@@360eradaryl7 pretty much anyone with even an iota of historical knowledge despise this movie. It's utter trash from a historical standpoint.
I get it's based on mythology, but even in that case it's based on Bronze age Mycenean mythology being retold by Homer in Classical era Greece. None of this movie even tries to be accurate to either era... or any. It's such a blend of everything it's not even anachronistic anymore.

Achilles: imagine a king that fights his own battles.
Leonidas: hold my spear
Alexander the Great didn't just bark orders.
@@rthelionheart yes there is a reason he is called “the great”
Stephen the Great fought his own battles, Michael the brave as well.
In the Iliad when Achilles refuses to fight after many attempts to bring him back to the battle, Agamemnon basically promises him the world if he returns. Achilles was so scorned by the initial disrespect he still refused, which made Odysseus really depressed, they all thought it was unwinnable at that point. So with no options left Agamemnon himself does take up armor and weapons and leads the charge, pushing the Trojans back all the way from the ships to their city gates. I hate it when people say the book is better than the movie but you should definitely read the Iliad if you enjoyed this movie, it's one of the greatest works ever made.
Most of Georgian kings fought their battles. Not USA state of Georgia, I mean country Georgia. Georgians weren't cowards.
When Achilles tells the boy "that's why no one will remember your name", at first I thought it was an insult, or perhaps mocking the boy's fear, but now I see that it is an honest warning to all those who don't take risks. To live is to risk. Even the best warriors know fear and that is no mark against them.
It was simply the credo of the warrior, the worldview of the times. Immortality is attained only by being remembered in the minds of others. But that doesn't last long either.
Right !
he simply told the boy to put his whatever that was towards the horse.
then he looked somewhere else..know one will remember your name
I view this quote as the ultimate motivator for someone his age, or anyone looking for inspiration. It is a brutally honest warning that if he does not change his mindset and way of living, then he will suffer a life of insignificance.
Brad Pitt as Achilles is one of the best casting ever , His feet movement his battle scenes 🔥
What?
Indeed... the footwork and overall poise brought true definition to the character!
"He is not my king." I thought he would say "So fight is invalid. We request a re-fight."

One of my favorite movies. I make sure I watch it at least once each and every year. The dialogue is awesome. I yearn for a remake with the cinematography and visual effects used for 300. If it is possible to use the same casts, that will be great but Brad Pitt must play Achilles again. No one can do it better than him.
