Hi Sweetwater, I enjoyed watching your videos, I really love your channel, that DW Mapa Burl Exotic Jazz Series is so gorgeous, I love the tone of that drums, that's my dream drumset, I hope I'll get that someday, I want that to become my 1st drumset.
MrMemes not Sweet Water here, but I don’t blame you! It’s a beautiful drum set. However I would absolutely recommend something different for a first drum set. You’re gonna end up banging it up in all sorts of different ways, playing shows and giging, having friends over that will mess around with it. If I have (rather when I get) a lot like this, it’s going to live in a room locked away from anyone else. Too expensive and luxurious to just let anything happen to it. But that’s just my opinion. I would recommend something PDP for your first 😊 cheers!
nice video bro ( Nick ) I think you are the best in explaining and reviewing I love your videos :) but could you do a video about the vintage series by sonor , that would be amazing 😉
Tiger Tobi no they lie, they use editing softwares to make the kits sound better, Dwight snares have a bad ring to then, no ring in this and he doesn't even have moongel or rings on the head.
Dark Shadows Reviews no he does not he says that he tries to get the drums to their most natural sound. Nick just is great at tuning the drums and the way he plays so well that it makes it hard to for the drums to not sound good.
hey nick v i think the purpleheart dw is one of my fav wood snares out it sounds like its lightly whoopin ass i really like the 14x8 nickle over brass dw the coppers are nice and 90s 5x14 that's kinda it for the dw snares theres others that are cool but those are my 3(+copper is a7 or 8 of 10 sound imo) preference of dw snares... these jazz series are great kits but im sold on tama star and sonor delite although id loove to own a dw jazz in that yellow you have or the tiffany baby blue color they had.
Nick, one thing I'd like to know is how you feel about that new MacBook Pro for recording. Has it been working out well as far as speed when you start adding plug-ins and track count gets up above 20? Do you also use it for click track? I'm thinking about the 15" version 512Gb SSD, but wanted you get a drummers perspective before I chat with my Sweetwater Sales Engineer. Thanks, Eric

This has to be the best sounding drum set I have ever heard.
very nice ....
That kit sounds absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the review Nick (and Sweetwater)!!!
Sweetwater has great drum porn. Hiring Nicky D. as their first-call drum demo guy was a great marketing move. NDV is a gifted musician.
Thanks for another
great review Nick!

sticks45 Oh ok
please do a video about sonor drums
Mmm don't believe they carry that brand.
No info on the bearing edges on the video or website. I’m assuming they are 30 degree outer

How is the tuning in this video, low, mid....? Have you suggestions to reduce the strainer vibrations due to 10"tom?many thanks

Not sure who I envy more Alex Legend,Prince Yashua or this guy
If Sully Erna and Tim Kennedy had a baby it’d look like Nick for sure
