- My running career has been full of many highs and lows but this has to be one of the best moments so far! To be able to call myself a World Record Holder in the sport that I love is honestly such a big honour. Don't get me wrong though this isn't all I've got the 1500m training has been pushing me from strength to strength and I'm very excited to where the next few years will take me!
Thank you to the amazing event organisers of the Kö MEILE go check out their social channels and website if you want to get involved for yourself next year!

I feel like Giles' biggest strength is his mindset. How many guys could have his run-up to the Olympics (initially not selected for the team, falls down twice, etc) and end up breaking a WR the same season. Even at the end of the video he's talking about going after the 1500m WR someday! That kind of confidence is amazing - I love to see it.
Congratulations World Record holder! That was so great to see. Fingers-crossed for a sub 3.30 in Brussels.
Dude go easy on yourself, you dropped Nuguse an Olympic medalist! 3:51 for a road mile is awesome. Sure the track mile is a bit quicker, but a track gives you more. A 3 second world record is still very impressive. Well done!
Well done bro a world record is a world record don’t play it down not many can achieve what you have done 👊🏽🙏🏽
Excellent well done. Can’t think of another situation at this level where an athlete sets a world record then next race effectively paces the guy he beat who wins that.
Brilliant achievement, well done! You’re an inspiration and your insight is fascinating, thank you for sharing
Absolutely delighted for you. You did it a fantastic achievement 👏
What a run 👏 Well done Elliot
Fabulous race, congratulations! One of the founders of this event is a well-known middle distance runner in Germany, Maximilian Thorwirth. He missed the Olympia qualifying time for the 5k in Paris by only 5 seconds. He is the one leading the pack on the bike during this race.
Love the honesty of these, also great to hear you talking about goals rather than being coy on what success looks like. Congrats on the W and WR
Amazing achievement, well done mate!
As for you not knowing where the finish line was, seems like a bit of an oversight for them to arrange this whole event and not have a ribbon at the line. Unless that's normal for these 1 mile races?
That interaction with your offspring should be your intro or outro. Put a beat after that and it’ll go CRAZY!!!!!
Congrats on the huge achievement. Been a turbulent year for yourself and many others would've caved & given up from the pressure, stress, not achieving targets and online abuse. Thoroughly deserved and great to see it all put in to the great content
Well done Elliot! Perhaps they'll consider a finishing tape next year.
Huge congratulations to you! You are a true warrior who never gives up and someone who has such determination and blessed with a a hard work ethic!🎉🎉
Congratulations on an amazing achievement. You are and always will be a world record holder! I like the strategy breakdown of the race as well.
Well Done! I've been watching this channel over the past few days and am liking many of the videos so far. 👍
That bed sharing part was gas. I'm delighted to see you do so well, you're great. Well done.
Wow great motivation, new sub!
I was soooo happy to hear about this and excited for this video. Well deserved!
I think the fact that you beat Yared Naguse, shows the quality of the run! 🤜
That edit was so tough 🫣
I’ve been waiting for this one. Congrats 🥳
You couldn't write the script , could you! Elliot can look back on his previous 800s as speed training. Seriously though, being able to pace himself through the finish line against Yared of all people bodes well for the future. As for karma, he was able to pay back Nuguse in Zurich as pacemaker when Yared beat Ingebrigtsen. Good luck in Brussels!
Amazing! Fast pushing fast lowers all times. Exciting times.
Fantastic mate, delighted for you
You might surprise yourself again. Great run 🏃♂️👍
Quality mate enjoy and congratulations
The videos =👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Well done Elliot! 👏👏👏
Amazing run congrats on being a works record holder
I knew you had it in you, well done Elliot!!!!
Outstanding end to the season bud well deserved 🫡👌
Love this
Go get 'em
Savage, ur being to modest, look at who u beat,it's only when u can't run those times any more that u appreciate how fast u ran , world record holder🙌
Congrats Elliot 🎉
Well done
Congrats man!
Oooozing Confidence ❤
BEST IN THE WORLD
Congrats on the world record
SECURE THE BAG
🙌
Champ champ🎉🎉🎉🎉
To be considered for a World Road Record, a road race must meet the following criteria:
Course measurement
The course must be measured by an AIMS/World Athletics approved measurer.
Start and finish
The start and finish points must be no more than half the distance of the race apart.
Elevation
The elevation drop between the start and finish must be no more than 1 meter per kilometer.
Course validation
The original course measurer must confirm that the course run was the same as the measured course.
WOW! If you think about it, you beat Jared by more than Hocker did in the Olympic final! If that doesn’t give you confidence I don’t know what will!
Dude epic!!
🎉
Congratulations!! Juggling with the "believing" .. so you belief before and don't believe after? Enjoy feeling healthy!!!
Anywhere down south (not London) offer a 1 mile road race ? (for mere mortals looking way past 4 mins and beyond haha)
congrats champ! fantastic effort.
You have the speed, strength, and talent to go 3:25.9. Call me crazy but it will take an athlete like you with wild speed getting the strength to sit on Jakob and kick off that
Errr no that is crazy…
He’s run 3:30 which is still crazy but 3:25 is just in another league. He could probably run 3:28/29 in a perfect race
@@GrimeyShark Not only is 3:25 another league...it's never been done before so there is no "league". Not even the greatest 1500 m runner of all time, Hicham El Guerrouj, broke 3:26 with his world record sitting at 3:26.00. Very remote chance we see a 3:25 this Friday in Brussels, more likely a 3:26 or 3:27. I do think we'll see a 3:25 in the next 1-2 years though. Not sure which athlete will do it though with the 1500 m being so deep these days.
apologizze..i cant take that ......music!!!nuff-said.
The world record is 3:43.13. So he didn't beat it.
I love your videos, but please don't vlog while driving
Well done! Slightly homophobic with the bed situation though
CLICKBAIT,,,,,💩💩💩💩
It's not exactly clickbait. He broke the record for the road mile.
Bad timing! Josh Kerr just smashed it.
Kerrs time wasn't a wr because it was a downhill race. Giles still has the wr
12:02 he discussed the 5th Avenue race
@@jamesshuck-r3k True. I just meant that Kerr's time eclipsed Giles' effort, even tho' it doesn't count as a record.
@@infocuslearning Josh said it himself, he had assistance by a strong tailwind. So let us not down-play this achievement.
