OK, so the gist of this video: One black kid was called "the whitest black kid ever", another one drew curiosity from his hair, and a Latino feels it's racist when people say racism doesn't exist. Verdict: That's not a whole fuckin lot of racism going on at Fordham among the children. This isn't exactly 12 Years A Slave content here. The fact that they gotta put white kids in this video, perhaps because there isn't a great deal of diversity in the student body, might be a signal of something bigger. I'd like to see the racial demographics after this vid, tbh. How many non-white ethnic students are they admitting year to year, and when they DO let a black kid in, why does he have to be the whitest black kid that his friend knows? How many people of color are hired on for teaching and administrative positions?

Yeah it doesn't surprise me that when you search "fordham" on youtube you get some social justice student video about racism. Basically they believe racism exists everywhere white people are.

@@ChernobylPizza I studied there fairly recently. Its the over the top sensitive who get air time. Most students there are cool 😎 and studious. I don't have any regrets about the time spent there.

From what I tell, its biased. The people (I COULD BE WRONG) are all in "One type of social class". Maybe interview more than one?

Tbh, this isn’t awful. I don’t call this racism. It’s just profiling.

I have a close friend who was racially profiled, broadly discriminated against and publicly humiliated by an assistant dean of the business school. He’s one of the most decent people I know and her treatment of him was completely unchristian

Former FCLC student here. The professors bend over backwards to teach the history of racial discrimination and how amazing tolerance and social justice are. You're required to take certain classes. Two of them must be "social science". Well whether you choose sociology or anthropology, you're going to learn things like "race is just a social construct" and that social movements like bombings/violence in Algeria to kick out the French can be positive and justified. You learn very little about sociology as a science about demographics, and a whole lot about how Chinese and Irish immigrants were discriminated against in the 19th century. Required reading was "A Different Mirror: A History of Multicultural America". Our required summer reading before freshman year was a book called "Amazing Grace" which detailed how awful and pitiful the lives of black people in the South Bronx were in the early 1990s. The Lincoln Center campus has more LGBT guys than straight guys, and it's over 60% female. Yes there are a lot of white kids, and white kids tend to be more likely to dorm (most of the campus is commuters). It's an expensive school. They try to get as many minority kids as possible but at some point you have to take the white male with a 1400 SAT score over the latino girl with an 1150. There's DEFINITELY more of a social justice / protest vibe than other schools. Maybe not as much as Columbia/NYU, but certainly more than Princeton. Rose Hill (the other, main campus) is less radical because many of the undergrads are business school students and it's not Manhattan. But it's still infested with Marxists. I had one professor there who told us that 9/11 was a quasi socialist reaction to the crime of American troops stationed in the Middle East.

I go to Fordham- I have never heard anyone say anything racist and as a political science major where we have debates in almost every class (in the Trump era) I think I’d notice something like that. This video should be taken down because it’s an inaccurate description and it isn’t fair to all of the professors and faculty at Fordham who bend over backwards for us.
