    Hey Franky I know this is an older video but it straightened me out. FINALLY! I’m a 52 year W M from Al. so I should know by now how to replace a flint.
    Not until today! All because of you Frank.👍 There was countless times I would make Excuses for someone else to replace my flint. Like... I would tell my uncle “Hey replace this flint for me real quick. You’re a lot faster at it than me.😣
    I didn’t even know how... TY

    I've got two older zippos that I've had just sitting for years and now trying to get them working like they used to. I'm learning a lot from you my friend I don't want to replace the insert I like to keep everything original. My main concern is the spark I think. I'll keep watching you 😊

Mission accomplished :-D There's a little residual flint left in the shaft (impossible to get out) that makes it a little difficult to turn the wheel, but I can still get it to work. Hey Frank, I forgot to tell you that I had the EXACT SAME
    🐫CAMAL🐪 lighter back in the 90’s. I had to save up a CRAP💩LOAD of CAMAL CASH then send it in to redeem it for a zippo. I got my wife the ladies version CAMAL Zippo. It was smaller and white with the CAMAL logo with flowers around I think flowers on the camels head. To bad I moved place to place so many times they both got lost.(or stolen)
    The only complaint is when I carried my camel Zippo in my front pocket I didn’t like the sharp edges. And it’s a little big to carry. Besides I’m old now and the only job my current Zippo really has sparking 💥

    nice mirror finish on that insert, perhaps you know how many millilitres it take to fill then? also i tried using paraffin lamp oil in mine and it was not lighting or when lit left lot of smoke i tried letting sit a day out of its case to dry it out and refilled with zippo fluid but still giving me hard time lighting and still smokes i figured there must be some left over paraffin in it that still messing it up perhaps , will the smoky stuff eventually go away after a few proper fills with zippo fluid? and what should i do let it dry out again or keep it flaming till all the stuff is gone and refill again?

    • @FrankGuest

      @ARCSTREAMS Рік тому

      i been just filling it with zippo and lighting it with a lighter letting it stay lit a long while hoping to burn through the paraffin and seems to be lighting on its own at times but still smoking ,might take a while but i don't understand why it won't light on its own without another lighter when i try it the next day as if the wick keeps drying up and needs help despite my refilling it with zippo a couple times now, my imco junior is much more reliable i prefer it for many reasons over a zippo @@FrankGuest

    This is fucked up I have to do all this work for a new zippo lighter to light. It's a lighter not a dam PC being built from scratch. How was I supposed to know I needed some specific pliers to pull the wick up? I already bought the fluid and filled it up which should've been enough

      You are correct. With a new lighter you should not be having these issues. I would have returned it and zippo would have replaced it for free.

    It will spark but wont light up

      Add fluid and then pull out your wick so it’s clean then cut the wick so it’s flush with the top. Then try it. If that does not work, click the link in the video description and buy a new wick.

      I could never part with it. I used it just about every day in the late 90’s. Then not until I did this video. After this video, I lit a few cigars and then it went right back in my drawer. I’ll take it out on special occasions.

      I am slightly confused by your comment. The lighter in this video is pretty old. Not new at all. The only thing I replaced was the flint and added fluid. I have had several zippos and that all have lasted a long time. Plus they have a life time warranty from the company. Thanks for watching anyways!
