I see other channels where everything is perfect and huge and healthy and as a new plant enthusiast I can't really relate to that. Sometimes it makes me feel like maybe it's just me or maybe I'm just bad at this. You problems with the house are NOT normal. You're holding up remarkably well because I would have been crying in a corner and not been able to work at all. I LOVE your content so you must stay strong!
I wish I could grow these tropical plants outdoors like you do! During the summer I had three indoor plants vacationing outside on my balcony, a croton, a banana and a bird of paradise. All of them now look wonderful and I wish they will survive through the rough winter season indoors. My main issues are lack of light and humidity, but I've added both artificially.
Oh yeah they might be stunted with growth and maybe even scale back a bit during winter. I admire you guys determination to grow tropical plants where you are. It takes love and patience ❤️
New houses can be full of problems, but old houses can too, of a different kind! In less than 12 months, I've had to replace the roof (twice!), put in a new HVAC system, and replace the backyard fence that fell over in a rainstorm. I hope you had a quick and satisfactory resolution to all the house woes. (I enjoyed "walking" around with you and treating your beautiful collection!)
In the Florida Keys, that huge fern is a Macho Fern. We plant it in the ground which is not nutrient rich (soil, sand and rock) and it grows like crazy. We use those as hedges because they require minimal care and only get watered by rain.
Omgosh so entertaining! The puppies falling over as you pour your water!!! 😂😂😂 I’m used to the neem oil stink too, at first that burnt garlic and bad breath smell was horrid!! The mirror for the plants is awesome - what a great inspiration! I may copy it very soon 🙂 I also feel very happy after I sprayed them all with neem oil - they look so lush afterwards 🙂
I live in a different country and I moved last year to a new house. Let me tell you my dear, this is normal, all the newly built homes have these problems. Hello! I love your videos, mostly I love to be there watching and listening as you take care of your plants because it’s very natural, I feel like we’re friends and you’re teaching about big and little things. Also love to listen to what you’re thinking when you see something on this or that plant, because that’s experience and knowledge being passed down to us 🥰 I’m confused as to what to do. I have a calathea and ordered two more. I want to clean them but should I use the first method where you rinse it or the second where you just let it sit? Is it good to rinse them in the shower? I hope you are able to respond, I could really use your advice 😊 thank you for your videos, keep them coming please! ❤❤
Hello, please do DM me on @bo.tan.ist as youtube does not notify me when you have replied to me comment. Its ok to shower your calatheas, they love clean leaves and its good to knock off pests.
19:29 section fern and the other ostrich fern sooo cool but myself has never grown ferns successfully for long. i see them thriving on trees but my fruit trees are insect and aphids prone so i bring them indoor and i could not make the ferns grow beautifully like u showed in ur previouus home plant tours

Hi Sean! Thank you for this video! I have a calathea that I think might be infected with some fungus or some bacterial infection. I’m not seeing any bugs on it. Just wondering if I should be rinsing it after using the neem/soap/water solution.
