Thankfully the Lord gave us authority to cast them out. Next time you detect one, You need to speak with authority and bind them, rebuke them, and cast them away and command them to leave in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Quoting scripture helps while doing so and listening to worship music helps as well. I heard a couple of them screaming in pain while I was listening to worship music.

If anyone wants specifics, "Good Works" can be as follows: -Reading the word -Worshiping consistently -Praying consistently -Living in a righteous, Godly lifestyle -Abstaining from lusts -treating others as one wishes to be treated -Love for others -Good deeds -Sharing the Gospel, either consistently or by opportune chances. The list could go on, but these are aspects that indicate a regenerated spirituality.
Right!! We don't work to be saved but saved to do good works. This is what it means of working out our salvation with fear and trembling in Philippians 2:12. Many goes to the extreme and says they should do good works until they are saved. It only means that we should work out for the salvation we already have to enhance it not to work to have salvation. We should show our faith by works . Another is that some OSAS are taking the scripture we are saved by faith and not by works are thought to the extreme also. Great video Allen! It is so important for us to recognize that good works are a PRODUCT of our faith. Real, true, genuine faith will naturally be followed by action and works. But we are NOT saved by our works. We are saved by faith & grace and faith & grace alone. (Ephesians Chapter 2).

Yet ironically he wasnt considering my hunger. So make a clear distinction if the one asking is really in need. I also had that issue with the kjv and nkjv versions of the Bible. I would recommend either the nlt, niv or the esv versions as they're easier to read. Also inviting God through prayer before reading the Bible so that He can help you understand.
I know this is 2 years old, and you're 18 by now and time changes things and I know the world can be crazy, but I want you to know that I still prayed for you. It's alot and trust me, I'm 25 and It's always going to be an uphill battle, especially when it comes to understanding scriptures. For sure, working out salvation is tough. Seek other channels on top of Allen's, find solid people and have discernment in everything you hear. 8:20 I’m glad you said this at the end because I was always under the impression that James talking about Abraham being justified when he offered up Isaac was a justification before men. Why I believe this is because God called Abraham justified long before they even knew there was was an Isaac but when Abraham was still believing God for an heir. This is just what I’ve been led to believe.

It’s like in the hood. If you love the person, you will stay loyal and it will show by works, you won’t leave them. Sort of like an apostate. You can’t just say you’re loyal and not show works. You can also show good works to try and prove your loyalty without you loving the brother you’re trying to convince you’re loyal to. But if you’re truly loyal and faithful it will show by works as a result. By this we know who is of God, those who keep His commandments. If they do sin they have to struggle with sin, not treat it like nothing. They will feel convicted.

Allen, I think you are misunderstanding mathew 7:21 and confusing it with us having to do works. It actually justifies that we are saved by faith only. Mathew 7:21 “not everyone who says to me Lord Lord will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven” John 6:40 “the will of my Father is everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him, will have eternal life and I will rise them up at the last day” Mathew 7:22-23 proves OUR works have nothing to do with our salvation, but actually get in the way of our salvation if we rely on our works instead of solely the savior

You can still get all those things by works without believing in God. Which is why you have many successful unbelievers. Belief in God brings supernatural miracles and blessings without having to do anything but trust and wait on God !

Saved by faith and works...no. James isn't referring to a salvific faith. He's referring to the judgement without mercy in James 2:12-13. The believers (James 2:1) are judged through chastisement by their Father in heaven. It does other people no good if you don't have good deeds. Our justification by good deeds is before men in James 2:24, not the same justification by faith without good deeds, as Romans 4:5, which is before God. Chastisement, Lord's discipline: 1 Corinthians 11:32 Hebrews 12:5-11 Proverbs 3:12 Revelation 3:19 Psalm 89:30-33

Furthermore, if James believed in faith alone, Paul wouldn't have included him in those he dismissed as the "highly esteemed" who "added nothing" to his message" (Galatians 2:6)." Why do we always seem to assume that anytime we see the word "saved" or "save" that it means salvation? Why? Why doesn't anyone ask the question, "Saved from WHAT?" There are lots of people who are NOT saved, but they help the poor and their fellow man. Unbelievers can do exactly the same thing as believers. So, how does my "doing" anything at all "prove" that I am saved? Concerning helping others, good advice. Pray and ask for God to guide you. Now having said that, what qualifiers does James give in this passage to NOT help a brother in need? NONE that I can see. Also, a question. James keeps bringing up whether or not something is "useful" or "profitable." How was Abrahams act of taking Isaac to sacrifice him to God an action that was either "useful" or "profitable" to others? The example you use from Jesus actually says a lot more than you noted. Those who are saying "Lord, Lord" were ACTUALLY DOING GOOD THINGS. They were prophesying, casting out demons and doing mighty works in Jesus' name. Why do we continue to focus a Christian's attention to their works as "proof" that they are saved?
Read it in KJV cuz it’s actually WAY different than what the NLT says. Look at James 2:18 in both versions. One suggests Jesus is speaking, the other says a man may say.

