So you know the sniper literally doesn't damage the flood because it's too high caliber. It just goes right through them and creates a hole. The flood has to be pulled apart, so the shotgun is the most effective.

I'm 37 years old, so back when I first played this game I was able to appreciate it from the perspective of growing up with NEW and SNEW, then Playstation as a teenager. Halo had these HUGE levels with giant battles and a cool story that was fucking AWESOME at the time! I did four years in the Army, and the one spent in Iraq was my first and only time I played Xbox Lan Parties with a few guys over the course of my time there. Playing Halo against guys in the other room was one of the most intertaining gaming experiences I'd ever have. Something about sniping a guy and immediately hearing, "YOU FUCK!!! GRRR!!" or some other bit of profanity that just really changes the level of satisfaction from getting a kill. That said, I tried to revisit this game just over a month back and only played for maybe 10 minutes before clearing it off my HD. I guess I'll just let it live on in memory where it was ahead of it's time and not a product of it's time. The remastered versions are appreciated, but most often it seems that anything advertised as being remastered will be an underwhelming experience. The new Mass Effect Legendary comes to mind, because while the devs did a great job with the first game the other two didn't get that same treatment. well said. i'm about the same age and i vividly remember all of my friends playing halo long before ii got into it. i don't know somehow when i was just watching it it didn't seem that fun. then one of my buddies bought an xbox and we decided to try out co-op. actually im pretty sure that was the first time i'd ever heard of the concept. and i remember we read the description for legendary. it's was something like "hordes of invincible alien enemies laugh at your futile attempts to survive, this is suicide." lol for some insane reason we accepted that challenge and thus began one of the fondest videogame memories of my life. we probably spent the next 2 weeks on and off trying to beat that game. i remember whenever an elite would come around a corner i'd be genuinely scared. then if it was two elites i'd just quietly take a moment to think of my loved ones and kiss my ass goodbye! but eventually we got better. we'd shave off a few fractions of a second in our reaction times here, learn how to use this power weapon there, and then at some point it finally clicked. by the time we reached the end of the game we felt like such absolute badasses. that whole experience changed the way i view game forever. co-op is now my favorite gamemode and for most games i'll at least try the hardest difficulty and see how well balanced it feels. actually it probably changed the way i view all entertainment. for me the real kick was having that group experience. don't get me wrong, some things are definitely best enjoyed solo. but having a group of friends experiencing something together is just so damn cool! so yeah, thanks halo! you helped make my childhood awesome. and the franchise is still something i like to visit once a year or so. 😀

It's always magical seeing a Halo newbie's first experience with the series. Especially when you're like me, and been playing the series since the first release.
15:00 “surely halo has a shotgun right?” “This sniper’s gonna be pretty hard to beat” I sense a shotgun montage 😎 Did not disappoint. Can’t wait for HH2!
Think about this way Ted died, so you can live. He knew death could come at any moment. But he still fought to the end to see his best friend, Master Chief, fulfill his duty. With or without him. F for the true hero of halo.
Two Betrayals and the maze-like initial escape during 343 are my only real issues with this. Keyes felt satisfying with the exterior areas, Maw had the engine destruction ‘fight’ with Guilty Spark and the awesome warthog run after.
Dude, that section at the sort of 28/29 minute mark (Assault on the Control Room), you definitely took it the hard way. The room just before that with the hunters, there's an active camo on the floor in there. You grab the camo and if you beeline for the banshee, its timed just enough that you can grab the banshee as the camo fades and you just slaughter them all with the banshee. When I first played it, I honestly thought you NEEDED the banshee to complete the level and didn't realise there was even a away down at the end until a year later so I'd never even encountered a challenge in that part. But that said, it's amusing watching someone decades after its release play it for the first time. I loved Halo, honestly its one of my all-time favourite games (well 1 and 2 mostly, 3 is more player friendly but less deep and moody). But even back then, the later levels felt grindy and I tended mostly to play the first 5 levels for fun unless I specifically wanted to do a full play-though. My brother actually loved the Library, but I just suffered that one. The nostalgia is the main thing though that makes it replayable for me, but from a neutral standpoint without nostalgia, it has aged very poorly. They had a small team with big ambitions and rather than cut too much stuff, the level design ended up cutting corners and became grindy. On a final note, you seemed to really dislike the look of the Forerunner architecture, but coming at it from an architects standpoint, I found that Halo 1 was probably the best for architecture. It was generally 'grey' and the hardware limits kept stuff pretty boxy, but there's a lot of thought put into it with lighting and structuring. I find that Halo CE had far richer Forerunner architecture than any of the following titles. Halo 2 was good, but really bad lighting and somehow worse shaders than CE really let it down, and then Halo 3 was just like "we have new hardware power boys! Lets pack in the geometry for the sake of it" and it all just started looking flimsy, glossy and spindly (not monolithic and ancient like you'd expect for a 100,000 year old megastructure). Assault on the Control Room was still a bit 'extra grey' as the lighting was often flat and monochrome, but Silent Cartographer was a masterpiece of Forerunner architecture and by far my favourite level out of the first game (unsurprisingly it was built before the time and manpower crunch hit which messed with later levels).
I'd love to see you do a short final impressions section at the end of each of these, to see how you feel about the series as a whole. All around, another banger from Indeimaus.
You got Zanny in this!!! This video is going to be glorious. Edit: This video actually has everything. You even put in a Rollomatik part! Thank you for making your videos incredible.

