It's great, the soluble fiber clears out your arteries, the insoluble fiber clears out the intestines. It really safeguards your heart against unneeded damage. I try to at least take one tablespoon with breakfast and one before bed. I also find it really calms down the stomach from working hard and promotes sleep in that way as well.
the best way to consume dark chocolate/cacao is through cacao nibs (available on myprotein for sale for example) ginger root is always very welcome in a rice meal, turmeric root w/ black pepper aswell, GOAT combo the limit for cinnamon is 3g a day(Cassia) when it comes to the toxic compound (coumarin). Ceylon is indeed of no concern. Do you think the psylium flakes are useful if you eat a lot of fiber already? say 80g a day I personally believe himalayan salt is just a health fad, a bro science ingredient, so to speak. The minerals within are simply in too low of an anmount to make it worth the extra $. I use an iodized salt. ty for the great content bro, u are aestethic as fuck. keep it up all love
One of the best nutrition videos, i have ever seen. Yes most people are not aware of the difference between cinnamon origin and toxicity, in my homeland bakers are limited to use the toxic cinnamon in big dosage by health authorities, i always buy my Ceylon cinnamon from stock, tven its almost the same price as the common toxic edition from the supermarket.
Mike Yu when he said “the darker the chocolate the more of the cacao that in in there” he is referring to chocolate solids, which is the same thing as cocoa. When a dark chocolate says “80%” they are referring to the cocoa content.

Huge shout out frm Ceylon .. Thath cinnamon product is our so happy to see you using that.. We have best fresh organic cinnamon in the world.. Ceylon = Sir Lanka
I would use more fresh ginger and turmeric root, but it's always such a hassle to use, so I get normally good quality powders. Love to use them in my own salsa or spice mixes; e.g. tomato, garlic, beetroot, lime, ginger, turmeric and peppers. Add to almost anything, great for digestion and just taste!
Really useful and comprehensively explained - great content as always Wesley keep it up. You're a true ambassador of the sport, 2020 will be you year for sure!
I was sitting and eating some dark chocolate when i saw you uploaded this video and was hoping that you'd mention it haha! Happy it was the first thing i heard!
Goeie video Wesley!
@@sg7443yes, he is awesome too. Really dives in the why behind certain foods. Most bodybuilders now days don't worry about how the food effects the body they just worry about the macros or at least that's what they project

I started off with 75% dark chocolate, then every 2 weeks moved 5% higher until now im at 95%. Once you start lower, your taste buds become familiar with the flavor and you can eat it on its own.
Id say these are more like food/meal add-ons. But great video and good info! Not many people include important things like these when talking about diet.
You don't need his opinion, the data is there. Consistent use of garlic has numerous health benefits. It's definitely underrated, it has bad rep due to people not wanting to smell like it.

@VintageGenetics is it not fairly important to note that if people decide to switch from regular salt to Himalayan that they need to be careful of iodine intake? Since regular table salt is very often an iodized salt. And we do know that iodine is very important when it comes to thyroid function.
Wes, great info! Do you recommend Ketogenic diet to lose weight then work on ab Development to get better body fat % around 14? And then do a bulking diet with foods you are recommending?

Isn't the best way to get cacao via baking bars of chocolate? 100% and like $1.50 a bar when on sale at supermarkets
@Lift_dem_weights95 get iodine from eggs, yogurt, pure cranberry juice
cacao nibs are disgusting though
Holy fk , bad cinnamon, bad salt, and no chocolate, psyllium and ginger root.
I have to fix this immediately
already use 3 item in daily basic . just need to add 2 more . Dark Chocolate & Ginger Root ... thank for sharing this priceless knowledge

I skip the chocolate and just add pure cocoa to my smoothies. That way I get 100%.
You want cacao not cocoa.
Mike Yu if you mean raw cacao then you might be right, but cocoa is the same product as chocolate, just without the cocoa butter.

Why not use regular Kakao nibs? They contain no sugar or any other stuff. The chocolate you use has ~17% sugar and some other stuff.
The S vitamin is the most important.
