- The Supreme Court sided with a Jan. 6 Capitol riot defendant in a ruling that could affect hundreds of prosecutions, including the criminal case in Washington against former President Donald Trump. Voting 6-3, the justices limited the Justice Department’s use of a 2002 law that makes it a crime to obstruct an official proceeding. The Enron law is too vague, so I am happy to see it struct down. Once people distance their thoughts from Trump and Jan 6, they will see how horrible DoJ was in stretching this law to fit and what it would have meant to all protests and all actions that can be proven to have slowed down an official proceeding.
Why on earth would anyone distance their thoughts from J6? They tried to overturn the votes of the majority of the people of the US, with not just riots but fake electors!
