I once danced with Maddy for a few seconds in 1997. Steeleye was playing the Aladdin Theater in Portland OR. I couldn't resist getting up and dancing when they broke into "Thomas the Rhymer" and I just waltzed up to the front by the stage. Maddy came right down and swung me by the arm and then a lot of other people were dancing too and she danced with all of us. It still lifts my heart (more than a little bit!) to recall it. Thank you for posting this; thank you, Mr. McTell, for writing this song that so captures the magic of watching Maddy cast her spell and sing like an angel while moving with such effortless grace.
a brilliant version, really enjoyed it! hearing his verbal intros is what makes ralph's live shows so entertaining! thanks for uploading ron, extra special as i was there 3 weeks ago :o) needless to say,a fantastic time!!!
Wow, what an amazing and wonderful version of "When Maddy Dances" - and with a really nice surprise towards the end .... Thank you so much for uploading this beautiful gem - and please do feel free to contact me for some further info on Ralph. OK, start practicing, H - and maybe in 10-15 years or so .... ( Well, that's just about how long it took to finally "nail" 'Hands of Joseph', First Song and "Nettle Wine" and lately "Red and Gold" - well, nearly LOL )

Saw Maddy perform at Shaftesbury yesterday & talked to her after the show. She still dances & still has the power to move you. Thanks Maddy & Ralph...
