I am trying to grow algae on a nutrition base obtained from dead leaves and agriculture waste extract , after that this algae can be heat killed and fermented using yeast to obtain ethanol which can be mixed in Petrol or gasoline . Your both video on algae are amazing 👏 😍 this is going to help me a lot
This is a weird compliment but I really dig this guys painted nails. Cool colors, but also watching his video's you can tell when and where he places his hands and any kind of specific motor skills of the hand can be seen easily (in other words, the nails being painted provides directional information, which is great for beginners like myself!)
Yeah... I live in Chicago and I grow a bunch of fruit and I have been planning on creating an indoor/outdoor spirulina farm in my basement. This is something I have been planning for a while. Great video. If I ever make my basement spirulina farm, I'll try to send you pictures somehow.
@@jovenusdivine503 If you're thinking, “But I only eat organic brown rice … surely that's healthy,” you're in for a surprise: Inorganic arsenic is found in the outer husk of rice grains, which stays intact on brown rice, meaning there's more arsenic in brown rice than in white rice.
Great job on this Will! Bought your practical phycology book and supported your Cordy cultivation 2.0 book. Got the book and liquid culture a few weeks ago and I'm expanding it now 🍄💙
I watched a few of your videos saying that it uses salts I was wondering could you use epsom salts would that benefit the bacteria incorporating in the fertilizer regiment.
want to start an algae farm here in Roseburg, Oregon. I think it would be excellent fish food for fish farms too. I also give it to my horses and animals. Lets make an algae cook book.can you teach how to grow chlorella, a bit harder to grow.
Could you speak on the digestive shock of eating it that causes diarrhea and how to mitigate it best? I sourced the Pure Hawaiian brand rather than the mass marketed cheaper brands sourced from China and still got impacted.
I would think that is a temporary thing? My guess on this would be start with a teaspoon per day and build it up. I cannot imagine this being a permanent issue. Hope that helps
Quick question, does cooking it (heating it) kill the microorganisms and/or benefits of Spirulina? Much like vegetables lose some or most of their nutrition when boiling/steaming/grilling (heating) it as opposed to eating it raw. Just wanted to confirm that heating/cooking Spirulina doesn't negate its benefits. Thanks...
Have you got a weight/volume for how much you produce per day per volume of container they are in? So like for a 1000 litres of water how much Spirulina would you get per day?
Dude iv seen you pop up so many times I love your work man like holy shit the stuff you know and how fast you can pick things up love your work man truly do Could you show use how to make it in to a biofuel
I live in a van with a cat but I wanted to present a serious business idea many Americans would purchase .... 'hard kombucha' possibly with .... A spirulina additive.....
Could Spirulina or other microalgae be genetically modified to be even more versatile? Like somehow getting rid of the green pigments at the end of the lifecycle or on some chemical command? Or changing the taste / flavor profile? So it taste maybe like wheat or more starchy to be made directly into pasta, or maybe like tomato soup or even like milk or fruity? I'd be curious what your view on that is. I imagine you guys are all anti-gmo but I see it as a way to easily grow a whole food at home with little dependency on complex supply chains. As climate change will ramp up food insecurity will lead to massive societal pressure so doing research and development into scalable solutions to grow food anywhere with little energy and water could be crucial for human civilization.
@@Sol_Invictus777 Yeah. I doubt many people outside some biochemistry experts can really answer that question. And because of regulations and marketing GMO isn't a great business strategy either. I think some companies in this sector use breeding to get different properties of microalgae
What's wrong with the taste or color. It's tasteless and what's wrong with green. Kale n spinach. Avocado would look good in orange but taste fine in green

He almost lost me with it too, but it's not fair to just shut it down. As soon as he started talking about getting it into urban environments (which are known to be nutritional deserts unless you've got the cash) he tied it together really nicely. Point being, he had to bring it up, because it wrapped together his point about the impact of people having small scale farms. If you don't give someone the chance to articulate their point on the second video, what are you getting out of these videos?
@@grave367 They're food deserts because no one wants to set up shop in high crime areas that will potentially be burned to the ground anyway. I agree that they need to come up with their own ways to have community urban farms as a supplement.
Outstanding Mr. Brown! You are a agent of hope.
You’re a genius bro, much love, keep being great 💯

Love your passion, Dude - William Padilla-Brown .
Love Cyanobacteria! This work you are doing is really meaningful. I fell in love when teaching Marine Biology
Thanks for all your amazing content! You've inspired me to start growing my own spirulina and chlorella =)

hi there . big fan. just one question. the B12 in spirulina is it the real B12 or a coppy(pseudo)
one love ...one mother earth...respect brother...
Great content. 👌🏿
I find the Maxima strain is more responsive to the red light shift/emerson effect and is alot larger/easier to strain.
You really know your Spirulina! Great videos.
Great Video. How much nitrates are required daily per litre/square metre?
Thanks for the information

Mr. Hendricks is from Olympia, WA. He has a wonderful algae farm.
Topped on rice with soy sauce, ginger, sambal, and sesame oil.
Brown rice.. not white
I can do that. I was wondering where on earth I would put it, not a smoothie girl.

@Apex Grower I also used spirulina as a dye to make frog bread for my son's birthday in August.
Wow amazing
Awesome video bro👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Can you tell us the best brands to purchase
I'd be interested in mixing it with whisked egg, puree spinach for an omelette base, baked with cheese, mushroom, and diced bell pepper
amazing

Subsisting is different than thriving. Diet is an interesting topic.
Did the Jesus or the Buddha thrive on hamburgers and ice cream? You can thrive on subsistence.
I would love to hear you in North Carolina. How do I find out about when you’ll be coming? Can you talk about both spirulina and mushrooms?

You can try genetically engineering your taste buds so they're not so sensitive.
I've been buying Chinese spiritual and it's cheap compared to here. It can be grown cheap also
I discovered Chinese spirulina also n it works just fine