I always love stopping by the notice board of 5:35 because I feel like its a glimpse into the old Bungie, straight out of the original office. My dad was an early computer nerd in the 80's and 90's, and it reminds me of the cheesy stuff that he and his buddies used to have around their offices. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in an old interview with the game devs that one or two of those notices were actually posted in the Bungie office at some point, and they thought it would be funny to scan it into the game.

Imagine everything indie does is just acompanied by a montage. He goes groceryshopping with some heavy guitar track, then gets stuck in traffic in multiple camera angles while rolomatic plays just to get home and shit to the doom soundtrack.
holy shit, the "making 50 bucks on cameo" joke nearly made me piss my pants it was so unexpected. awesome vid!
The epilogue of Ted's journey was the saddest moment of 2021 for me
I love that you love the original graphics. They have such charm.
funniest walkthrough ive seen of halo 2 great job
Dude, let me just tell ya. Your videos are some of the most entertaining I've ever seen. I actually wait until night so I can watch it with nobody interrupting me. I love your style and I really hope to see more of your videos in teh coming years. Because I have already watched them all like 3 times.
Not putting the Pistol into S tier should be a crime.
Nay, it was heresy!
As someone who went and played through this game on Legendary a few months back, the dev who created the Library has reearned my eternal enmity.
I'm just glad that he learned a grunts life is not worth a single sniper rifle round, unless that's literally all you have and they're too far away to even inconveniently melee them.
It's always magical seeing a Halo newbie's first experience with the series. Especially when you're like me, and been playing the series since the first release.
The Act Man and Indeimaus? My day is complete.
best crossover of 2021
And Zanny too, portrayed by his favorite thumbnail.
LMAO you're insane.
I can't believe Dustin Echos survived the explosion on Halo.
nah mc just ignores cortana and leaves him to die on the ring lol
Lol
15:00 “surely halo has a shotgun right?”
“This sniper’s gonna be pretty hard to beat”
I sense a shotgun montage 😎
Did not disappoint. Can’t wait for HH2!
RIP Ted. We'll never forget his courage. He truly inspired us to be great
I respect that as someone who had never played Halo, you still had respect for the original graphics.
Think about this way Ted died, so you can live. He knew death could come at any moment. But he still fought to the end to see his best friend, Master Chief, fulfill his duty. With or without him. F for the true hero of halo.
F 😞
Glad I'm not the only one who felt tired after backtracking through the grey identical buildings
Two Betrayals and the maze-like initial escape during 343 are my only real issues with this. Keyes felt satisfying with the exterior areas, Maw had the engine destruction ‘fight’ with Guilty Spark and the awesome warthog run after.

There s a reason why Halo CE is my least liked Halo game.
Indeimaus... the HALO theme calls to you... what we need... *is an Indeimaus exclusive remix*

My only memory of Halo was playing multiplayer with my brother and him setting up my spawn point in the ocean so I would die every time
Dude, that section at the sort of 28/29 minute mark (Assault on the Control Room), you definitely took it the hard way.
"Making like $50 on Cameo"
I cried
Rest in peace Ted, he was a great man and an outstanding soldier. May he rest in everyone's hearts.
Hold on honey, the divorce can wait, Indeimaus just dropped a new video
"Wow really?! Great! This will help distract us from our failing marriage."
Bill Gates, is that you?
I'd love to see you do a short final impressions section at the end of each of these, to see how you feel about the series as a whole. All around, another banger from Indeimaus.
i like that u put the editing timeline in this, having just finished assembly on an 18 minute project this looks like a NIGHTMARE well done
You got Zanny in this!!! This video is going to be glorious.
Edit: This video actually has everything. You even put in a Rollomatik part! Thank you for making your videos incredible.
anyone got the timestamp for zanny?

