    i bought my first dslr a month ago (canon 200d) and right away got the 50mm 1.8, love it to bits, i like not only the image quality and big aperture but also the fact that limiting myself to a prime forces me to think for framing and such, and today for my birthday my girlfriend got me the 28mm 1.8, major surprise i wasn't excpecting it at all and it's a magnificient lens !!! pretty heavy but it takes amazing images!

    Could you maybe talk a little about why prime lenses don’t seem to have VR or IS and what can be done to avoid camera shake with prime lenses?

    • @photogenius
      @photogenius  5 років тому +1

      The great thing about prime lenses is that the aperture can open much wider - this allows more light to pass through the lens which in turn allows for a faster shutter speed. The faster shutter speed means camera shake is less of an issue. Hope that helps.

    Hi Paul, what’s you’re opinion of the 500mm F.4 Prime lenses?
    Both Canon and Sigma do their version and I believe Nikon do as well. Obviously, they’re stupidly expensive lenses, but yet the reviews on them are really good and that the image quality is said to be insanely good, especially for wildlife photography.

    Thanks again for the great video! I'm very new, recently got a used D3400 with a kitlens that sadly has a minor fault. So, after reading a lot, I was looking around for my first prime lens, and settled on the 35mm nikor, because I have a crop sensor camera, and I was told the 35mm is the crop sensor equivalent for the nifty fifty. Glad to see you recommend it too :)
