Alright Mike, thanks very much for that 👍. Is been quiet of late, and even tho I said in the video I wouldn’t say it, hopefully it will start picking up know some bit. 😬
Great to see you back Ed! Am with ye re the hare - love it any time I meet wildlife on my hikes, always makes my day 😃 Congrats on the van, it looks fab.
thanks @jude6000 , yea its great seeing the wildlife. i'm definitely looking around and seeing things more now, half because I need to take the breaks and half because I just enjoy taking the time and looking around. Especially in Dingle I've most places hiked so it's a lot less stress getting around. And thanks, hope to put the van to use when it gets a bit quieter😁
I fear I may have missed the fine weather we had, although tbh, it was still totally enjoyable being out in it. And finally got it finished, it went on a lot longer than I expected, but at least it’s done. Now I just have to use it 🤣
Great to see you back out Eddie, van looks the biz, the best of luck with her. Congratulations on the 1000 subscriber's, well deserved 👏. Not out much myself, done the achillies back in May and am only going local...
Ouch Patrick, that doesnt sound nice. Hopefully its mending away. 🤞🏻 To be honest, you're probably still fitter than me even with the achillies 🙁 we'll get there tho,, will just take a bit longer...
I often get distracted on my hikes too 😂 You got some savage shots. Your van looks class, just being able to get yourself sorted after a hike would make all the difference. Like you said not havjng to fumble around in the front seat would be great. I've been playing around with the idea of converting a van. Now that you've done it, do you think converting the van is more cost effective than buying one? With the tax you have to pay and all to make it official it's really been holding me back from giving it a go.
Dingle Peninsula is unreal for photography, there's just so much to do there. In relation to the cost effectiveness of the van. I'd been looking for a while, but any "camper" I saw usually had incredibly high milage. The phrase camper is another thing, I don't know how some of them are actually classed as that tbh. You'll see a lot saying it's converted they just haven't changed the log book or paid the vrt, that's all usually bs from what I can see. I initially hadn't intended on doing the kitchen like it turned out, was just going to use the camping gear, but being my only vehicle my insurance options were limited and I had to join a club, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise, with getting advice and them being very very helpful to a noob like myself. I had to do a fully qualified conversion, tbh, I'm delighted now, its turned out well and is a way more practical. There are other vans called "day vans" that I don't know how they work insurance wise etc etc.. Finally, as you mentioned tax,, VRT is 13.3% of the open market selling price of the vehicle at the time of registration, which revenue decide. It ended up pretty much what I was expecting, it wasn't mental. However, the benefit is once done, going from €710 tax per year(private) to €102 as it's now a motor caravan, so over a few years it softens the blow, and presumably the value of the van has gone up, I won't know until/if I sell it. So cost effectiveness wise, as long as I keep it a few years, it will have been well worth it, and that's before getting the actual use out of it and the freedom it will hopefully open up. That's a lot there for a UA-cam comment, if you have more questions, hit me up on my website. I also plan on doing a video, if I can get the info together... phew,,,
@@eddieforde Thank you so much, that comment alone has reignited my interest in converting a van. I've a lot to go on there so I'll do some research into it and keep an eye out for your video. I'll definitely message you on your website if I get stuck but I don't want to bombard you with questions. Thanks a mill, honestly I really appreciate it and your van looks class 🙌
You’re grand out lad, ask away. There were a lot of assumptions I had made at the start in relation to layout that once I found out certain things weren’t possible it cleared things up for me. Im by no means an expert but f I could help someone avoid the time wasted and stress I’d gladly do it. There are conversion companies around that take all that stress and work away, they do awesome work but they are expensive so depends what you want I suppose. Anyway, ask away, if I can answer I will. 👍
So who is the breathless fellow that we see Eddie.! Maybe you'll make a check list in the van, must remember poles etc. Great to see you back, look forward to new adventures.
that breathless fella is going to be around for a while Robert 🤣. I think maybe for the next while I will just wait for 5 minutes before talking ,,,,, and no more walking and talking :🏃 ,,, we'll get back to normal soon enough hopefully 😉 thanks Robert 👍
I don’t know Richard, sometimes I’ve to cut out clips and I’m thinking to myself “what the hell was I trying to say there?” So if I struggle, I can’t imagine what it’s like for someone from out of town🤣
"Everything is easy". It is indeed, Eddie. Keep on going!
thanks Gregory 👍
Great job done on the van Eddie, plenty of comfort now. Enjoy 👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks Rodney, ‘tis compact but has everything I need hopefully, now just to get out with it. 🚐
Whenever I get that notification it feels like christmas morning. Another great video. Thank you Eddie.
