Eddie, not many more impressive corrie loughs in Ireland than this one👍 and you had perfect weather☀A superb circuit, especially with that climb with some scrambling and the big drops to the lake below. Loved the mist rising off the back of the coum👍 You could easily believe that the lake was bottomless in that grand setting. Well worth the journey.
Hi Gerry, it was a really enjoyable hike alright. There was a lot more rock climbing and scrambling than I had expected and it was right good fun tbh. On my way down there, with the cloud cover, i didn’t think I’d get any views at all, but it turned out pretty ok 😎
Please, no need to be sorry, I did not mean it like that 😳. I enjoy getting comments from around the world. 🌍 thanks so much for taking the time to leave a nice comment, it’s very welcome 😁👍
Great stuff Eddie, had commented here months ago that you would love Coomshingaun, the hollow of the ants! You descended the regular way, certainly care needed with all the rocks. Excellent camerawork.
thanks for confirming it’s the right way down, I’m always concerned about sending people the wrong way especially when I’m not familiar with the place. 👍 I saw the reference to the ants alright, but wasn't sure, so said I'd leave it out, instead of getting something wrong forever on the video, There's probably enough mistakes already to be fair in other videos. I saw on the East West maps website an interesting blog post about the name of the place. I've thrown the link in the description but it's this eastwestmapping.ie/coumshingaun-or-is-it/ . I enjoy his posts as there seems to be some research gone into them and its not just what he came up with... Thanks again, and yea, you were right, It was pretty fantastic alright. 👍
Brilliant video. Brought my back to when we were there last month. Dave's trousers get torn from those rocks on the way down. I don't think there's any way of avoiding them. Cheers Eddie.
That’s gas, I was thinking the very same thing coming down myself as I’d only had the arse of my pants re stitched a few weeks back, so I came down those rocks very carefully. Thanks again. 👍
Thank very much Pat. Would have nice to get a clear top for the drone, but the clouds worked out alright in the handheld shots I think. And yea, it was another hike where I was again looking at the rocks more than I would care to mention.. Some sort of conglomerate I believe.. 👍
thanks Pia, its great when we get it alright, I'm slightly grateful (only slightly) for the light cloud on the day as it kept things cool up on the top.. Midges were not a problem 😁
thanks Keith, yea, I spent way too long up the mountain watching the clouds fly by, if anyone saw me they'd have been wondering what the heck I was looking at.. anyway.. moving. on 😎😬
As a former hill walker I understand your anger at the start about the cloud cover... been there too many times. Beautiful walk. I think that was a Hen Harrier what an amazing sight...
It's almost par for the course at this stage, the one saving grace was that it wasn't fully down on top of us, and we still had some pretty great views all day. Thanks for the bird id, I haven't seen one of them before, so that's a nice find 👍
Good advice to stop and look around you, I am always in too much of a rush. Terrific drone shots of yourself for perspective again, a beautiful place to see. Does E.F. stand for extra fit.?!
Absolutely not Robert 😂😂 more like extra f’d. yea, agree with the drone, it’s great to be able to use it for the perspective, I presume the wind will be along any day now and put an end to it… you never know 🤞
Did this loop last Thursday morning clockwise like urself ! Some spot tbf, though Google Maps advertising it as a lopped lake walk is a bit misleading !! Hairy enough scramble at times ! Great video as usual 👍
Jaysus, a looped lake walk 😮. A looped lake walk would be Muckross in Killarney or similar. As you say, some rather interesting sections on this alright, I hope the video shows what people should expect if nothing else. Thanks very much Alan 👍
Such an amazing spot! Well worth the effort to capture those views Eddie…great that the weather played ball! 😎 Not a route I’d like to do on my own in crap weather though 🙃
Well worth the trip alright. Even tho it’s relatively short there’s a lot in it with all the rocky sections. Enjoyable on the day, but as you said, the weather was good. Same as yourself, I wouldn’t be too keen on it in bad weather either but now it’s done I’d have a better idea of what’s ahead. Thanks Miriam.
I saw a few small jumps and ripples, but unless it’s stocked or bird dropped , definitely not via the stream anyway. It’s also a good hike up to the lake on its own, so lugging rods up etc would be awkward, but I’m sure someone has probably done it at some stage. 🐟🎣
thanks Sean @amadain1, as brief as it was , that sunset was fantastic, It must be something else to see it every day ( when not covered in cloud of course).. . . . And I don't think I'll ever again be able to look at the three sisters and not think of that... thanks Paddy 🤣🤣🤣 just to let you know, I think you may have put this comment in the wrong video, should be this one -> ua-cam.com/video/a2_HnBYuwXQ/v-deo.html
You made it look easy Eddie, and it is so far from easy it's unreal. It's the most difficult hiking ascent, and the worst hiking descent I've encountered. No discernable descent path, and having to slide down massive boulders. A nightmare descent.
Thanks Ray. It was a lot more involved than I was expecting, you’d hear people talking about it but I don’t recall anyone mentioned the long rocky sections both on the way up and down. I tried to capture it well enough to show these parts, hopefully people will have an idea from this anyways. 👍⛰️
It’s a great hike alright, was a lot more involved in it than I was expecting tbh. I’m always tired after a hike, I’m now working off how I feel the day afterwards, and I could have done it again the following day, so that was good. I think going the night before is helping as I’m not dealing with the early starts and long drives also. Finally, I called into one of your copper coast bays, fantastic sunset, got a few clips but can’t put a vid together, stunning location tho.. 👍
Eddie I'm now 60 and as a child we cycled from carrick on suir ever summer lovely to see again ❤
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and that it brought back nice memories. 👍😁
Stunning Eddie, you have been blessed again with the weather.
Haunted Paddy alright. It’s bound to change at some stage soon, but until then. We’ll enjoy it while we have it 🌞😎
Outstanding Footage Eddie fantastic cliffs
And beautiful colours thank you Eddie for your great work and your dedication
its a great place to get shots, especially on the way down and at the lake itself,
I must say, It is very impressive alright...

