Man, did I ramble in this video. Sorry about that. Also WHAT possessed me to name the two characters "narrator" and "neighbour" when they sound almost exactly the same I have no idea. My sincerest apologies, as my old-soul 13-year-old brother would say. On watching this back I noticed a couple of times where I mixed up the names in the narration, but I think the text is all good so just pay attention to that and hopefully you won't be too confused.

When I first read this poem, I didn't understand anything at all. It felt like gibberish. But after watching your video I understood it completely. Thank you very much. ❤
I love the irony that the most neighborly interaction between the two in the poem is to build the wall together. In this sense the making of the good fence is really making them into better neighbors because it forces them to cooperate and spend things together
And there is also a lovely paradox in that the boundaries actually require cooperation

I think that the wall falling is not mysterious. It was winter weather that happens every year. So mysterious in the sense that nature seasons/ weather. Hense the need for this to be at spring mending time. The take on the neighbor is of interest. I must admit I read poems literally before looking at metaphors. As Robert said once Metaphor is the thought pattern/ language of poetry.
Very nice, I think I agree to be honest. I think maybe the narrator was trying to find mystery (or magic in the case of the elves) in it to make interest out of a boring task, or you could say that the almighty force of nature has mystery to it.
