Brian did this song for Melinda. She was the key to the great comeback and recovery not only as a musician but as a person. She is now in Heaven and I'm sure she'll be fine. I have no doubt Brian will have all the support from Al, Mike, Bruce, his sons and daughters, friends and all of the fans around the world.
Brian, you aren't alone. We love you and Melinda will take care of you and the children from above.

I was so upset over the poor recognition of the song by Academy. The song is not even shortlisted but truly deserved to be nominated and even deserved to be the winner.

Not enough views and likes. Sad. This man is a legend and is right up there with the Beatles, yet no coverage or views hardly. Too many times people wait until someone has passed to appreciate them.

TBH I think I like it that way. If a mass of people start catching on to it, they will ruin it, just like everything else the masses touch.
He doesn't seem to strive for the same kind of fame as the Beatles.
Most singers lose this vocal ability and heart felt joy by the time they're this age ..but there's something Brian held onto. It's something that kind of makes you crazy, but without it, you might as well just hang it up ...both in life and music.

Love & Mercy film is awesome. I thought I knew all the story, but the depth of evil by Eugene Landy was beyond belief. Just goes to show how micromanager control freak quacks can kill of any sort of creative thought. Brian was very lucky to find a loving woman to free him from the monster that was Eugene Landy.

You have to remember that it's a film first and historical document second. Who knows how much of that was exaggerated?
Armentitron From accounts from Carl and other musicians that knew Brian at the time, it was nowhere near exaggerated. Even Brian himself felt like he was listening to the real Landy again.

This beautiful song is SOOOO Brian Wilson. It's got those classic BW chord progressions and changes in melody, going here, then there, then returning once again back to the main melodic theme. Gorgeous lyrics. A real feature-song, from what is one of Brian's most delightful album creations in his 'modern' post-Beach Boys era. Thank God he's still with us .. A LIVING TREASURE .....

I was going through an extremely hard time with my family, it got so bad that I actually ran away and when I came back.... it felt like they didn’t want anything to do with me. I was suicidal and down, this song came on, on my phone so I plugged in my earphones and listened. It helped me a lot.
I’ve been a BB fan ever since I could remember. Brian Wilson went through similar things like I had and he was there (in song) when nobody else was. His music and inspirational story saved me. I still listen to this song when I get down

I'm in the middle of reading the Brian Wilson biography. I happened upon this song after listening to the God awful 1988 album containing "Love and Mercy." This song is so wonderful and makes me want to see the movie, which I will after finishing the book.
So sad that this isn't eligible for the Oscars.

Without Dr Landy Brian would've gotten a better therapist that didn't abuse him, drug him, starve him, keep him from his children, his mom and Carl, and his girlfriend.
@Ibraam, while we all respect Marilyn Wilson, I hardly think that she's in any medically, psychiatrically, or medically qualified to make that judgment. She was, after all, one of the members of Brian's family to approve Landy's treatment. Of COURSE she'd back up her original mistake with continued approval of Landy's seedy capabilities.
The Disingenuous Gamer an awfully controlling person was so abusive and terribly using dear Brian almost to a point of no return. God Bless Brian and his artist who loved and cared about him. They knew he was the Brains behind the music . We love you Brian, both brothers .

Thank goodness, when the bad intentions were clear to Brian, he booted him out and was able to function and thrive as a free person again.

Lovely song from a very good movie, altho. I could watch it only one time during a pandemic. I recently became a new Brian Wilson and Beach Boys fan when I saw the tv movie The Beach Boys, An American Family. I've now watched it more than ten times because I fell in love with BB music for the first time and found the performances really believable. I'm glad that they didn't make the 2nd half all about Brian's terrible struggle with mental illness and drugs because that would have been unwatchable for many, esp. for some young people.
One of the most unrated movies I have ever seen! Brian your story really touched my heart. I am sure it touched others as well! I made an Acapella version of both "Don't Worry Baby" and "Sloop Jhon B" after watching the movie "Love And Mercy!" If you get a chance, Brian, Give them a listen. I know you are a busy man but, even though I am no professional, I did the best I could on those 2 songs. I changed the word from Nassau Town to Poros Town, in the song "Sloop Jhon B," because it is a city on the Island of Kefalonia, Greece, where my Grandfather was born! Thank you for the music and for sharing your story!

I wish they gave the drums a more analog, warm-retro mix and recording...other than that I love this an any new Brian Wilson music! Pet Sounds still is a much better album than most any album that has ever came out after it.
