The new Zorn Masada quartet is some of the best music of 2021. Saw this band in Denver. Second time seeing Julian. First was with Neil's Cline 4 one of the best guitar players on planet earth. Bill Frisell put on the best display of guitar I have witnessed in a small venue. But this band is right up there. Pat at the Paramount Theater was another from 21

Hey Julian Lage in case you're reading comments...a question: Are you "picking" with nails on your right hand or with the pads of those fingers? I'm trying your technique but the right hand fingers sound really low and soft.
Didn't know that daredevil can play guitar like that.
I lovee when I hear people that play their own way like, yea its jazzy but it's like pop jazz between learning stuff like this and dash in some ted green chords and approach with a dusting of some Greg Koch gristle tones backing like a chicken picked future insurance claim if I can make it all translate better watch it

@@ggnoise Ah, I see! Is that also the string guage he used for his Telecaster guitars, say, on Arclight?
@@JonSebastianF I'm not sure on that, but I would imagine they'd be similar. I'd been trying to find out his string guage for Tele myself, so the Squint string set was most welcome. I put them on instead of my usual 10-46 and really enjoy them, though I had been recently playing 11-51 flat wounds on a different guitar and the 10-46 had started to feel insubstantial
