    Great music, the brush thing is fabulous; I love this kind of painting video so much -- watching/re-watching a good painter hit the canvas is worth a thousand chat-throughs. Thank you for your uploads --- Edited to add: it's GOLD to see the palette in the shot.

    What's the difference between using shellac or acrilyc gesso as a primer in your amaizing paitings? Thank you :)

    • @LarrivaArt
      @LarrivaArt  5 років тому +1

      Shellac is much smoother than gesso. Acrylic gesso is often very rough and dry feeling. I like a smooth, almost glassy surface. I would caution against using shellac on canvas as it is also very hard and brittle and probably would crack.

    Hello from The Netherlands, I love your artworks and I've been wanting to get into painting for a while now. I just can't find many good references, where do you get them from?
    Again, I am absolutely in love with your paintings, good work 💖

    • @LarrivaArt
      @LarrivaArt  5 років тому +1

      Hello. My references come from lots of sources: my own photos, willing instagramers, stock photos. This one came from a free stock image site called Pixabay.

    Love your channel, masterful work. Can I ask what you mix your oils with and so you allow to dry in between or is it in one go. Brilliant and thanks.

    super cool man!! i love the reds in this piece. i've never used hardboard, do you prefer it over canvas or paper?

    • @LarrivaArt
      @LarrivaArt  5 років тому +2

      Thanks! I do prefer hardboard to canvas and paper. Canvas has too much texture at the scale I'm generally painting and the paper would have to be just the right texture and primed thoroughly, which could cause warping. Hardboard is super hard and super smooth.
