often times, he didn’t put a new one on. i was told that his strings would break at the saddle and he somehow wounded a broken up (doctored) and tuned it to pitch. in the early 70s-90s he was using a thick Tshell pick and sometime in y2k, he switched to a 1.0 mm.
was it at 1:33 ? i feel like before it broke it was going out of tune and tony could barely hear it and needed more monitor so he asked the fiddle player to tell the sound guy to give tony more monitor...then the string broke at 1:33 ?
This concert at the wedding is one of my favourite Tony Rice performances everything natural. Thank you.
Wow!
How the hell does he get that string to pitch with the band playing right next to him?? What a boss.
Exactly what I was thinking! 😯
I saw him do the same thing in Madison NC in 1987.

@@cajunguitarman…..Not true. Tony would always use a new string. He had a whole case full of singles.
@@Guitarwizzard1833 a friend of mine told me that his cousin saw him do that. We can agree to disagree like adults
love seeing Wyatt take breaks. Cool video!
Brilliant! Thanks so much for posting. This is cooler than Bruce Willis in Die Hard.
What a pro
Can you post the entire set?
