Fun Fact: The reason Randy kept saying he’s startled was because Matt and Trey were making fun of how found footage movies didn’t scare people it just startles them. They also hated Cloverfield
And the Peruvian flute bands seem awful lot like how US media landscape has this or that panic about "bad influence", that conveniently disappears as soon as it stops diverting consumer money into foreign countries that actually compete in the market.
Yeah they’re shitting on modern jumpscare horror. It’s not scary when a monster face pops up and screams at you, it’s startling.

@@Blitzo8390 I can remember my brother being so excited that Cloverfield was coming out I couldn't even tell you what the name of that particular film was going to be because all of the trailers that I saw basically just showed clips from the movie and it didn't give a title. So when it finally came out in theatres I was like yeah that movie looks absolutely stupid. At the time my older brother and I were working for our local Cineplex. My boss was doing a staff show that night and invited us to watch it I did not want to go see it but was basically browbeat and was not allowed to actually go home because my brother insisted that I go because all they're going to show the new Star Trek trailer(as this was before the release of Trek 09). Not only was he completely full of it with regards to that new trailer that was supposed to be in the movie but I also found the movie nauseating and stupid
What's even funnier is that the white guy playing the flute hadn't just learnt it. He was one of the few people alive who could be classed as a master at it.

But he does take W even in episodes where he is a awful, for example the Le Petit Tourette episode he walked away with a W and Kyle with a L or the episode Kenny Dies where he at the end gets his own restaurant by using stem cells...

I have a friend that speaks monotone and slow like him, i have to plan out my days before talking to them just because they make me fall asleep by their voice so I gotta go in with the most optimal amount of energy.
Those people in real life are actually my favorite types of people. They always point out irony in the most comprehensible way. I notice others usually hate those kinds of people because they're typically right and reasonable.

They promised I would double my money in one afternoon, but the government arrested us along with all the other Peruvian flute bands and took us to an intern camp in Miami. We begged to go home, but instead, the government told us they were sending us to Peru. And so, that is why I am now in Peru. If I die, let it be known that it is because four guys I don't even like from school lied to me and took my birthday money.

2:07 The thing that makes Cartman "likeable" when compared to other characters that are pices of shit like Jennifer Walters from the She-Hulk show or Velma from, well, Velma, is that he's intentionally designed to be the most disgusting and bigoted person imaginable, and most importantly THE WRITERS AND THE SHOW ARE AWARE OF IT, and make Cartman the butt of the joke in most occasions, and the world punishes his behavior, no one in his school actually likes him and characters like Wendy and Kyle call him up on his bs. Whereas in Velma and She-Hulk, the characters are always treated like they are in the right despite being toxic individuals, and are liked by most characters in their respective shows.
Another thing that makes Cartman above those types of characters is that Cartman puts actual effort to get his way, like the Scott Tunnerman episode, when he goes up and beyond to have kyle succ his 🅱️alls or has to go to Jersey to save Kyle. Whereas, again, Jen and Velma get everything through minimal effort.
One last fact that makes Cartman "likeable" is that Trey and Matt use Cartman's bad traits and characteristics to drive entire episodes and put him in entertaining situations
-His stupidity makes him drink Vagisil to become a Nascar driver
-His pettiness towards his friends makes him tame C'thullu
-His greed and selfishness makes him eat fake pirate gold
-His stupidity makes him and lack of awareness makes him turn into the leader of an actual pirate crew
Whereas Jen and Velma's trait aren't treated (or even acknowledged) as flaws, but as charming imperfections that shouldn't be corrected.
That's why Cartman works where other characters falter in being as likeable and entertaining as him despite being an unlikable person
