My brother had a 71 340 Cuda with dual point ignition and headers and a Holley 780 carb and black shaker hood. It was one sweet car and could tow our 18 foot boat. You just could not beat the looks of a 71 Cuda. with a Black Shaker. It was painted GY3 Curious Yellow and was a real looker to and fun to drive. I raced more 70 & 71 Camaros with it and won most of the time.

Best muscle car ever made, no argument about it. The 'Cuda is KING!

The cars of this era wear the greens and browns perfectly. Nice car! Thankyou for sharing these cars!

I like that colour because it tones down at night and would hide the Hemi billboard and make the shaker scoop very subtle .
It would fool people that tried to race you from a light thinking it was a normal V8 , that's until they see you smoke the tires up to 40 mph. '

Extremely Nice color and convertable. I use to have a orage 383 cuda' i liked the 4 headlights at night step on the high beams and it lit up the road and ditch around the road. The 4 headlights really helped at night. Only on 71' cudas.

Plymouth made 11 71HEMI Cuda converts in which only 7 were sold in the states. One rich bastard has the 1st and the 11th HEMI Cuda convert

Back in High school my friend wanted me to stop my car and get out so he could touch the 1971 Hemi Cuda convertible that was park by a restaurant which I had seen before park there at night.
This was around 1973 , the car was Orange with a white top and white inside except for the dash , carpet , and console unit . The Billboard was white and it had the shaker hood scoop .
The car was in Canada , but I checked the records and I was told that this car didn't exist in that colour as a hemi cuda.
It wasn't a clone because this was only 1973 , it had all the markings and a mechanical Tach because of the automatic transmission for accuracy on the RPM's.
I'm not sure if the Windsor Plant pumped out Hemi cuda's for Canada, but my friend touched the car and we saw it there as well a my self seeing it a few times during the summer since i lived near by.

@@garywood9525 I saw a 71 Challenger convertible that had R/T stripes and a hemi engine but the original owner ordered the car and the hemi engine at the same time so when the car came in the dealer installed the hemi engine and R/T stripes because they didn't sell R/T convertible in 71.

I knew an 18 year old had a sub lime on white one. He drove it into the ground. I had no idea it was 1 of 17!

Really handsome spec here of perhaps the most attractive muscle car of the era. Will they make a new one? No comment on the chassic flex of these verts, how bad is it?

That luggage rack ruins the car for me. I can't stand those ugly luggage racks, even though this one was probably an original option on this car.

I thought there were eleven Hemicuda convertibles for that year? Oh well, I like the color. Not so much of the auto transmission or luggage rack.

Odd no sports mirror on the passenger door. & no chrome valve covers. & that they went back to 2 headlites for '72-4, lookin more like a 1st gen '67-8 rs camaro with the headlite covers open.

I wonder if anyone ever ordered a Cuda with the slant 6? I know that the regular Barracuda came with them but it just seems weird someone would order a Cuda with a 6 cyl engine.

    • @johnnytyler5685
      @johnnytyler5685 3 роки тому +1

There are no slant 6 Cudas! The base engine for the Cuda was the 383 and the smallest engine you could order in the Cuda was the 340.

Beautiful color, it changed colors from tan to gold with slight green glaring through! I had a half faded Tawny Gold 1971 Imperial LeBaron back in the early eighties and the color still changed in the shade and sunlight where the paint wasn't faded! It's actually a sharp color!
