Bo1: Best Campaign Bo2: Best Multiplayer Bo3: Best Zombies Bo4: A nice balance of some good and bad from each Warning: this is my opinion and I am a hardcore zombies player, so bo3 appeals so much to someone like me but I can understand why some hate it. However, the zombies community views bo3 mostly as the best game for zombies content.
I've left the game before the loot boxes hit. I just got a tad bored, wanted to try smth else, fount EFT and I got hooked. Now i came back to play a lil, I was missing the game. However, the only thing I've ever cared about in bo4 was blackout. And I gotta say, I am not disappointed to see that it didn't change much. Sure i wish the goddamned knife was removed by now, but still. Blackout was the game (mode) that made me love BR. And it's just blackout, dunno why. My favorite thing about old COD map design was how it rewarded all playstyles, which made each style more fun. A good example would be rushing in the older games. Back then, rushing with an SMG and being successful was actually quite hard especially on maps designed for Snipers, Rifles, and LMGs (WaW/MW2/BO1 come to mind) These days all the maps are designed for SMG play, with a few longer sight lines. It's clear they wanted to streamline the design so there is virtually no down time - and this is especially true when you look at how easily spawns can flip compared to the older games
The type of shit players have to put up with these days is shocking. Proof that publishers treat customers like dirt. I'm replaying old games until RoN comes out. It's a bad time in gaming history.
I mean all of the base bo4 zombie maps are as simple as flip a switch for power and play. Some maps don't even have a power mechanic and you just have to activate pap with little steps.
Most of bo4 are technicaly a remake and the first dlc u need to go to a scafvnger hunt to upgrade your wepoun and the perk system is trash . bo4: u need speed cola kiddo ? well u need to buy all your perks . u want double tap ? well upgrade your wepoun 5 fucking times for every fucking wepoun ? wtf who wants that? the only good map is ix and what I dont understund is act man complain alot about gumball gums in bo3 and that they broke the game but he didnt even mintion that bo4 had the same system but insted of gums are drinks and those drink came with u . It is kinda interesting how he liked this zombies mode. Honestly though as someone who started play way back with World at War Nacht (and has played all Tryarch zombie maps) I have to say each game plays different. For me it all depends on what mood I am in. W.a.W: nostalgic and dog rounds that are actually threatening, side note on PC they have really fun custom maps (Dead Ship is an amazing map) B.O.: Has a few good maps. Still find it darkly humorous that you can give JFK a sniper rifle. B.O. 2: Had a mix of complex maps (Origins and Mob of the Dead) to basic challenging ones (like Nuketown) and god awful ones (Die Rise and Green Run/Tranzit) B.O.3: Like B.O.2 (good mix of complex and basic maps) and again a sucker for the custom maps like the Silent Hill map and the Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade map (you get to actually go through all the traps from the movie and get to the grail room ^>^) B.O. 4: Mixes up the formula. Can play with custom rules, different game modes, and just a lot of customization. TL:DR: To each their own and custom zombie maps will always be better than the official ones (kidding...for the most part)
I really like custom zombies, yeah there are some bad maps but some are supposed to be bad, hard or just a meme, but some custom maps I've played are brilliant, a few even better than the official maps made by treyarch.
I liked how punishing the og zombies games were (waw/bo1), it made the game more tension filled knowing you could get 2 tapped if you weren't careful, I also liked the more gritty and dark tone they had, Ithink the later games started getting too easy and adding dumb rng was such a turn off. I'm interested in playing 3 and 4 but haven't yet because Activision are greedy shit bags and still charger full price for 10 year old awfully optimized PC ports. Saying they should have just tried again is assuming that they didn't look at their story boards, notes and ideas and realize that they didn't have something good enough to warrant all the resources they'd have to put into a fully fledged campaign (or feel comfortable risking a good story mode on a game that might get the lootbox treatment). It could have just been that they were ordered by the dick upstairs to drop their campaign, but it seems like it's also possible they could have just made an honest appraisal of where their team is at creatively and said "We'll pass for now."