Because when someone is genuinely born again it’s the Holy Spirit in dwelling the believer that produces these works. Take heart. There is nothing good God doesn’t desire to give us if only we ask Him. If you desire to have a heart after God and He knows you are sincere, He will give it to you! God looks for opportunities to shower us with His grace, forgiveness and mercy. But we can’t hold anything back, like sin that we are cherishing in our heart. It's been a while, but remember that God always provides a way out of temptation. Keep in mind that Christ will judge all His people, and also that He is our forgiveness through His blood. Confess your sins to Him, keep following Him, accept His correction, sometimes worry is good and leads us to repentance! No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. I know this is an old video, but I'm really hoping to get some guidance from someone. I got saved, or thought I did, when I was pretty young, but in the last 6 or 7 years, I've gotten into a cycle of sin that's now gotten so bad that I don't want to turn back to God. I feel like I have a dead faith despite having prayed the sinner's prayer years ago, because I don't desire to grow my relationship with God.
Hey sister! Remember that if you draw near to God he will draw near to you. He sees the posture of your heart and desires a relationship with you. What helps me to spend time with him is asking for his Spirit to give me that desire to seek him out, because he will give it to you especially if you keep asking. He can help break down that wall of separation between you and soften your heart. Thank you :)
Sin will always make you turn away from God. It will also give you a false view that God does not love you and thus continue in this mindset and continue sinning. The only practical solution that I can give is that start reading the Bible start in the new testament and continue to the letters which Paul wrote to the different Churches. This I pray will give you strength and increase your faith.
The real reason you're sinning is because you fail to understand sin. Once you understand sin, why it's wrong, and the consequences of sin; then you will naturally want to turn away from it. That is only if you truly want to change and to be more like Christ.

I had started to believe that since I was saved I could do whatever I wanted, and still go to Heaven when I died. That wasn't true repentance though. Even as I read your comment, my flesh wanted to defend my actions. I have since repented of my sin pattern that I was stuck in and have been free of it for two months.
Then why did james say in verse 14 are you save by faith oithout works .i thought we were saved in faith in jesus anc not by works and faith . To me james should have not ask are you then saved
If you read the verse above, he is referring to being saved from judgement before men, and judgement at the judgement seat of Christ. We will give a poor account at the judgement seat of Christ if we don't have enough good works. Everything else naturally follows through. God bless!
Faith without works doesnt mean go and get another job and overwork yourself God wants us to have time for his people that are in need faith without works is dead actually means having faith but not doing what God tells you to do (as far as helping others spiritually, physically, financially, or even mentally) then it's dead for instance when noah built the ark that was faith and works cause even though the storm had not yet come noah had faith in God and showed in his actions by building an ark while others laughed and talked about him. -Love for others

-Sharing the Gospel, either consistently or by opportune chances.
The list could go on, but these are aspects that indicate a regenerated spirituality.
Right!! We don't work to be saved but saved to do good works. This is what it means of working out our salvation with fear and trembling in Philippians 2:12. Many goes to the extreme and says they should do good works until they are saved. It only means that we should work out for the salvation we already have to enhance it not to work to have salvation. We should show our faith by works . Another is that some OSAS are taking the scripture we are saved by faith and not by works are thought to the extreme also. I also had that issue with the kjv and nkjv versions of the Bible. I would recommend either the nlt, niv or the esv versions as they're easier to read. Also inviting God through prayer before reading the Bible so that He can help you understand.

8:20 I’m glad you said this at the end because I was always under the impression that James talking about Abraham being justified when he offered up Isaac was a justification before men. Why I believe this is because God called Abraham justified long before they even knew there was was an Isaac but when Abraham was still believing God for an heir.

It’s like in the hood. If you love the person, you will stay loyal and it will show by works, you won’t leave them. Sort of like an apostate. You can’t just say you’re loyal and not show works. You can also show good works to try and prove your loyalty without you loving the brother you’re trying to convince you’re loyal to. But if you’re truly loyal and faithful it will show by works as a result. By this we know who is of God, those who keep His commandments. If they do sin they have to struggle with sin, not treat it like nothing. They will feel convicted.
I am literally reading the word everyday waiting for the transformation of the mind, but its like im being attacked every day too. Life is just so weird.

Allen, I think you are misunderstanding mathew 7:21 and confusing it with us having to do works. It actually justifies that we are saved by faith only. Mathew 7:21 “not everyone who says to me Lord Lord will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven”
John 6:40 “the will of my Father is everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him, will have eternal life and I will rise them up at the last day”
Mathew 7:22-23 proves OUR works have nothing to do with our salvation, but actually get in the way of our salvation if we rely on our works instead of solely the savior

James isn't referring to a salvific faith. He's referring to the judgement without mercy in James 2:12-13. The believers (James 2:1) are judged through chastisement by their Father in heaven. It does other people no good if you don't have good deeds.
Our justification by good deeds is before men in James 2:24, not the same justification by faith without good deeds, as Romans 4:5, which is before God.

