What essential effects would you load into a pedalboard alongside Universal Audio’s Galaxy ’74? Let us know in the comments and be sure to pick up a Galaxy ’74 of your own from Sweetwater 👉 sweetwater.sjv.io/UniversalAudioGalaxy74
I wish it took an expression pedal. During certain solos, it would be great to bring in the old-time tape distortion slowly and fade it our the same way.
Hi, J.R.Psych74! Thanks for your message, hope you’re well and safe. The source inspiration is the same with the two pedals. Sonically they’re different and it’s down to preference as to which is a better choice for you. Size is a factor, controls and the color of the preamp all factor in. That'd be a huge loss for them. They want us to buy all individual pedals. But, if they stuff a paid monthly subscription program with the "plugin pedal", im sure they would be just as jappy.
Hi, Michael. The two pedals are similar but definitely have some differences. The Galaxy is specifically modeling the old Roland Space Echo, whereas the El Capistan is meant to be an approximation of multiple different tape delays. The El Cap has a multi-head mode so it can do some very Space Echo style sounds, but the Galaxy is more of an exact recreation of that tone. It is a buffered bypass with switchable trails. @@EnochDark they are using the same tech as Strymon model of tech that is 10 years old and still works great. I want the next gen of dsp shark or m1. The latency is only good with dsp chips still to this day.
I bought a nux tape core and its sound really good. Probably worst than UA or Strymon but if you consider the price - around 90 its just really cool. 7 presets. No analog dry thru but still really good option for the money. UA prices and stuff are for pros...
Guitar into amp. Bam. The Gorilla TC-80 I got for under 100 will rip your throat out. Lands in between Angus Young and Steve Jones. Delay is just a laughable money pit. How many songs will you use it on? Buy the 30 dollar Behringer, it’s enough.

Nothing. It seems like a 1-2 trick pony from the demos and for tree-fiddy I think I'll just apply to the Meris LVX.

07:30 Mitch's playing with this thing set at 100% wet is divine.
I absolutely love UAs Galaxy Echo plug-in. I am excited about this pedal for live use.
Great walkthrough Mitch! very clearly explained and well understood!
ooo yea this is way better than the new boss space echoes ... nice
beautiful
This looks amazing
How is this different from the new Boss Space Echos?

Absolutely gorgeous sound. It's a shame I don't play guitar. 😃
😄
Ukulele?
who says you have to use it on guitar?
I'm not sure the world is ready for ambient kazoo.
@@geekmastermind ok... as for me, it sounds good but limited especially since i don't have a smartphone to edit with.
Just release a pedal where you can offload the UAD plug-ins. That would be worth it for me.

If this had midi it would be a no brainer and I would probably solder it to my board.
Ohh so dreamy....
Move over Strymon there’s a new delay sherif in town 😂 and I need one of these!!!
Nah dude..Red Panda are the new delay kings..Raster 2..
strymon timeline is the King 🎉
Who else thought to have a stroke at 2:20 ?
That was the video editor doing a quick test for 10:42
Love this !! Seems similar to El Capista, no?? Is this pedal bufferized?

@@sweetwater Hi Thanksss Charliee ! Thinking of getting either this or el capistan.. Nice input from you, cheers !
Can they just put all their pedals into a helix style box and take my money?
probably soon since this seems to be what others (eventide, meris, tc) are doing yet strymon or ehx have yet to...

Cool but it's getting to be a rich man's pedal world. Not as fun.
It's ridiculous now. $400 each for the good pedals. $200 gets an okay pedal. That's a lot. For Resale you lose at least 1/3.
I know! And I thought the boss Space Echo re-2 was absurdly expensive at $229....

Welcome to 2023.
first
I'll stick to my 'real' Echo Fix EF-X2. Much more fun playing with real tape.
And two grand more
Flaunt it if you got it
