1000th subscriber! Excellent video man, lots of fun to watch and your points were very well thought out and reasoned. I love this series, too. Keep it up!!
Awesome video dude! Keep up the good work. I speedrun all 3 of these so absolutely love them. If you ever want to break the games I'd be happy to help. 😅
This channel has a fuckton of future. Gladly subscribed. Play Blue Shadow on the NES and make a video review, let's see what you're made of hahaha Great video!! Subbed!!
I remember when I was a kid seeing this game for the first time being played on a Walmart Kiosk, if you remember, the ones where the TV screen was all the way at the top and you had to bend your neck straight upwards to see especially as a 6 year old kid in the 90s. I remember it looking intimidating but in a cool kinda way, the CG gave it an uncanny look even back then, freaked me out a little bit the way clamation did. But I loved it, it helps that the game itself, although not really breaking any ground by any means, is just plain fun and solid and well put together and I just love this game, man!
DKC3 has a hard mode which gives 105% when fully complete. Name the Save file TUFST. All checkpoint barrels are removed and all but 4 DK barrels are removed.
DKC3 feels West Virginia to me. Also I love DKC3's DK coins, they are very creative. But you are right, some of them being "one chance only or redo the level" is unnecessary punishing. It's like whoever made the game used the template of the first two without understanding or have compassion for the player. I love the game though.
I'm one of those people that loves DKC3, and even more rare is that DKC2 is my least favorite of the trilogy. I admit I probably disliked it because I played it last, so the childhood magic of playing a sequel to my favorite game wasn't there, but I also found it boring to only have one theme. These days I see how great DKC2 is, gameplay wise anyway. I just don't think you can beat DKC3 in that regard. Even now I find the over world clever and aesthetically rich. As a kid, it felt like exploring a world. I loved the secret island, hidden banana birds, and the funky-coptor, which is the real reward for completion, I think. I do enjoy the slower gameplay with puzzles and hard challenge minigames though. Also, I'm sorry, but other than Aquatic Ambiance, Nuts and Bolts is the best Donkey Kong song. It's so good they named a horrible B&K sequel after it...
@@aygtets I get that fully, I played the third game after replaying the first two multiple times so that’s also why it didn’t impress me as much. And Nuts and Bolts (the song anyway) is cool but Rockface Rumble is undefeated
Also to up your engagement with another comment. You know Squitter is the best because even after maybe decades seeing him on screen in this video made me feel that 'fuck yes' feeling you get when you were able to play as him in game.
DKC2 is my second favorite platformer, second to Yoshi's Island. As far as DKC3 being underappreciated, it's still best selling games on SNES, sell better than Final Fantasy 6 (3) and Killer Instinct. It's also the best selling game that's never bundled with SNES along with Street Fighter 2

You know a DKC remake with a claymation type look would kinda go hard
@@ChacePlayz that would be amazing lol!
another absolute banger

I considered doing that for this video, but I chose the life of my monitor instead

@@ChacePlayz Oh man, so true. It almost feels like the theme of the game in my mind.
