@தமிழ் Buddy Holly died in the same plane and he was the much much bigger star. Eddie Cochran died not long after that too. And he was one of the most talented guitarists and singers from the Rock n' Roll era. Generally speaking: the Rock n' Roll era suffered from deaths and (temporal) loss (by other reasons) of some of its most relevant stars.
Only 17 years old, but in a single year Ritchie had composed and performed three classic great hits: "Donna", "Let´s Go" and "We Belong together"; while making a hell of an adaptation for the Mexican ancestral song "La Bamba". And even more, he was studying the tunes of Turkish (!!) music to adapt them to Rock-and-Roll!! His legacy will be eternal.

Haunting and beautiful 8mm film. Ritchie Valens the fact we still listen to your songs means you will never be forgotten. What talent you had for a 17 year old young man. We were at Pacific Ocean Park in Santa Monica in the 1950's and Ritchie Valens was playing. The crowd was full of teens and my parents held us back because they could act pretty rough at times. I was about 7 years old but I remember him and his music. We shopped in Pacoima a lot in those days and I remember his name coming up with some older guys who hung out in their car in our driveway, listening to music on the AM radio. They couldn't afford the 50 cents for 2 gallons of gas. I played his songs today on my way to the store.
17 is far too young to leave this world especially Ritchie Valens such a lovely God given talent if only he said no to the plane thing's would have been different.. Ritchie Valens was the best ... God rest his spirit in heaven

I’ve never spoken of this to this until now. I was born 19 years after Richie died. Thanks to my parents for introducing me to the music they grew up with. I remember watching the movie La Bamba with my parents when I was 10 in 1987. Only ever hearing that song once I sang it Word for Word in perfect Spanish. My parents looked at me in shock. I dont speak or understand a single word of Spanish. Something happened to me when I was watching that movie I didn’t know until years later that Richie was channeling through me. In 2012 I found myself on a flight to Los Angeles. I went to the San Fernando Valley to Mission cemetery and sat his grave for three hours again he channeled through me as if it was right there with me. And then he told me a lot of details about that plane crash. He also told me other things about his short life.
