7/4/21 Update: This video has just reached over 100k views, there is more compilations in the works and in planning but I won't go into more detail on what they are yet. So far, DTG has been pumping out DLCs which is why do avoid making compilations because of that as I would get constantly asked to make it again. When I had made this video, it was very unknown that the MP36PH-3C would be coming, there wasn't a roadmap back then compare to now that I'm aware of what is coming for the game. I had to make a V2 of this video in the summer before Train Sim World 2 got released, then a following one in December once the LGV got released excluding TSW2020 content since I no longer have that installed due to everything expect NEC NY made it all through. NEC was a crappy route anyway and didn't enjoy it due to the signaling system was very intrusive especially if you do have the safety systems on, it didn't got a chance to get ported in due to other problems and I'm glad it didn't, so as the GP40 and SW1000R. Once again, thanks for the support and happy virtual railfanning.

Decided to record the horns of every single train or locomotive exists in Train Sim World 2020 as of January 2020. Not only the horns but also the bells that every US locomotive have or maybe something extra.
I may want to make another one of these end of the year with all the future DLC.

Lots of the American freight trains could use better horns. Especially the csx heavy haul trains
I think they could have done better when doing the horns too. Now I don't know to much about mods bit I'm sure there can be mods for better horns. There might already be some as far as I know.

I even prefer British trains to American ones.... Some of the American ones are a let down... And yes the old British trains sound strange to foreigners. And they sound like music because most of them have two tones horns whilst American is single tone.

All the US freight locomotives are just terrible. The passenger locos and cab cars are pretty nice though. Especially the CalTrain cab car.
Trailing Rails I don’t know... the AC44 is good and so is the SD40-2. The GP38-2 is overused though.

The csx horns are good in all but in real life a gp40 gp38 sd40-2 and ac4400cw horns are not the same

The Caltrain, the M7 and the CSX series horns are among the most realistic sounding ones. Unfortunately the horns of the German series sound very recorded with no echoing and sound cutting off abruptly at the end like the BR767.2. There some exceptions like the BR143.
The M7 horn is atrocious. It sounds nothing like the real RS2M.

CSX horns sucks
Personally I think the Brit/European horns sound depressing. The CSX horns don’t sound awful, but can use some variety. Hands down the best horn is the CalTrain P2.

The CSX engines are PC only. The GP38-2 and GP40-2 can be used in the Northeast Corridor on consoles long they are purchased respectively.

American horns are boring as they only have 2 where as british have 2 tone

That was released a few weeks after this video was published, if I saw a teaser of it then this video wouldn't be possible. Since it was made in January, that month is a break month meaning that nothing get released in January and July.

Train Sim World 2 and that wasn't out at the time of recording this video. That came out August 20, 2020 and if you read the date that I published this video which is way before that.
I had uploaded the Train Sim World 2 horn compilation includes all trains as of December 2020 excluding the NEC, SW1000R, and GP40-2 add-ons since these aren't part of the preserved collection.

Conor On The Rails the AC44’s bell is extremely accurate. It’s the EMD’s that need to be fixed.
