These fellows exist in EQOA in an area known as Elephant Graveyard, they go by the name of Child of Xrag, and there is an Overlord Xrag with a headdress that's at the top of a temple. Some are undead but most are not. Not sure if EQOA offered any insight on them, i think their Overlord was part of a quest. Not sure. I just know that people very frequently pulled him into other groups downstairs lol, because i had been killed quite a few times by him. A popular spot for Enchanters who would charm a VERY OP, nearby mob in Kelinar known as an Ebony Recluse. Sadly the site cleared out for a while after SoE added an extremely powerful caster mob known as Sphere of Annihilation and also decreased the charm time of the recluse if memory serves. We largely went back once acquiring more levels and arcane resistance gear.
King Xorbb is one of the hardest mobs to spawn I have camped. There is no known pattern to spawning him. I found circling the zone with a ranger darting everything that moves seems to be the best practice and may still take days to weeks to get the King up.
@@griffca4814 You'd think the game mascot would have pages of lore but I've literally found more on the Allizewsaur then her. I'll keep looking around and see if I can find more history on her than just her battle in Kithicor and the outpost that bares her name.
@@lorewhoregalore1393 I saw some stuff from the comics. There like 30$ a pop so too rich for me. Apparently her mother was married to the king but had an affair with the leader of the high elf paladins and Firiona Vie was born. A scandal like that would ruin the paladins and the king so the king pretends she's his daughter while encouraging the "princess" to lead a life of a common adventurerer. Far and away from Felwithe. That's what I got from synopsis of it.
What always freaked me out was that sound of their eye lid when you get close to them Yikes! Also the named ones in the gorge anyways had round objects in their names like Sviir, Syrkl love that zone
What about the eyes stolen from the sea giants to turn them into cyclops? The giant hands got reanimated. The eyes... I blame Gnomes. It had to be the Gnomes.
I thought that too! But they can see me while I have the Invisibility vs Undead spell on me, so at the very least it shows they aren't undead. But that optic nerve/tail they have hanging from them does make me think that might have been their original origin story. Maybe?
I didn't realize they had to be undead to be eyes from a cyclops but it looks like you're right. I did a little more digging and found this old post about evil eyes from EQ 2 (forums.daybreakgames.com/eq2/index.php?threads/i-guess-even-the-evil-eyes-have-thier-myths-legends-and-gods.422545/ . I believe the third post is from a dev for EQ1 and EQ2 (Vhalen).
@@malek351 Great find! Because of the way EQ history was recorded (alot of its wasn't officially written down from what I understand) some aspects of EQ lore have completely different explanations depending on the source your looking at. For the purposes of my videos I'll be trying to limit the information I present to what I find in EQ1 and in the published books, but forum posts like these are still really interesting!
In your video about the Reanimated hands you determined they were the severed hands of giants still able to wield magic. In that same video it was mentioned that Prexus plucked the eye of each seafaring giant. Possible they were reanimated in a similar way as the hands?

These are amazing please do more!

@@lorewhoregalore1393 please do one about Firiona Vie. There's really not much about her on any of the wikis.

I was thinking the exact same thing as I was watching the video!
sweet. eq lore
lol great video I'm glad I found your channel
According to everquest 2 lore they are creations of cazic thule born in the plane of fear.
I just found these. They are great. TY LW.
Could the evil eyes somehow be related to the eyes that Prexus plucked from the seafury cyclops?