Superb and spectacular views what a fantastic cwm the landscape reminds me of Wales thanks Andy
Thanks Andrew. I've never been to Wales, but hope to confirm your comparison next year with any luck.. 😉🤞🏻
Great you will love it and I will be back in wonderful Ireland in 2026
If you get a chance visit Cwm Cau on Cadair Idris it’s a similar setting all the best
Epic photography, as always. Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks Ben 😎
Amazing Eddie and the weather you got was brilliant. Its on my "to do" list so thanks for giving us the guided tour. Beautiful
Thanks Alyn, I think it’s a loop that on everyone’s list, been on mine for quite a while and nice to finally get it “ticked” off 😉 🦟
Great stuff. Drone work very well done. Rock formations are very cool.
Thank very much Pat. Would have nice to get a clear top for the drone, but the clouds worked out alright in the handheld shots I think. And yea, it was another hike where I was again looking at the rocks more than I would care to mention.. Some sort of conglomerate I believe.. 👍
Great video Eddie as always. Thanks for sharing 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you 👍
Wow stunning video as always. Summer is back here today sun all day and 22 deg. 😊❤
thanks Pia, its great when we get it alright, I'm slightly grateful (only slightly) for the light cloud on the day as it kept things cool up on the top.. Midges were not a problem 😁
Another stunning video Eddie and those views where crackin 👏🙌👍

Great stuff as usual, Eddie. Just added that to my list.
thanks Tim, was a thoroughly enjoyable hike, a bit tougher than I expected, but a great day out overall.. 👍

When u mentioned Kilkenney that was Sliabh na mBan over ur left shoulder !
Jaysus, a looped lake walk 😮. A looped lake walk would be Muckross in Killarney or similar. As you say, some rather interesting sections on this alright, I hope the video shows what people should expect if nothing else. Thanks very much Alan 👍
Thanks for that, I’m not familiar with that part of the country at all. 👍
Great video and views 👍🙂
thanks very much Stig 👍

Smashing video
thanks Denis, glad you enjoyed it... 👍
Can't believe there were no people up fishing that lake there's surely some pristine trout in it ?

@@eddieforde yes I'm sure they have tried it. Such an incredible spot.
SeanTP,
Love the late sunset, this time of the year over the “Three Sisters”
……
…
(Or as Paddy calls them…..the ‘Six Tits’).
thanks Sean @amadain1, as brief as it was , that sunset was fantastic, It must be something else to see it every day ( when not covered in cloud of course)..

And I don't think I'll ever again be able to look at the three sisters and not think of that... thanks Paddy 🤣🤣🤣

The Limerick Climbing club hikes around Crottys Guly and Coumshigaun every year. Very nice walk but very boggy iin places
I can believe that alright, the edge of the bog was wet, and it was a good day, can’t imagine what it’s like after rain. 👍
Its some hike isn't it, loved the cloud movement, fair play, were you bate out afterwards?
It’s a great hike alright, was a lot more involved in it than I was expecting tbh.