The style and experience of these games inspired recent classics such as dark souls and other adventure games that push the development of the character and the game at the same rate, thus the phrase Metroid-Vania.
There are very few games out there that capture the atmosphere, isolated feeling, and exploration that the Metroid games do and the music is like no other

What does MW3 even have to do with Bo4? MW3 doesn’t even have a zombies mode. If it’s about the “recycled” part, Bo4’s remakes play completely differently than the originals (for better or worse), so your point makes absolutely no sense.
Me and my mates play a game mode call James bond, one team sits in a building with rifles shotguns, lmgs and smgs. While one guy with a sniper has to pick off the enemy team, the eneimes aren't allowed to leave the building. It was a lotta fun cos there were two stories on most maps. Like bo2. But in bo4, there's no 2 story buildings so they just sit and be bored till someone gets a lucky shot... I really want two story buildings and vertically in the maps...
I'm not buying any dlc. I've brought the game, I spent enough money on the game and I don't want to spend another £40 for a pass for maps I've played. And nuketown is way too small, James bond only really works with medium size maps because you can move around along more. If you played James bond on Mw1 you have map like crash with multiple stories for the defence, but James bond has buildings to go to in and multiple stories for him to move around in.
Being a shotgun kinda guy, I definitely did not appreciate the extremely clunky and slow pump shotgun. The one hit range is random and odd, and the pump is so slow, the only way to fire a second time, is if your opponent suddenly has a stroke, and even then they might fall on their controller. Even adding the rapid fire attachment to the pump is almost completely ineffective. I get it, WW2 shotguns were OP as heck. This counter balance was not appreciated, at least by my unprofessional opinion.
Hunter Vance Lmao loser, of course you like shotguns. Because there is no skill involved and requires no aim at all. Shotguns are a crutch and honestly make me wanna quit COD when you against shit like brecci, the Remington, the KSG, OLYMPIA.
Yeah, I'm a little conflicted. While I try to give Call of Duty the benefit of the doubt and not hate on it because of a certain company's greed, Black Ops 4 raises a couple red flags. First off, the lack of a single-player campaign. Now, I understand that CoD campaigns aren't the greatest or the longest, but it's nice to have some semblance of single-player content. Second, the Blackout mode. I'm not really a fan of Battle Royale, so I wasn't sure of how it would even work. However, that doesn't mean that I won't give it a chance. I try to keep an open mind and I like to play everything if given the chance.
The only good thing that was done in terms of single player is the fact that players could play by themselves with A.i. bots, in both multiplayer and zombies by creating a custom match, and surprisingly the A.i. is pretty decent in Zombies. Which I was glad that they did such a thing, as some games in the series never even bothered to do so. The only game mode not accessible single player wise or offline is Blackout which makes sense because that's a 100 player PvP.
On the topic of map selection: COD would do well do start designing maps that work for a certain game mode. I haven't played a COD title since BO2, and what I remember from it and titles prior is that the same map pool was applied to every game mode. It seems that the previous titles (more specifically MW1 - BO2) had pretty decent maps because each game mode was fun and unique on it. The developers spent time on making sure that you had OPTIONS to choose from in different modes. You could take one path in TDM, but then on the same map in CTF or Domination, that path could be undesirable or maybe even better to choose. Open areas could be a power position for some modes and a death trap for others. I think 3Arc was making really "safe" decisions in their maps and make them stupid simple and small rather than try and innovate in case it won't work for other game modes. Another facet of these maps is that they seem to appeal to just one specific play style. Like you said in your video, snipers aren't even viable in this game because the maps are so small and other weaponry can easily outgun it. The sniper roll has been diminished now so that the only real way to use one is to be really good at quick scoping (now with the lower tick rate will be harder). This doesn't apply to just BO4, this has been a trend since AW when all the crazy movement was happening. Why would you use a medium range gun in those games when the movement system allowed you to basically teleport up close to people? So instead of having more movement this time around, we have smaller maps to accommodate the one play style of "up in your face with a diamond smg" for every game mode. Why not have a map be designed for TDM, or Hardpoint, or S&D *each*? I know this comparison will seem far fetched but look at Team Fortress 2. I think their maps are outstanding because each one is designed for a specific game mode and has strong and weak positions for each class. Control Point and CTF maps are basically just half a map but mirrored with a firefight scene in the center. Payload maps are much more asymmetrical and have a lot more vertical movement to be in contrast with the cart moving horizontally. They make the game fun and dynamic. Call of Duty as a franchise is realizing that their target audience does not realize what a good map is. I could be totally wrong but they keep cranking out these shit games and I really only see one age group still hyped as fuck for each one. Sorry for the essay but man, I totally agree with your stance on maps and think that CoD's dev teams should focus on providing quality maps instead of ones that look really nice.
Oh my god, another person who types up paragraphs upon paragraphs that most people realistically wouldn’t have the time to read! Finally! Anyway, on the subject of snipers, as a PC player they are the bane of my pitiful existence. Pin-point accuracy paired with people who have the reaction time of a fly that seems to dodge every attempt at slapping it down, on fucking speed, seems like a bit of a detriment to any balanced game design. Every other gun I can counter, but snipers at any range are a death sentence unless you can manage to either get within a metre of the enemy to hopefully spray them to death or open fire on them when they look the other way. This isn’t something that’s difficult to deal with in older CoD games as snipers seemed to have fundamentally changed. You see, in older CoD games, as I believe the Act Man has stated before, all guns had their roles and trade offs for their strengths. LMGs had larger ranges and fast fire rates, but slow mobility and aim speeds made close range less viable and mid range engagements could be one by assault rifles if the player holding them had the skill. This gave the LMG a specific role; holding down an area or an objective. They could be used elsewhere but that wouldn’t allow you to utilise it’s strengths fully. Snipers had the same such thing, being nigh useless in anything but long range, but being precise and powerful when at long ranges. With modern CoDs, of course, as map design become less varied and smaller in scale, all weapons seemingly blurred into each other with play-style to make sure all were viable. This left snipers with an advantage as their high damage was now paired with less rifle sway and much more competitive aim and reload speeds. Even when I was on Xbox, snipers in BO3 were ridiculously unbalanced. Now, in Black Ops 4, we’ve seen the return of weapon classes having their own roles, now encouraged by operator mods that increase the strengths of a gun while strongly emphasising it’s weaknesses. This is great, except for two weapons. The sniper and the knife. With the maps still being small in scale and barely improved in terms of variety of sight lines, the sniper is still left in an awkward place. It’s old strengths are now useless outside of two maps, and its weaknesses would make it useless. This leaves two options; cut them entirely, or leave them unbalanced. They chose the latter, and the game, at least on PC, suffers immensely for it. With barely any rifle sway that can be mitigated even further with attachments and quicker aim speeds paired with the one hit kill damage, they are nearly unbeatable in even medium range combat as long as the player know what they’re going. Long range? Yeah, good luck. Trust me you’ll need it. The knife is ridiculously strong in close quarters and knowledge of a map can lead to easy kill streaks as you move through the most efficient path to the enemy, but at least it is limited to smaller maps. It absolutely ruins those maps for me, but it doesn’t effect the others. Those are left to be ruined by the ICR and snipers. Honestly, as Act Man himself said, the gunplay in this game is the best in the series, but it isn’t just the map design that fights with it. I agree more with the content creator Raycevick, in saying that a formula for a more grounded shooter has been appropriated for a power fantasy shooter, and the modern aspects collide with the old. When he refers to this, it’s in the campaign, but I argue that the same could be said here. This is the first game where the multiplayer formula has made a true effort to return to the grounded roots of the series, and it works... almost. Map design is still the same as the uninspired droll from all recent entries in the series that emphasise the fast combat styles over the more thought out, tactical style that the new gameplay emphases. That isn’t too noticeable all the time and it’s certainly better than previous games, but when playing maps like Nuketown (which should have died in Black Ops 2) and Gridlock, it can be painful, and the “bum rush” tactic still holds an advantage over all maps more than it should. Meanwhile, specialist ultimates take this problem to the extreme. It directly clashes with the core formula this game tries so hard to bring back. You can’t counter a flame thrower, even at a medium range, and spamming a grenade launcher over the map doesn’t require skill. The specialist abilities on their own are great additions, with different tactics being emphasised by different specialists, but it doesn’t exactly scream “balanced” when a player who has done terribly the whole match can pull something more powerful than most kill streaks out of his ass at any point in time, just because the ticking timer ran out. It just adds more of that cluster fuck, Michael Bay aspect that has killed these games over time. CoD was meant to be quick paced action, but with an element of pacing and strategy. This actively fights with that. While on the subject of things that fight with the core of the game with how much of a cluster fuck they make gameplay, this may be an unpopular opinion but I think most of the kill streaks hurt this game more than anything else. Remember when the most powerful kill streak was just a helicopter, or a swarm of attack dogs? Remember when they were difficult to get? That’s all gone. Now, a losing team can pull five hellstorms, a sniper’s nest and an even a gun shop out of nowhere. They aren’t hard to get, and they are far more powerful. Every time I’m getting into that perfect flow, immersed in the game, I’m pulled out of it by the announcement that another hellstorm is about to destroy my asshole harder than anything that could be found on a hardcore anal video on pornhub. Kill streaks have never been something I enjoyed as much as others, but in the first Black Ops, there was something special about getting even an RC-XD, let alone a gunship helicopter.

