I love Una Stubbs energy, absolutely delightful lady, exceptionally bright and so too was Maureen Lipman
David Nixon died 1 December 1978 so this must have been recorded earlier that year - it wasn't broadcast until 27 March 1979. Great to see these vintage episodes. Thank you.

At 11.47, Aspel gives them 3 points when it should have been 2 as they took over a minute to guess. I suppose it's a bit late to do anything now ;-D
he also only gave the women 2 points for mean streets when they should have got 3 points. his scoring was all mixed up this episode. LOL 😂
you can tell this was from the 70s, the public guys mustache, David Nixon and whatever Lionel is wearing along with his afro!! And was Michael explaining the rules for the thicky twins??

Yes - until one bloke read the wrong side of the card and tried to mime his own name!
Took my father ages to discover that only two of the contestants were celebrities - Lionel Blair introduced a member of the public and, having stated his occupation and where he was from and his name, dad said “Never heard of him!”.

Melvyn Hayes was later the voice of Frizz The Urpney in the 1990s cartoon series The Dreamstone.
They guessed Winnie and then all of a sudden they changed it to Windsor!!

Exactly even though GH was 1st. Changed after 3rd or 4th series
_Grange Hill_ used the original version of "Chicken Man". The version used on _Give Us a Clue_ was a re-recording.
I'd forgotten that in the original series they invited non-celebrities on the teams. They soon did away with that idea.

I used to love this as a kid in 1979...I think it was shown after the children's programs before 6pm...I never understood why they kept changing seats...still bugs me to this day...There's no reason for it.
they do it on question of sport as well. they all want to be together :)
I find this version of the show much more laid back and casual than the later versions. I really like it. And Michael Aspel is a much better host than Parky for this sort of show.

Did Una and Lionel devise their own team intros? Seems they found it easier to introduce the fellow celebs with those laboured cheesy puns than the straightforward intros for the members of the public!
