What a great Episode for so many reasons
What you think is going to be a fun breather episode with the trickster turns into a pivotal one for the mythology. Brilliant all around.

@@RomanyReacts The pivot/reveal of Gabriel's identity feels so perfect. The show never planned on having angels, but I love they figured out that Gabriel's powers fit into the world of the angels. It's so well done.
Another tv joke was The Trickster said "that is the $64 question". Back in the 50's there was a game show called the $64,000 Question. My favorite part of this whole episode was when they had Gabriel trapped in the holy oil fire circle & he gave them the speech in the warehouse. Excellent acting Richard Speight Jr.! The ring of fire will eventually burn out & you don't want to be around when it does.

And yes, they did an excellent job with all of it AND the Gabriel reveal.
Fortunately, the Japanese game show scene was faked very similarly to how they faked the game show itself: very careful placement of the body.
I got a couple of them. Most obvious one was Knight rider, Loved that so much. Full house I have no idea. And I didn't get CSI, even though I have seen a few of those and loved em

@@RomanyReacts Yeah, that was a strange, though obviously faked, show. I just remember some behind-the-scenes talk about how Jared and Jensen had to be perfectly lined up to not actually get hit. In the context of Supernatural, though, speaking as a guy, I can tell you, Sam would NOT be talking that quickly after being hit there. 😭
@sarahzentexas Knight Rider was in the 80's, not the 70's.
One of the best of the series. Yeah, we should beware any episode in which Gabriel appears.
Great twist, revealing the Trickster to be the youngest archangel - Gabriel.
All the generic music was on point to each “show”, exception being ‘Knight Rider’, as that was the actual theme. I wonder what other kinds of shows Sam & Dean could appear on? There must be some fanfic on that. Now I have to go explore (or write). LOL

Personally I prefer this over S5e23, and there are other episodes down the road that are better than this one.
