We always have to take these stories with a "grain of salt". The solo selection of ideas and events through the passage of time is most likely bias to the author. Never the less, a 40+ year life is more complex than a 1hr cherry extraction. The story does not make a lot of sense to me, and I'm not too sure who has the bigger ego...lol...and, would love to hear it from the other side.
I feel that in any relationship, if things don't work out, then just make honest meaning of it and move on. I don't get the idea of pushing, pulling, and begrudging emotions. When the respect is gone, it takes incredible hard work to get it back. Which is why we must always be extremely careful of what we do or say. Somethings are much hard to rectify then others. Trust in good, love and respect; it usually keeps you better.