Do not forget about the coriolis effect, food, water, temperature, stealth, rules of engagement, bullet weight, weather conditions, sickness, infections, or even captivity. Where the player will be stationed in Iraq is not guaranteed. He may be a radio man working inside an HQ, or he may traverse the mountains on foot with only his platoon to protect him. The only thing I don't agree with is your criticism on the rocker launchers. The game doesn't need a thumper because that would make battery obsolete. The maps are also kinda horrible for an RPG, and the balance and play of the game would be so different of you could have a quickly accessible rocket launcher at anytime with no cool down afterward. If you haven't noticed they've put a huge emphasis on keeping people from spamming explosives (because that's super annoying for everyone). Seems like the right move to me.
Henry Snead I honestly miss the underbarrel grenade launchers. And I feel like a ‘nade launcher could work but they need to find a way to make it good without making it a better alternative to using Battery for her ult.
I feel that the lack of launchers just makes it feel like we have less weopons. Also, has anyone seen the Javalin outside of Modern Warfare? But I do understand the point of spamming explosives being annoying. The best way to fix that and still keep all the launchers is to give each weopon a distinct strategic personality. Like if we want to accomodate the spammers, make the explosives short ranged and do less damage but still be able to fire a barrage of grenades. For precision, make it like the RPG where it's accurate and long range but can't be fired rapidly.
Rocket launchers will never make Battery obsolete. And if they ever did, I'm fine with that because she's one of most noob-friendly, anti-skill specialist ever. BO3 had rocket spam and about four launchers. That didn't stop Battery from being an OP mess and spam machine whatsoever.
Henry Snead Same. One launcher that does everything is way better. The starting launcher he mentioned in mw2 sucked and once you unlocked the others you would never use it again. The diversity between the thumper and rpg is nice but not really needed as they pretty much do the same thing just differently, which I get some people like. And the stinger was boring, who wants a launcher just for aircraft? The javelin was a wild card and a meme.
I actually have a theory on why the newer maps in the newer cod games are so lackluster: You see not only did the toxic cod fan base tear the maps apart just the way buster brown said on your world war 2 video, but they also made the maps a lot less lackluster so people could feel a little underwhelming but they saw how much better the dlc maps looked so if they wanted more better maps to play with the games refined mechanics and gunplay they’ve been wanting to play in and have fun in they’d all want to buy the dlc maps so they go and buy more dlcs and more money for activision, yip yip, hooray!

