    Im a redseal on road and off road mechanic with electromechanical background. I've watched a lot of videos over the years. You're video I watched here is by far the best. Based on knowledge and experience. Thorough , to the point and simple. I sure hope you are a teacher or instructor. Thanks.

    Pressing the shaft instead of the race will ruin or severly shorten the life of the pump.

    installing the bearing shaft in this video,if press on the shaft may be cause for damaged the new bearing ?,and seem like the shaft had been pressed up side down then the impeller was touching with the housing and making grinding sound ?

      @DorelBorlea  3 роки тому +1

      It was the first time I replaced a bearing in a water pump. I should have pressed the bearing housing, but I don't think there will be any problems because I pressed the bearing shaft. The impeller does not touch the water pump housing, the grinding sound is due to the pulley rubbing against the hydraulic press holder.

    Just did this on a jd pump and broke the pulley groove ,best to pull the pulley and press out from the impeller side

    good vid. I leart a lot. How about lube on the shaft? my buddy says he uses Co2 on the parts to shrink the metal and lubes the parts but this gets costly. Parts slide in without much pressure. My shop had a pressure ga on the unit so you wouldn't break or blow up parts and we also had a guard screen around the work area. be careful. using a press can be dangerous.

    Salutare, hai sa mai detailam împreună ceva, am mai vazut un sistem de presare, la care folosea o bucsa și presa direct pe camasa exterioară a rulmentului, evita predarea pe bilele rulmentului.

    • @DorelBorlea
      @DorelBorlea  4 роки тому +1

      M-am gandit odata ca s-ar putea sa afecteze rulmentul. Dar forta de apasare nu a fost asa mare. Rulmentul a intrat destul de usor in camasa pompei si am zis sa nu mai pierd timpul pentru confectionarea acelei bucse. Corect este cum ziceti dvs. apasarea trebuie facuta pe camasa rulmentului.

    I have been doing this all day long trying to knock the shaft out of my water pump that is just like that and it will not release. Do you know why?

    • @DorelBorlea
      @DorelBorlea  Рік тому

      The hydraulic press is equipped with a 20-ton jack. The bearing came out quite hard. Maybe you should use a degreasing spray or maybe you need to heat the bearing.

      @@DorelBorlea I used a 50 ton jack and still cant get it to move at all. I usually don’t have any problems working on my equipment but the water pump is new for me. I have tried everything. I took it to a friends house who had a 20 ton hydraulic jack and they laid a peace of flat iron on the shaft and it never moved, So I went and bought a 50 ton jack and it still didn’t move.

    You don't press a bearing in by its shaft, you press it in by the OUTER RACE. you likely greatly shortened the life of that bearing by pushing it in via the shaft which is a huge no-no....

    • @DorelBorlea

      The pressing force is not that great. I don't think there will be any problems because of this.

      Estaba buscando información sobre cómo reparar una bomba de agua. No encontré mucho. Hice lo que pensé que era correcto. Incluso si empujé el eje central, consideré que no hay riesgo de dañar el rodamiento. El rodamiento entró con bastante facilidad y no resistió.