Of all the Marines I've seen die over the years, Ted's death hit the hardest. RIP Ted
Ted rests now in the halls of Valhalla, for he went out like a champ.
This isn't a song from doom
A true warrior
40:19 fully agree, except the pistol belongs in S as well. halo 1's shotgun is my absolute favourite gun in any game, though, glad to see it getting some love.
Man please continue this series. It gets way better and I loved your take on it. It's been more than a year but I can still wait for it.
I don't know who you are or what this is, but you grabbed my attention with that intro for the next 50 minutes.
Rest in peace ted you were a dam good fighter and a good friend
RIP Ted. He will be missed.
I always love stopping by the notice board of 5:35 because I feel like its a glimpse into the old Bungie, straight out of the original office. My dad was an early computer nerd in the 80's and 90's, and it reminds me of the cheesy stuff that he and his buddies used to have around their offices. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in an old interview with the game devs that one or two of those notices were actually posted in the Bungie office at some point, and they thought it would be funny to scan it into the game.
original "cat found" poster was an ALIEN easter egg for the cat named jonesy
At least it wasn't named Lily. XD
People know that subscribing to this absolute legend is free right?? I don't know how you don't have 1 mill yet but it's well deserved brother love your videos
Legends say that among the stars, Ted still sits behind the minigun, joyfully gunning down covenant forces to this day
These videos are always like watching a big cinematic event. Then you realize it's just one guy at his computer. You always blow us away sir. Your pateron is money well spent.
Holy moly, what an excellent video, beautiful editing, very funny, very entertaining, as a Halo fan I think you did great recording your feelings and reactions, and yes, the later half is not as fun as the first one, but I'm glad you tried it
I’ve watched far too many videos like this of first time play throughs of Halo, but I’m only 16 min in and this is by far my favorite. Well done sir
guess he never get to see Johnson hugging a elite who cups a feel
wouldn't be a halo ce vid without being nailed by a rocket flood at *least* once
Read "once" as "a dozen times"
Damn...I genuinely teared up at Ted's passing. I felt so sad lol.
Okay, were did that intro song come form?! Sounds like DOOM's soundtrack had a lovechild with Halo and I love it!
It was made by a channel called Geoffplaysguitar he does it with a lot of songs and I can't get enough of it.
Man, this game is such a huge part of my childhood.
Bro your editing style is second to none. I just discovered your channel like 3 days ago and have been binging all your vids since. Can't believe I haven't found you sooner. Keep up the great work, man!
Edit: Btw you should definitely make a persona vid. Seems like it would really suit your style. Preferably P3 :)
I HAVE WAITED 10,000 YEARS FOR THIS!!
I’ve waited 200,000 years for this
16:30 the closest thing we get to a non-cut scene canon heroic death the entire episode
Maus asked if the second half is as fondly remembered as the first half. In reality the game as a whole is mostly remembered because of it's couch co-op, comin home from school and killin covvies and flood with your bro.
Super video! I applauded for £2.00 👏
The editing on your videos is pretty superb, and you've got great presence. Laugh my ass off every time. Can't wait for more!
Rest in piece, Ted, you were the true legend
Indeimaus
when Ted dies : N O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
Greetings cadian
Greetings cadian
3:14 I don’t think you know how much I and a lot of the community love you for that statement. Pretty sure this was before they made efforts to restore the fidelity/parity of the classic graphics too so that should tell you something
Super Video! Ich habe für 2,00 € Applaus gesendet. 👏
Geoff plays guitar's music absolutely slaps
WOOOOOO YEAH BABY THATS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR
Damn again an absolute banger from start to finish. Perfect music choice and awesome editing. Can't wait for halo 2 and 3.
Super video! I applauded for $2.00 👏
My guy's editing, humor, choice in music, all of it is just so good.