James believed that works were necessary for salvation. Otherwise, he would not have asked, "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them (James 2:14)?" The answer to his question is, "Yes," faith with no deeds does save them. Otherwise, we cannot claim to believe in faith alone (Romans 3:28). We try and spin it to make it look like he is not being legalistic, but verse 14 is proof he believed you must have works in addition to your faith. Works will emanate from that in time, but that is between that person and God, not something to be judged by other Christians as if we are the measuring stick of the works God produces for Christians to walk in (Ephesians 2:8-10). Furthermore, if James believed in faith alone, Paul wouldn't have included him in those he dismissed as the "highly esteemed" who "added nothing" to his message" (Galatians 2:6)." The "men from James" wouldn't have caused Peter to stumble (Galatians 2:12). James would not have been part of a group of believers boasting about Jewish converts being "zealous for the law (Acts 21:20)." It is okay for James to be this way. We have the same differences in the church today and God is still working among us. Let us not spin the Bible to say what we want it to say because we are afraid to accept the consequences of what it does say.

True faith just means that you realize God exists, realize you are a sinner, and believe in the finished work that Jesus did on the cross for you as sufficient payment for your sins. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why do we always seem to assume that anytime we see the word "saved" or "save" that it means salvation? Why? Why doesn't anyone ask the question, "Saved from WHAT?" There are lots of people who are NOT saved, but they help the poor and their fellow man. Unbelievers can do exactly the same thing as believers. So, how does my "doing" anything at all "prove" that I am saved? Concerning helping others, good advice. Pray and ask for God to guide you. Now having said that, what qualifiers does James give in this passage to NOT help a brother in need? NONE that I can see. Also, a question. James keeps bringing up whether or not something is "useful" or "profitable." How was Abrahams act of taking Isaac to sacrifice him to God an action that was either "useful" or "profitable" to others?
The example you use from Jesus actually says a lot more than you noted. Those who are saying "Lord, Lord" were ACTUALLY DOING GOOD THINGS. They were prophesying, casting out demons and doing mighty works in Jesus' name. Why do we continue to focus a Christian's attention to their works as "proof" that they are saved?

@SilvioSalieri James doesn’t contradict Paul. When read properly in context they are complimenting what the other is saying.
Read it in KJV cuz it’s actually WAY different than what the NLT says. Look at James 2:18 in both versions. One suggests Jesus is speaking, the other says a man may say.

Devin Casebeer If you don’t have a desire to do good works, it’s only an indication that you are not saved. Because when someone is genuinely born again it’s the Holy Spirit in dwelling the believer that produces these works.
Take heart. There is nothing good God doesn’t desire to give us if only we ask Him. If you desire to have a heart after God and He knows you are sincere, He will give it to you! God looks for opportunities to shower us with His grace, forgiveness and mercy. But we can’t hold anything back, like sin that we are cherishing in our heart. It's been a while, but remember that God always provides a way out of temptation. Keep in mind that Christ will judge all His people, and also that He is our forgiveness through His blood. Confess your sins to Him, keep following Him, accept His correction, sometimes worry is good and leads us to repentance!

I know this is an old video, but I'm really hoping to get some guidance from someone. I got saved, or thought I did, when I was pretty young, but in the last 6 or 7 years, I've gotten into a cycle of sin that's now gotten so bad that I don't want to turn back to God. I feel like I have a dead faith despite having prayed the sinner's prayer years ago, because I don't desire to grow my relationship with God.
Hey sister! Remember that if you draw near to God he will draw near to you. He sees the posture of your heart and desires a relationship with you. What helps me to spend time with him is asking for his Spirit to give me that desire to seek him out, because he will give it to you especially if you keep asking. He can help break down that wall of separation between you and soften your heart. Thank you :)
Sin will always make you turn away from God. It will also give you a false view that God does not love you and thus continue in this mindset and continue sinning. The only practical solution that I can give is that start reading the Bible start in the new testament and continue to the letters which Paul wrote to the different Churches. This I pray will give you strength and increase your faith.

The real reason you're sinning is because you fail to understand sin. Once you understand sin, why it's wrong, and the consequences of sin; then you will naturally want to turn away from it. That is only if you truly want to change and to be more like Christ.

I had started to believe that since I was saved I could do whatever I wanted, and still go to Heaven when I died. That wasn't true repentance though. Even as I read your comment, my flesh wanted to defend my actions. I have since repented of my sin pattern that I was stuck in and have been free of it for two months.
Then why did james say in verse 14 are you save by faith oithout works .i thought we were saved in faith in jesus anc not by works and faith . To me james should have not ask are you then saved
If you read the verse above, he is referring to being saved from judgement before men, and judgement at the judgement seat of Christ. We will give a poor account at the judgement seat of Christ if we don't have enough good works. Everything else naturally follows through. God bless!

Because without “saving” faith, we do not produce good works. Good works are produced by the Holy Spirit working in those who are SEALED with the Holy Spirit through being born again. Not everyone who says they are saved, are Christians, or have faith, are saved, as the book of James explains that there is “dead” faith/“demonic” and saving faith. Faith is more than a mental assent. It’s more than believing in facts. That’s demonic as James explains even the demons believe. - “You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.”
James 2:19
Romans 4:5 And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,
