I've over watered hundreds of herbaceous plants but trees never once and this time of year Im watering my newly planted mangoes every other day for the first summer
My tulip poplar tree has been prematurely dropping its yellowed leaves, mostly from the top of the tree. In recent days, temps in our area have reached record highs, over 100 degrees, plus we’re in a moderate drought, from the heat dome that’s been parked over us for the past month.
Like you show in this video, my new kousa dogwood has actually put on new growth over recent weeks, even during this heat, since I’ve been watering it religiously.
Thanks for this video. Some people panic. I spray some “sunscreen” it helps a bit
Great content man! I would appreciate it if you could share your advice on how you effectively deal with insects like spider mites in high-temperature environments.
Right now we need to plant all types of plants no restrictions. On my island we have become so complacent. Cutting down large tree that would have helped with rain. People have been buying fertilizer like mad. When you tell them the plants need water they think you are crazy.
It's all part of the plan.
thank you i need to feed my plants
Great explanation, Alan. Thank you!
Thanks for this video, Alan! Love it!!
Love the channel.
watch from 9
Bro all you need is "Fish Emulsion" 😂
But can "overwatering" kill your plant due to poor draining soil? I think people will call that "overwatering" because sitting in water damaged the root ball or is that another myth?
Absolutely just water papayas and bananas during winter frequently and you will see how fast they die from over watering
@@justinkasica721 papayas and banana are sensitive to that, but what about your other common fruit trees like guavas, stonefruit, apples/pears, citrus, fig, acerola, pomegranate, etc?
@@chosen2030 I have a video on overwatering in my channel, check it out
Ph of the water matters also
no
The stem of a vining plant splits open. Isn’t that a sign over watering. More worried of root rot from watering daily
Thank u as always
I pulled out my hong kong orchid plant n RPonciana plant newly planted in oct bcuz they never woke up. RP looked like its slowly dying green scratch was getting lighter n lighter.
Frustrated me. I thought i did everything possible to care for them esp in the winter. I put red warm lights for the cold at times. I partially covered them during the winter. I thought they would bounce back n thrive here in vegas.
I dunno i feel like not trying to grow things again however i know i can do it.
Hate spending $$$ with my newly plants n it does not come back.
Anyways. Pls keep up the vids. It helps me.
Hope u can do vids continuously. I have a hawaiian golden bamboo n not sure how deep i should plant in ground n have i guess its a hallow stem with it. Do i in-ground that stem when planting?
TIA for ur teachings

This question is for anyone who can help. My avocado leaves all turned crispy brown , the stems seem fine but all the leaves are dead. Should I keep the avocado or get another. My avocado seedling which is around 6 months now is doing great in the heat and its right next to the in ground avocado that has crispy brown dead leaves.
avocado plants are heat sensitivex especially grafted. Ill make a vid about it next week.
Have you ever talked about outdoor ficus trees?
those are easy. I'll do a how to vid soon.
@@qctropicals I ask cause I live in scottsdale and my newly transplanted trees are struggling
What about if the whole plant has sunburn, is it lack of water ?.
👍🏼
We've been very hot. The last 8 days have been 110° or above. 118° for a couple days in a row. In anticipation of this I severely pruned foliage on an already struggling butterfly bush(leaves turning yellow) I water religiously morning and night. What is your opinion regarding pruning in an effort to save a plant. I don't know if I saved it or will end up killing it. It's hanging on right now.
I’d like to water three times a day, but the water out of my drip line comes out boiling hot for the first minute or two. Is that a problem ?
No problem at all. Water coming out of my lines will burn you when first turned on.
Watering is over-rated. I just buy my fruits from the store, like a normal person.
you've been conditioned well
I almost killed my cucumbers and tomatoes because of the “overwatering” advice. Snap peas died. 🪦
