Good luck!😊🥰👍
Are you guys enjoying the "No tipping" culture in Asia? And also there are many All You Can Eat Korean BBQ places. You are guarantee to be full. A place I recommend is in Hongdae called "MEATING"
If you're looking to explore a traditional market in Seoul, I'd suggest opting for Gyeongdong Market over the crowded tourist hub of Gwangjang Market. Gyeongdong Market has gained popularity among locals for its affordability and mouthwatering offerings. It's best to steer clear of Gwangjang Market, where prices tend to be higher for foreigners.
I am Korean... That translator's ability is so great... Because the Korean(?) level of the Korean(?) in the Korean role is very awkward. But it's so amazing that the translator understands and translates it... hahaha...
At the night market the sweet dessert you had was hotteok (a type of donut, not a pancake). Korean pancakes are called jeon (always savoury) and I hope you try them - great with makgeolli. Also I recommend you try naengmyun (cold noodles). It is a unique dish that originates from North Korea.
Always smart to go with your server's recommendations. Unlike in North America the servers don't make tips, so it's not like they are trying to upsell to increase their tip. Btw you can ask for more lettuce/ greens. I was impressed that Jenny knew to put the wrap in her mouth in one (all in one rule in Korea).
It was delicious, we are so glad we went with her recommendation! And thank you so much, we learned that the last time we were in Korea :) it all tastes so good together in one bite!
To write a little bit about security and safety, we too are scared to climb the mountain alone late at night. Other than that, most things are okay. If I don’t play at night, when will I play?
I love how your videos exude enthusiasm and bonafide enjoyment in life. Genuinely happy faces make me feel happy too just by watching. But I hope the Korean transliteration of the word, 'Ra-Myon' is used instead of the Japanese word, "Ramen". Thanks.
The Korean food you should try is garbijjim
Did you experience theft at the airport? I’m Korean but from Sweden. I’ve flown to Incheon twice and every time I fly back… they tell me to wait in a chair for 5 min after checking in my bag, saying that they check all the bags for security reasons which is ok. When my bag arrived I could see that it had been opened because the zip is not in the lock. Twice they stole makeup, clothes and jewellery… I mean the security people that were suppose to open and check my bag. Also my mothers bag was open and they stole a new Prada bag from her. It’s so odd.. because the country is so safe. Cameras everywhere, but maybe they really need it there to not commit crimes lol! I’ve traveled to poor countries and been almost everywhere without ever anyone stealing from my luggage. I’m Korean, but Koreans seem to like stealing if they get the chans to do so without cameras watching. Ps. They only stole brand items… don’t leave them in your luggage. Don’t buy expensive stuff there to bring home. They’ll just steal from you. 😅😂
I believe we will meet someday as you like Korea! Have nice journey!
The Timekettle device was definitely not created by Korean speakers as it uses a very casual form of speech that is considered very rude between strangers. I would definitely test it on bilingual English/Korean speakers before using any translation device.
Street foods in Myongdong are very expensive. It's solely arranged for the foreign traveller only I guess. I hope travellers evade them. Locals don't buy it. Enjoy them in your naked eyes only and satiate your desire to eat in another less-populated places.
Foreigners say that Korea is safe because of CCTV. Then do Paris or the United States not have any CCTV? Korea is only the 50th country to have a CCTV. It is because of national character and education. I can't understand foreigners who think it is natural to steal and hurt people. It is hard to understand foreigners who think it is amazing to walk alone on the night streets. As a Korean, I am just afraid to travel abroad. Why is it natural to take other people's things in public??
Myeongdong and Gwangjang market are two of the most notorious places in Seoul for foreigners😂😂 Too expensive and too low quality… But if you had good time there, after all, good for you! + I am Not judging… but Even if drinking alcohol outside is not prohibited, people usually never drink soju on the street unless you are homless or alcoholic😂 Hope you enjoyed time in KR. I enjoyed your video as a foreigner’s pv
