    For this specific video the best videos for the end screen will be about fertilizer and up potting plants and maybe watering. I watch all your videos till the end even though I grow plants for 30y:) you are the only one who provides valuable content regarding gardening!

      @@qctropicals you can define for each video (you can then import that settings from another video to make it faster for future videos). It will be shown during last 30 sec(don't recall exact number) of your video. You definitely need to utilize that feature. I don't get many views from that feature bc only 10% people watch till the end. That way people will stay on your channel longer especially new viewers

    My experience is that pot size relates to the amount of soil in the pot. So I always make a little mount in the pot and after around 6 months it sinks down to below the rim, which makes watering easy and leaves enough soil in the pot

    Lots of the nurseries here in Barbados have rootbound plants so when you root prune & up pot appropriately the just explode with growth both inside & outside of the pot.

    Here in Europe including myself too we sell plants in 4inch pots or 9-10cm pots square or round because Holland made this standard thing.

    Fun to watch as always. I really appreicated the video on up potting. Have a guamachil and the uppot was fun with all the thorns. tried propagating guavas from my trees cuttings but maybe I need chilli's salvia to help it grow. Guavas seem tough to propagate. Best wishes.

    When are plants ready to be planted in ground? Do I wait to plant in ground once the plant graduates to container 3, or 5? Or do I go off of years?

  • @geriannroth449

    100-300 containerized plants gets sold at other nurseries though like Excalibur nursery. Every plant's has it's own Niche market.

    I got ripped off last year. I bought a palm that says it's a 7 gallon. Then I bought another one this year. The same 7 gallon palm. It was obvious the new one in a 7 gallon was the exact size. The fronds are bigger and the trunk is 3in taller

    Did you grow a strawberry tree aka Jamaican cherry from seeds? It is much faster to propagate by air layering and it blooms right away

    Great video! I currently have an orange and lemon tree in a 3 gal pot and need to up pot it because it looks root bound. Does citrus tree have a tap root system or fibrous root system? Would you recommend up potting it into a 15 gal that is tall and deep or short and wide? And do you know how many years the tree will stay healthy in the 15 gal before I need to up pot it again to bigger size pot (25gal)?

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  2 місяці тому

      It depends on where you love. When I uppot 5 gallons into 15s, in my area they last about 2 years before they need to be uppotted again. Watch my video on rootbound trees to give you an idea what to expect.

    How do you water small containers if they are not in a tray? I found it quite tedious and time consuming to water manually. Even 1 gal pots dry too fast in Florida and automatic irrigation is not really visible. Overhead watering? What do you do?

    I looked oscomote from your description and bc it has high content of nitrogen and I am wondering if you apply it only specific time of year or anytime of year? Is Amazon where you buy all supplies? I was thinking where to buy to save some money in bulk, I am only starting my garden and still have fertilizer left

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  3 місяці тому

      I have a few videos on fertilizing plants, check them out. The numbers are irrelevant. I use this fertilizer on 100% of my plants and they all do what they're supposed to. I'll fix the links, check in a bit.

    In Florida used 1 gal is for 25 cents and 3 gal which is 2 gal in fact is for 50 cents and they want minimum $20 usually. A lot of sellers BTW.

  • @EffectivePickyEatersSolutions
    @EffectivePickyEatersSolutions 3 місяці тому

    I found when people say 3 gal in fact it just holds 2 gal -2,3 gal at max. For me that size is enough, I don't do more than that
