Quick question I just picked up my hp42 stove and inside the stove with the fire pot is a metal piece just laying there not sure what it’s for? Do you have any idea was it just for shipping? I ran the diagnostic and everything was good except the vacuum light . This is my second pellet stove so I’m kinda familiar. Had a castle serenity . Any info would be greatly appreciated
Very good review, I appreciate the detailed walk through. 1 Quick question, how many hours of run time with 1 hopper fill? I may be picking one up shortly.
Appreciate the feedback. This stove is still new to market. With that said, I can't provide an honest answer. I have had the HP22ss. Smaller hopper size. We received 18hrs of burn time on a full hopper of quality pellets....low temp setting. Thank You
Hi guys, we really liked your video on this stove and bought one. But we have an extra part that we don't know where it goes. We can't find anywhere in the manual where it talks about placement of these parts. In the parts description, they are called the fire shield center plate #8 and the suction strut #7. Can you help please?
New stove this year. Should just have the burn pot and ash pan inside the burn area. Comfortbilt may have made a change that we are not aware of. If so, please give their tech support a call. Thank You
So my pellet stove is smaller and more simple and I have a smaller house so that’s fine with me. So I’m pellet stove is purely mechanical and does not use any electricity of any kind. There’s no circuitboard or anything like that. There’s a hopper and you have to start it with the torch and then after you start it, you control an air intake after the burn chamber so it kind of works in reverse. If you give it more air, it burns slower and if you give it less air, it burns hotter. I have a magnetic thermometer on the burn chamber. And I am the thermostat that’s how that works but I used the heat for a couple years only used that and I like it. It seems to work good. And I like the simplicity and I do like that it doesn’t require any electricity so the power goes out and just doesn’t affect my heating at all. No remotes no anything like that. I got to get off my booty and change the settings if I want to that’s OK. I bought it used for about half the price of a new one and it had only been used for a couple years so that was fine.
Great video! So do you guys recommend installing the fresh air intake. Even if we don’t have a mobile home? I’d rather it not pull air from the cracks in our home and just put positive pressure inside the house.
I got it hooked up guys I just had one more question that wasn’t covered in the video. It came with one more piece inside the fire box… I’m thinking it’s the pellet drop chute? Kinda looks like a metal table. Any help would be welcomed! Thank you
Tech and engineering has changed with most newer pellet stoves. Oil each year isn't really necessary. A plus is to blow out the motors with compressed air each year. Thank You
A real review that is detailed, factual and entertaining.
Appreciate the positive comments. Briggs and I are having fun with these videos
Grest video,
Question when raking the heat exchange tubes. Will you get a lot of airborne ash?
When raking in and out?
Lmk,thx.
Yes
Do when stove is cold.
Door shut....let ash settle, open door then clean.

Maybe it’s the fire shield plate lol I’m lost with just this one part

If its a plate...it goes over the heat tubes
@@MilesPelletStoves yea man I’m not sure, I seen on one of the other comments they had the same issue. It’s obviously something very simple.
Does the auger motor have metal gears?
We have not cracked open the auger motor and cannot verify to date.
Thank You
This guus sounds like scotty Kilmer
Yeah, we’ve been noticing too. 👍🏼
How do you think the HP41 compares? Still good quality?
Good Evening
We have a HP41 coming in next week. From there, Briggs an I will post a 360 degree review.
Thank You....Brett
Receiving ignition failure just a few mins after fire is going
Please call ComfortBilt Tech Support as the HP42 is new this year.
Do you have to oil the motors every year?
Tech and engineering has changed with most newer pellet stoves. Oil each year isn't really necessary. A plus is to blow out the motors with compressed air each year.

Miles is correct. They usually have sealed bearings and either Delrin (plastic) or brass bushings these days.
