Im a Romanian and i have one thing to say. I see a lot of People saying that The Romanian metro looks old. All i have to say îs that IT gives a coazy athmosphere cuz newer metros are more... Intimidating.. In my opinion
dear people from other countrys i am for bucharest and i know what i talk about. this is the cleanest fastest and most reliable way of travel through out the city. trust me you don't want to be in a RATB bus/tram in the summer at rush hours. i lived it and it's not the best feeling in the world. the subway is 10 times better
It's deffinetly better than the Bulgarian Subway. But we should be greatful that we Have that transport. As Bulgaria,Greece and Romania are the only countries on the Balkans who have that kind of Transport line.
The Bulgarian metro stations they are much cleaner and renovated then the ones in Bucharest which they may fall on people soon. On the other side Bucharest metro has much more modern trains than Sofia. P.S. Another video which it shows very clear how much money the Metrorex (Romanian Metro Operator) are stealing from public budget: the stations are looking like after a bombardment! I am surprised that actually they buy new trains, but for sure they have a big piece of “pie” from there otherwise they will never do that! Disgusting!
I work in the signalling department there. Trains are ATP/ATO equipped and either built by Bombardier or CAF, but using the same system. You should check the M4 line, some of the stations are brand new.
This metro looks ancient and honestly I like exactly that. New metros don't have that particular smell of time. This one seems like built during the communist era... Hope to visit it next year.
the subway itself was built in 79’ by the comunists... but the bombardier and CAF trains are built in the 2000’s, the only trains that are there since the comunist era are the IVA trains on line 4
well it is romania.... :) .... they do not care about this things... what if it happens to be late at work and you must run down on the escalators catching the subway and your path is stucked by some idiots who do not respect the RIGHT SIDE PLEASE! sign...
Małgosia Grabowska I don`t blame people who stand in the left side since escalators aren`t made to walk or to run. They are made just for standing! If someone is in a rush, he/she will go by the normal stairs...
I like the trains, but the stations ant the entrance look old, poor and dirty :X also no one respect the way that should be used escalators ;X check up the metro in Sofia it's super clean
+Radoslav Atanasov Ok ok we understand .. Sofia have better metro line but you missed something : Sofia Metro officially launched in 1998 and Bucharest officially launched in 1979! Bucharest Metro line is older , bigger and have a 700.000 daily riders compared to 400.000 in Sofia! Have a nice day :)

Ayano Aishi agreed
and even in the winter the RATB is the worst trust me......
Love Bucharest!
The entryway... the graffiti on some walls... reminds me of the New York subways before Rudy Giulianni took office as mayor.

Mishondri Godlift Romania is located in Eastern-central Europe. What does it have to do with the Balkans except a few influences?

Suntem la Universitate in statia metrou, intram frumos la peronul metroului si astemtam sa vina metrou. Este frumos aici dar se cam aglomereaza rău...

TranceElevation it was built in the communist era.
Finished in '79

que hermosos trenes , por qué no trajeron mejor esos a mi ciudad ? en vez de eso nos trajeron unos trenes CAF que no son tan simpáticos como estos pf
Those trains rather look like BART in San Francisco, or Airtrain at JFK Airport
Bucharest is the BEST :))
lol ma? si aici
As i can see people in Bucharest don't respect the RIGHT side on the escalators, they just stay in wich side they want :) ....
Yeah, it's fucking horrendous.
well it is romania.... :) .... they do not care about this things... what if it happens to be late at work and you must run down on the escalators catching the subway and your path is stucked by some idiots who do not respect the RIGHT SIDE PLEASE! sign...
