I grew up on this river. For over 30 years I have had a calling for this river. As I got older…. The love has grown to a spiritual level. This river is my church. Best videos on this gem of a river hands down. I go to sleep at night to these videos. They are perfect. The narration to the soundtrack. Incredible!
I'm gonna tell you what. Man I remember when I was a kid back in the 50s and 60s traveling from Michigan down south to out west and to my best recollection all the rivers were soupy, silt filled dregs. I been watching all these current float trips in kayaks, canoes and rafts and seeing these rivers are all pristine clear to the bottom rivers of glassy movement. Hell I remember the Arkansas coming out of Colorado that thing was dark, blue steel dark. I don't know what happened made all these rivers so clean and pristine, but I'll take it 😊😊😊!!! And can't wait for the day I can get out on 'em. Thanks for sharing about the history on Jacks Fork that was real interesting too.
We try to obtain as much history and folklore as possible from local folks. It's a large part of what we enjoy about these Journeys. We are certainly glad you enjoyed it!
HA! Two minutes in and ready to grab my camping gear and go. Awesome video. Thanks for taking the time to record and edit. Been going here over 40 years and still get as giddy as a kid every time I head to Jacks Fork. Always stay at Alley, but the river has changed so much at the campground over the past 2-3 years. I still love doing the Bay Creek > Alley float every year for a quick easy float. Such an amazing place, truly a little piece of heaven in MO.

I grew up on the Jacks Fork. I would go with my dad and uncles fishing with a Jitterbug at nite. Me being tied to my dad with a rope so I didn’t drown. Remember camping below Eminence. Then they said there was a campground above Eminence @6 mile. It was on the other side of the river then. Same side as the Mill. It was heaven to me!

I have not paddled the Jack's Fork, but really would love to some day. I do not think it's very floatable above Alley Spring most of the year. How would you compare this to the Current?
