    Flying safe and cool on a solo mission is the way to go. Great flying, Mike. A lot of experience needed to get that girl back with the footage.

      Thanks for watching. I finally am getting this system to produce some results after a 2 year journey learning how to build, fly and film. Now I am concentrating on post production improved stabilization and color grading. More to come!

    Really nice footage, flying, and you nailed the exposure as you see all the detail in the snow and turn to see all the detail in the darker trees. Great job! I'm just putting the finishing touches on my first 7" LR build.
    Good choice to turn around and come home when you did. You were at 3.2V p/cell at that point. I think trying to ascend that face again would have been ending in tears, beers, and bad memories for years.

      Thanks for watching. Yes this camera has 13 stops of dynamic range which is needed for such a high contrast scene. Exactly. I try to avoid an end of flight climb. No good indeed. These particular cells I can run as low as 3.0 even to 2.75 and still fly. Good luck with the new build.

      @@ValleyFPV Like he said, between the high dynamic range of the camera and your exposure settings, this is really masterfully shot. *EDIT:* Man, where ARE you located to have access to such amazing vistas?

      @AllDayPlayin Northwest WA state. One of my most important items of flying gear is my Toyota 4Runner. :)

      @@ValleyFPV What pisses me off the most is that I grew up about 1000km north of you on the BC coast, watched avalanches daily as a kid, and wondered what it would be like to climb up to those ravines and crevasses I could see from the valley to the snow-capped peaks.
      Now I live in effing flatland and the only interesting thing to do with a quad is rip trees in a 5". I'm almost done my 7" build but I have to travel a couple of hours to make the flights interesting. I'll post when I get something worthy.
      That Toyota is a gem. Getting to places where there is no one and nothing is becoming more difficult ☹️.

    Wow, video looks so nice, the HDR is definitely better! Whats the AUW of quad? How big was this video file???
    good stuff, thanks

      Thanks for watching. This all up takeoff weight is 2.2kg. 800g of that is battery. Flight time is normally 15 to 18 minutes resulting in 65Gb of video. The 16 bit .braw codec is nice to work with in post. The 13 stop DR sure helps in these high contrast scenes but still is sometimes tough to get just right given this is an all mechanical exposure and lighting changes with the direction. I do like this kit over a gopro buts it's alot more effort.

      On regular quads I get the tingles when I fly over trees outside of my area. If they had GPS it wouldn't bother me as I've used it in earlier versions of Betaflight and it worked as advertised, but who wants to set all that up on every quad you have? I'd be broke. I'm just building a 7" atm, so I will have to make sure I get it right so I'm not a nervous wreck lol.

    Cool flight. More of a recce I guess. Have you tried planning/rehearsing a line with Google Earth, I wonder if the resolution is detailed enough to be usable?

    • @ValleyFPV
      @ValleyFPV  Рік тому +1

      I use G Earth all the time to pre vis / plan flights however it lacks the detail of large tree heights and subtle terrain undulations. We often will photograph a potential flight area with telephoto lenses and study them pre flight as well. I also Use Google for measuring distances and altitudes and planning Power usage.

      You could literally do that with Inav. Apparently has settings for waypoint trips etc. I haven't looked at it but it seems the best for any type of flying based on navigation. Betaflight is catching up for sure as now in 4.4.0 the RTH feature will land the quad with proper setup, but they lag in the nav field, but I'm not criticizing by any means. The work that people do for the benefit of anyone to fly spinny things is amazing.

    Thanks again for you informative yet enjoyable videos .. Technical question buddy :
    I am building a 7 inch frame quad with 1700kv or 1300 kv 2806.5 motors . My question as some guys told me that a 4s battery will not be able to let it go off the ground . Any input or advise is appreciated.

    • @ValleyFPV
      @ValleyFPV  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching. That depends on the total weight I suppose. It won't fly as responsive as say a 5S or 6S that's for sure.

      Just do a lot of test flights to determine. When I make a build I spend a month or two testing the flight handling and battery life and tuning it before I take it on any adventures.

      @@ValleyFPV that’s wise advise that I appreciated . You are right here .. never start a project at full throttle without testing it first carefully. As for my build .. there’s no that much weight to add so i ll take your words for testing either ways . Thanks & keep up posting these scenic videos :)