Back then, rushing with an SMG and being successful was actually quite hard especially on maps designed for Snipers, Rifles, and LMGs (WaW/MW2/BO1 come to mind)
These days all the maps are designed for SMG play, with a few longer sight lines. It's clear they wanted to streamline the design so there is virtually no down time - and this is especially true when you look at how easily spawns can flip compared to the older games

Saying they should have just tried again is assuming that they didn't look at their story boards, notes and ideas and realize that they didn't have something good enough to warrant all the resources they'd have to put into a fully fledged campaign (or feel comfortable risking a good story mode on a game that might get the lootbox treatment).

Dude I havent played call of duty in years, and this game is honestly fun, and blackout is fun asf man give it a chance
Its good, there’s just so many sweats in blackout and multiplayer
The gaming community needs more gamers like you my friend.
Blackout to me is amazing. MP annoying and average. Zombies are fun, especially 9.
19:15 Thank god black ops 4 doesn’t has payable loot boxes. Treyarch: Thanks for the grand idea!

O
Sniper on BO4 are OP, especially on PC. Pro players said that
Nicolas Zannerini I already said that... over, like, six paragraphs.

CALL OF DUTY, CAVEMAN WARFARE!!!
CALL OF DUTY IRAQ!! - Gameplay consists of long range combat only, and barely seeing the enemy. The player may only see a few pixels travel across a mountainside, which would identify as enemies. Missions will last full 24 hour days, and no restarts or respawns. Death is permanent. The game will immediately uninstall itself when it detects the player has died. The player will have to go through the 3 months of basic training as whichever branch of military they choose. Their MOS (Or military job) is not guaranteed. (The player has a possibility of not finishing basic training, and going home. The game will uninstall itself if such happens.) The player may become a combat landscaper, or the player may become Chris Kyle. It depends on where the player succeeds during basic training. If the player were to be deployed weapons would have extremely realistic recoil, and firing a rifle or sidearm will begin to hurt you if you shoot it too much. The player does not get to choose his name, and the name shall be randomly generated from common names in America. The player will POSSIBLY get promoted from Private, to Lance Corporal, or Specialist (depending on the branch of military). The player is not guaranteed to buy the game. Side note: No sales were made. lol.
